  1. Soy milk is soy just like any other soy product. However it is not fermented like soy sauce, tofu or tempe. It is LESS digestible.
  2. I didnt take it as a joke at all. Not everyone understands food. Some dont even know what gluten is. Why would you if you were not a baker or a celiac?? You just eat food if you have no problems. Until I went gluten-free, I didnt know what manioc was. And I have a Phd in Holistic Nutrition. Lack of knowledge does not make a person any less intelligent...
  3. I cant do the chocolate. But I will keep eye out for the Mango...sounds yummy.
  4. Just get your thyroid checked before trying L-Carnitine. It can worsen a hypothyroid condition. Google it. Learn before you try.
  5. MinMin, My scores look like yours. I am not considered IgA deficient, but I am at the bottom of the range. I had a POS response to the diet. You may have still found your answer, so dont give up!! You may have to try a gluten-free diet to see like me.
  6. He is MOST DEFINITELY NOT ALONE!! Was he tested for Celiac? Or just assumed gluten intolerant? The longer he is gluten-free the less likely subsequent tests will show Celiac. Just so you know. If he wants a Dx, he will need to eat gluten and get the proper tests. The results are the same either way....100% gluten-free diet for life.
  7. I am a skinny gluten intolerant. I lost 5 pounds in the first 6 weeks. But I have gained back 8. Just give it a little more time and make sure you give him nutrient/calorie rich foods like nut butters and avacado.
  8. Very familiar. Eating out is like playing Russian Roulette. Marinades are notorious for having gluten in them. Foods that seem safe arent. You have to get used to asking LOTS of questions. Even calling ahead when you eat out. Even then you can get burned. It has happened to me despite my efforts. And with Celiac you really have to strive for...
  9. No drama here....still healing....slowly but surely.
  10. That is correct.
  11. First Dawn....Welcome. Secondly, how did he Dx Celiac without the results of the blood tests. And here is the thing, if the blood comes back POS he will want you to get a biopsy. You MUST keep eating gluten until ALL testing is done. He may not require a biopsy for a Dx, but you should at least wait until the blood work comes in. If it is POS and...
  12. I have never really enjoyed too many weddings. They are usually lame (hopefully not for th bride and groom.....LOL). The best weddings IMO are the casual ones in someone's back yard with a BBQ.
  13. Oh and for the thyroid it should be: TSH Free T3 Free T4 And both antibodies You can ask for this next time. I have never even heard of that weird TSH test he is using on you and I have studied thyroid (wrote my dissertation on it) and have read countless books on thyroid. It is likely some obsolete test.
  14. There really should be a TOTAL IgA to make sure you arent deficient as most tests are IgA and if you are deficient then IgG should be use. But otherwise, he is being comprehensive looking for "inflammation", "heart health", "autoimmune markers" and "blood suger".
  15. And in these economic times.....you wont have to buy a gift either.
  16. I think Chebe would make a good Panini. The Pizza crust mix.
  17. For me it isnt "carbs" in general that raise my BS, it is the type. Grains make my BS skyrocket. Fruit, squashes and sweet potatoes do not. So I cut out the grains and now keep a nice normal BS curve.
  18. Consider this: you CAN have both an IgG or IgE mediated allergy to wheat PLUS Celiac. Here is the problem. Let's say you come back "allergic" to wheat, so you cut wheat out of your diet. Now they will tell you after 6 months or so, you can add it back in. You may add it back in and not have a negative reaction. You think: problem solved. The clincher...
  19. Did they draw blood for a full Celiac panel as well?
  20. It is so hard to say Kerri. Some say 3 - 4 months of heavy gluten eating will get the best results. It may have been enough time, but if you come back NEG, you may always wonder......If you come back POS then it was enough time. Some people heal very quickly (even in 2 weeks) and then if you werent eating a lot of gluten in that 1 - 1.5 months it might...
  21. I never got tummy aches. Just neuro symptoms and loose poop.
  22. Check this link out to see if your "floaters" require further investigation: Open Original Shared Link
  23. I have put on 8 (much needed) pounds on the nearly SCD diet. I do eat sweet potatoes now and again and a few other things, but 90% SCD.
  24. So many factors involved. I can say that I certainly wanted it more when I was 20 compared to now (40). Stress can cause lower desire for either partner. And it isnt always a man that wants it more often. Sex should be something you enjoy and look forward to. It should not be a chore or an "obligation". However, I do know that sometimes one partner...
  25. Dont beat yourself up too badly. We all make mistakes. That is how we learn. Hope you are better soon.
