  1. THat's funny
  2. I know a lot of celiacs who have trouble with chocolate, so that could be your problem with the cookies too, because if they both make you sick, then either there is something else you are sensitive to, like soy (which is in a lot of things), or you could be sensitive to chocolate, which would suck, but then you know what it wrong and wouldn't be getting...
  3. Risotteria, It is sooo good, they have a gluten free menu and all this gluten-free stuff including breadsticks and cookies and all this really good stuff. I would reccomend it even to a person without celiac.
  4. When I was at the celiac conference at stanford, they had samples of Perky-Os which are made by perkys, and they are sooooo good, but they haven't been put on the maked yet, look at whole foods for them when they come out, according to my sisters, they tase like cheerios
  5. When I was first diagnosed they told me to stop annatto before I was 6 and then be able to have it until I was 60, it is something about the way that your body can process it, especially when you are still healing, try staying off it for a year or two, and then when you are completely healed, try going back slowly.
  6. I think that you just have to let your body heal, and if you don't get better in like 7-8 months, then go back to your doctor for follow up tests and make sure that there isn't anything else that is bothering you. Hope you feel better
  7. That really sucks to have the flu on top of you still healing after being diagnosed with celiac. I would say, just stay very simple on the foods, don't eat anything too hard on your stomach. BRAT (bananas, rice applesaice, toast) you could get gluten-free toast if you really want it, but rice is really the best thing for celiacs to have when they are sick...
  8. I don't think that it really has anything to do with celiac, but it might. If it still hurts in a week or so, you should go to the doctor to see if anything is really wrong.
  9. I've gotten sick from a lot of Brachs candies.
  10. I tried them all and didn't like any of them...
  11. Crave bakery on san francisco makes gluten free wedding cakes Open Original Shared Link
  12. In SF you have to go to Roys, I don't think you even need to call ahead because they are so accomidating. ONe time they kept bringing out free appetizers until they found one that I could eat (strawberries). Google Roys san francisco and call ahead because it is a very busy restaruant.
  13. Different countries have different regulations on how much gluten can go into a product with it still saying that it is gluten free. I don't eat anything with the name wheat in it except buchwheat.
  14. I posted it twice sorry...
  15. I don't like the Chocolate O's at all. I think they taste bad and go stale in like no time. I prefer plain candy bars.
  16. Hi, I live in Palo Alto about 45 minutes south of SF. Welcome to the board.
  17. San Francisco Giants and Red Sox all the way! I love to watch baseball all the time. Donna-I'm going to the Giants vs. Braves game on wednesday. And the Giants also know about the injury bug going around, everyone is hurt on our team too, even through I don't like Barry Bonds and think he is a jerk, he is fun to watch
  18. Chips, energy bars, basically your favorite gluten-free snack. Make a sandwich on your favorite gluten-free bread, you can also but the popcorn and chips there if that makes it a bit easier. If they say it can't be in a cooler then just put it in a backpack and if you want to keep it cold, throw some icebacgs in there. This shouldn't be a stressful event...
  19. That sounds just like a classic celiac reaction to gluten. Hope you feel better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. First of all Welcome to this board. It is fine for you to post here even if you haven't been officially diagnosed with celiac disease. For vitamins you might want to consider Centrum LIquid, horrible tasting but has some necessary vitamins and minerals. For the first couple of months try eating very simple, jsut bland food that you have cooked yourself...
  21. You know it's good when your friends eat it without saying YUCK!
  22. My surgeron told me to use listerine after my surgery and I haven't gotten sick yet. I use it like 5 times a day so I think that it is OK.
  23. Gluten is just hard to digest.
  24. Yes they are gluten-free, and if you check one resource and they say it isn't, then call the company anyway if you have been eating it without problems, becasue that mean that the online resource is wrong.
