  1. There are certainly lots of cat lovers here!!! LOL! One of my favourite gluten free snacks is from Australia. But I can't find them up here anymore. Snakatas crackers, they come in four different flavours, Sea Salt & Vinegar, Sour Cream & Chives, Supreme Cheddar and BBQ. They are soooo delicious but the store that carried them up here closed...
  2. Have you been celiac for awhile or just recently diagnosed? Tell us a bit about yourself!! Karen
  3. Well G'Day Mate! LOL! Sorry, couldn't resist! Hi! I'm Karen (from Canada, obviously!). I just wanted to welcome you to the board and hope to hear more from you! Karen
  4. Sending immediate prayers your way, hon..... Keeping you and your family in my thoughts.... {{{{{{{{ HUGS }}}}}}}}}}}}} Karen
  5. Richard made reference in an earlier post about his daughter and it was the first time some had learned of it..... Karen
  6. I have eaten at the one in Whitby with no problems..... (making my mouth water just thinking of it.... yummmm......) Karen
  7. David, I love you! You rock! You have done an amazing job in helping us get some answers. As usual, you have written a wonderful article...... Finally, someone was able to at least get some kind of a definitive answer on this issue..... Did I mention you ROCK? Karen
  8. I use El Peto. It's a Cdn company. Their white cake mix and chocolate cake mix are amazing! Open Original Shared Link Karen
  9. On McDonald's Canadian website, here are the ingredients listed for the fries:
  10. That should keep 'em busy for awhile!!!! LOL! Karen
  11. There are plenty of people who are totally asymptomatic yet the damage is still being done. I think the fact of whether or not you have a reaction to them cannot be used to determine whether or not damage is being done. But I agree, anyone who has had follow-up biopsies or bloodwork after stuffing their face with McD's fries for three months, I would like...
  12. Even more interesting to me is that it seems to me that there are two different kinds of fries they manufacture, the ones for Muslims and the ones for the rest of the world. If that is the case, then aren't the fries that are shipped to the States and same fries that are shipping to Canada. Could it be that up here in Canada, McDonald's fries also contain...
  13. I found this quite interesting, even though it doesn't have anything to do with the current issue, it does give us a glimpse of the processing of these fries...... Open Original Shared Link Karen
  14. Now I am even more confused. If that is the case, then the statement from Cynthia Kupper is worthless if the par-frying method is irrelevent as they claim the wheat is removed prior to any frying? Karen
  15. I think what McDonald's has to do is have an independent agency who would have proper knowledge of this "par-fry" process, come forward and state one way or another that indeed, testing has been done and it has been proven that the "par-fry" method removes all traces of gluten. Sorry if I don't just take McDonald's word for it, or Cynthia Kupper's for that...
  16. I know it really confusing, but I have read through the link below (my eyes are screwy now!!! ) but I haven't been able to find anything about their invention being able to kill gluten..... Open Original Shared Link Karen
  17. As I stated on another thread, she obviously is referring to the "par-fry" method that McDonald's uses. But that raises the question of exactly how much investigating has she done regarding this when she doesn't even know the proper name for the cooking method in question. Karen
  18. I think she was referring to the "par-fry" method. But then again, how much can I trust a person (or how much investigating has she done regarding this), when she doesn't even know the proper name for the cooking method that is under suspicion. Karen
  19. Altoids rock! (except Tuesdays at 9 pm) Karen
  20. I just heard back from Mr. Catrill. The OACS does not have any information regarding the formulation of "par-fryed" foods. Oh well, worth a try...... I am not even going to begin to address jnifred's post....... don't trust myself. Karen
  21. This was in the MSN link above. I have sent the e-mail below to Mr. Cantrill: Maybe they might be able to tell us something...... Karen
  22. I think the inability of McDonalds to have their pages properly updated is only adding to the frustration we feel...... Just for your information, I received a response from David at the Wall Street Journal and he is looking into it. Let's hope he can get some answers for us...... You rock, David! Hugs. Karen
  23. My whole family knows on Tuesday nights from 9 - 10 pm, Mom is off-limits..... DON'T BOTHER ME WHILE MY HOUSE IS ON!!! The kids are in bed and Terry could stand in front of me waving a tin of Altoids in my face and I wouldn't notice him...... I only have eyes for Hugh Laurie! Karen
  24. I am familiar with Bobbie and she is a very good voice of reason. I just can't seem to justify how McDonalds handled this. I for one think they are indeed responsible for the fact that their claim that their fries being gluten free was an "untruth". I don't think they should be able to hide behind the "Well, we didn't know" excuse. If they were going...
  25. lol! I don't think too many people are in a civil or nice mood today...... Karen
