  1. I got e-mails from both Lisa and Lynne, so I tried to get in and I got the same "too many connections" message. I e-mailed back that maybe the "Sex and Celiac" thread was heating up the lines so much it blew the board! Hugs. Karen
  2. It can be a possibility that it could threaten the purity of gluten free foods by companies thinking they could be slack since it is "just a fad". On the other hand, if it increases good gluten free foods, then maybe two years down the road when the diagnoses starting pouring in, the increase in choice of foods will be here to stay. Karen
  3. Don't forget that even if you do not get the "official" diagnosis of celiac, you may very well likely be gluten intolerant at the very least. I think this is the "tip of the iceberg" they keep talking about, the tip that is showing is the actual celiac cases being diagnosed, but the whole huge iceberg underneath the water is all the rest of society that...
  4. That's wonderful news!!!! Congratulations! Hugs. Karen
  5. See? There's tons of fringe benefits to going gluten free! You're now part of the "IN" crowd!!! Hugs. Karen
  6. Hi mmc! I think you are one smart cookie! I agree that going the dermatologist route would be the most productive route. If you get a positive biopsy, there is your confirmation right there, as DH is always caused by celiac. Also, keep another thing in mind..... If tests come back negative for celiac (because the tests do yield a false negative...
  7. Interesting. I guess I am part of the category of That's me. My bloodwork shows well in the normal range now but my villi will not grow back and malabsorption is still a major issue (well, secondary to the chronic diarrhea!). Karen
  8. See? The divorce rate among the younger generation is going to plummet! Maybe churches should give out Altoids for communion wafers instead of those yucky wheat things! Can you just picture couples kneeling down saying their prayers and giving each other that "knowing" wink? Hugs. Karen
  9. We went out to early dinner today to celabrate my birthday. Terry had a busy week so this was the first day we had time to go out. We went out to Outback Steakhouse and I am in heaven! Firstly, the waitress was TOTALLY versed in the gluten-free diet. I ordered the steak with the garlic mashed potatoes (with a caesar salad dor appetizer). When the...
  10. Cool! Thanks Peter! Karen
  11. YES! They are gluten free! (I mean the regular Reese's PB Cups) They also happen to be my MAJOR weakness!!!!! LOL! Karen
  12. I swear being glutened should be a valid reason to plead "Temporary Insanity" for a crime! Hugs. Karen
  13. Natural Choice (blue bag) is exactly the same dog food that made Buddy vomit up bile. Once I finally took him off that and changed him to Performatrin Ultra Chicken & Brown Rice Formula (it's hormone free, no artificial preseratives, flavour or colours, no animal by-products or rendered animal fats, no wheat or corn by-products). It's in a gold/bronze...
  14. Oh heck ya! The best way to describe me when I get glutened is "The Incredible Hulk". I can explode in anger at the drop of a hat! Hugs and hope you feel better today, Karen
  15. What kind of dog was she? Was she purebred? I have a dopey golden. I have had a dog my whole life. Chihuahua, then golden, then golden, then Maltese, then another golden! Kinda love my goldens! My current golden Buddy used to have a problem in the morning. He used to frequently hack up/throw up yellow bile in the morning. Vet said he just...
  16. Now THAT'S irony! Karen
  17. It will be really interesting to see your results! Make sure you post them! By the way, I absolutely LOVE your avatar! Stunningly beautiful........ Hugs. Karen
  18. Once you become a doctor, be loud, VERY LOUD! to educate the rest of the doctors about celiac disease!!!! Karen
  19. I'm glad your sweet angel had a wonderful birthday! August 15th, eh? That's my anniversary! And her and I also share the same birthday! I definitely feel a connection happening here! Hugs. Karen
  20. Wow, surprise, surprise, another story of doctors who should know better! My best suggestion to you would be to listen to your instincts..... Even if the results come back negative, it is VERY likely you could have non-celiac gluten intolerance. If you have a positive response to the gluten-free diet, then that is your answer. Of course, if you...
  21. I SO agree, cultureslayer! I have often lamented how there is not a doctor who they can send you to to tie all of these diseases together! One doctor for your thyroid, one doc for gastro, dermatologist for DH, rheumy for arthritis..... If only there was one doctor who understood the whole package put together! Karen
  22. Aw B, I wish I could give you a big hug in person! The gallbladder thing is good - get it the heck out of there, what gall does it have being in there anyway? Regarding conceiving, just keep in mind I was told I would have a 50/50 chance of EVER being able to conceive, and look how THAT turned out! {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{ HUGS }...
  23. LMAO! You had a truckload delivered, didn't you!!!!! Hugs. Karen
  24. Yep, definitely something I will never live down for the rest of my celiac.com life! celiac3270, I am very proud of you and your anti-Altoids stance. I wish more young people had your morals........ (I am married, I can be "immoral" in that department! ) Hugs. Karen
