ARCHIVED Does The Craziness Go Away?
Ahorsesoul replied to ann72601's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Examine why you are eating or handling foods you know you should not. You will feel horrible any time you eat/get contaminated with these foods. Stay away from the foods that bother you, enjoy your friends. You can do this. -
ARCHIVED Spaghetti Squash Anyone?
Ahorsesoul replied to Cheri A's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I bake mine whole in the oven. Pierce the skin with a fork, lay it in a pan and bake until tender. I let it cool before cutting and removing the seeds. I was introduced to spaghetti squash 45 years ago. The nursery guy and my uncle were friends. My uncle was asked to grow these new seeds and give a review of what he thought. The seed package was just white... -
ARCHIVED Glutened?
Ahorsesoul replied to Sanson's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Sanson, Remember about cross contamination. Wood, plastic and coated pans that have contained gluten items can make you sick. Sometimes cutting out dairy and soy for a few months can help. -

ARCHIVED Feel Myself Slipping Into "That Place" Again
Ahorsesoul replied to jasonD2's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Jason, So sorry you did not get the job you desired. Hopefully this will leave a opening for something better for you. About your tests. Go for all you can. The more you know the better you will be able to deal with it. It's the thinking and worrying about it that gets all of us down. Attack it head on and wrestle it. No reason for it to stalk you. ... -
Only things I haven't been able to duplicate are phyllo dough (just too lazy to do all that rolling) and Cream of Shrimp soup (I used it in my shrimp dip recipe). Can't really think of anything I'd really want. Of course I do have chocolate chip cookies and my coffee in front of me, so I'm in heaven.

Jillian, I've had several MRIs. I think of them as cozy and not claustrophobic. Makes it easier for me. They will have a brace for my head to make it easier to hold still. I get comfortable before it starts. All jewelry, metal items need to be removed. The first time they made me take off a medication patch but never has told me to do so again. They gave...

Have you been dairy and soy free also. Some people need to stay off dairy and soy (along with the gluten) for a few months for their intestines to heal. Every time you eat gluten you start the healing process over again. So this may be why you are not feeling as well as your could. Also start checking everything (yes, again) that goes into your mouth or...
