  1. If you respond positively to the diet, then by all means say "I have Celiac disease."
  2. I.K.E......Corrumba!! He is already a Cat.3 and nothing but warm open water to let him get stronger. Aiming directly for Florida.....so I am watching closely to see what this B*s*t*rd is going to do.
  3. That really stinks!! My husband is a college professor and believe me, he hates the conditions he has to teach in sometimes. Pathetic!! Does the Immodium stop the D well? Never used it. I guess you could try it and see how you react to it, so you could use it just for the class if it works. Feeling for you. You are obviously a very strong and brave...
  4. Is this what he wants to order: Open Original Shared Link
  5. I buy nut flours from Digestive Wellness and bought some pecan meal this last time. I used a small amount in some yummy spice cake but knew there had to be other uses for it. I made this tonight. Super easy and oh so yummy: Pecan-Crusted Salmon with Honey Mustard Glaze (original recipe from betterrecipes.com) Ingredients: 2 salmon fillets 1/4 c...
  6. Mine are vertigo, migraine and neuropathy. But ALL of them are markedly improved after the past 5 months gluten-free plus some other things I am doing to get better.
  7. Anytime Janet. I hope you feel better soon. I am on a restrictive diet by most standards.....but I eat well and am feeling very good of late. So there is hope!
  8. Yup on the Cliff Bars.....sometimes all it takes is a 5 second Google to find out if a product has gluten: Are any of your products gluten-free? While CLIF Nectar, Splashers, Twisted Fruit, LUNA Elixir, Luna Sports Products, CLIF SHOT gels, CLIF SHOT BLOKS, and CLIF SHOT Energy Drinks do not contain any gluten ingredients, they are not produced in...
  9. No Funny is my fight to resist making more today.
  10. I think up and down is normal. The probiotics do help. I am now on GSE. First few days I had some very minor die-off....but now it is fine. Still no bloating for me. I believe the Neem killed off whatever it was bloating me. Im just using a few other things to "seal the deal".
  11. It certainly is worth a try since gluten intolerance is in the top 10 reasons for failure to thrive. Have you considered removing dairy as well?
  12. do you have your thyroid lab results with reference ranges? Did they test FREE T4, FREE T3, TSH and both antibodies??? If you can afford it, you can test with Enterolab. They will run genetic testing for Celiac and gluten sensitivity PLUS you can order antibody tests for gluten, dairy, egg and soy. Those are ALL problem foods for many. If all else...
  13. Honestly you have nothing to lose by trying a gluten free diet. It is safe and healthy. Your symptoms sound suspicious too. If you can afford it, you can test with Enterolab to see if you have Celiac or gluten intolerance genes. You can also test for antibodies to gluten, soy, dairy and egg.
  14. Cant you just select a new PCP?? My insurance lets me switch.
  15. Celiac is a genetic disease that is triggered by gluten. There is currently no cure for it. Someday there may be genetic therapy. There is, however, a way to treat and heal Celiac. It is a 100% gluten free diet. The SCD treats/heals Celiac because it is gluten free. It does not cure it.
  16. We love recipes. Drunken chicken sounds good.....bring it on!
  17. People make assumptions. Often they are wrong. Just because a chicken eats wheat grain does not mean that the egg has gluten. I eat eggs with ZERO problems. I buy organic, free range vegetarian 4 grain feed eggs. I am sure one of those 4 grains is wheat because it is cheap. One is surely corn. I have issues with corn, but not eggs. I have issues with...
  18. I use Living Harvest Hemp all the time without any issues. If it had gluten I would get vertigo and a headache. No problems.
  19. French fries you make at home are PERFECTLY safe. At restaurants they often fry the french fries in the same oil that they fry everything else in like onion rings (which are breaded), fish, egg rolls, etc. It isnt safe at all to eat fries out unless the restaurant tells you they have a dedicated fryer and that the potatoes were not dusted with flour beforehand...
  20. I have 2 things of it in my pantry that I have not tried yet...pizza dough and cinnamon rolls. I wish they had some fiber in them. Maybe adding some ground flax to the bottom would help. Thanks for sharing. I may give them a go sometime.
  21. Black pepper, ginger and mustard add a little heat to curries. Those are good with Indian. I did exactly as RiceGuy said and put everything in my curry powder except the red pepper. It turned out yummy. Traditionally, Indian curry powder did not contain chillies, rather a frangrant blend of turmeric, cumin and coriander seeds, fenugreek, cloves, ginger...
  22. Apple cider and rice vinegars are perfectly safe. They say the other vinegars are fine too. Avoid MALT vinegars only. There is a WHOLE WORLD of food out there to eat!!!! Delicious foods: ALL MEATS, ALL VEGGIES, ALL FRUITS, NUTS SEEDS, RICE, POTATOES, CORN, TINKYADA PASTA and the list goes on. There is also a gluten-free replacement for just about...
  23. There is NO GUARANTEE that this will help you at all if you get some gluten, and a Celiac should NEVER use this in order to eat gluten on purpose, but you could buy some Glutenease or another similar product (there are several out there I just dont know the other products names). With this said, you could get sick. So if it were me, I would pack some dried...
  24. Yes, you are double DQ1 which according to a lot of people on this forum with the same genetic makeup, neuro symptoms are common with your typing.
  25. OK people....I made those grain free chocolate chip cookies. I had to. I used the Enjoy Life choco chips because they are gluten, soy and dairy free. I know I cannot eat a lot of chocolate, so this was a definite SPLURGE. But they were oh...oh....so yummy....So I told my DH and DD to eat them all up......LOL
