  1. That Mill is gonna have to go too. You cannot use the same mill for gluten grains as non-gluten grains. I am not so sure it is ironic. Sometimes it seems that we are lead down a certain path in life for a reason. There is some lesson to learn or in some way we can become stronger by the irony. Maybe you are right on track. Think of this...
  2. There is some truth to what you are saying Violet. But also, as a kid, I dont remember ANY autistic children at my school. Only a few kids had allergies. And it was VERY RARE that a kid in any of my schools up through HS got cancer. It is not the same anymore, from what my daughter reports and from knowing other families with children around my neighborhood...
  3. Have you had his blood sugar tested? Sometimes when the pancreas doesnt work correctly, you can eat a meal, but the pancreas produces "too much" insulin for that meal. The extra insulin in the bloodstream triggers hunger to balance it out. High glycemic foods are likely the cause (think sugars, rice, potatoes, corn, etc.) Sometimes an organ will...
  4. I know we are a society of "weight obsession" but right now the most important thing is your HEALTH and not your weight. Most who are overweight LOSE weight when they go gluten free. If you are underweight....you will likely gain some. So you can relax. As long as you can stand it, you can wait for the results of the test. And if you keep eating...
  5. I couldnt edit it....It does look FUNNY tho.
  6. And auto-immune diabetes goes hand and hand with Celiac. If it were me, I would stop eating gluten.
  7. This is a LOW FAT recipe right??......LOL
  8. Antibody levels do not always equal severity of symptoms. You can have low antibodies and bad symptoms. You could have high antibodies and no symptoms. You can have a negative blood but positive biopsy and vice versa. Celiac isnt as cut and dry as some doctors might lead you to believe. I would definately have everyone tested and request the genetic...
  9. What did they test?? Did they only do IgA antibodies?? Did they test your total IgA to see if you are deficient (therefore making the IgA tests invalid). Did they test IgG?? Have you had genetic testing for Celiac? Biopsy? I had neg blood, neg genetics for Celiac, but positive response to the diet. I have 2 gluten intolerance genes through Enterolab...
  10. If you have positive blood...then yes you are Celiac. You should also request genetic testing to see if you have Celiac genes. Just one more piece to the puzzle.
  11. I am now going to investigate Lyme. I googled LLMD + Tampa to discover an expert in infectious disease literally 3 minutes from my house. Right up the street. So if I have Lyme, I know I will be in good hands. I called them and they are sending me a package to fill out. They use IGENX for testing and they work in conjunction with my primary care doctor. So...
  12. Uranium....that's just weird. Near a nuclear power plant?? Like the rest of us...tests.....doctors....supplements....treatments.....when will it end!
  13. I need to rephrase my last remark....it should read: Dont try eating OUT right now if you can help it. Once you heal and feel better, we can help you make more choices.
  14. Ive been using almond meal/flour for pie crust with good results. I mix a cup of almond flour with 2 tlb of coconut oil and a few tlb of my homemade nut yogurt (but any yogurt should work fine). Press it into the pie pan....fill with fruit and bake for 30 minutes.
  15. Welcome. Yes, it can be hard, but you have come to an awesome place for support and guidance. The best advice when first dx is to eat simply: plain meats of any kind, eggs, pure spices, veggies of any kind, fruit of any kind and if you want starches things like potatoes, squashes, fresh corn. You can eat rice, but check to make sure the brand...
  16. xylitol is a natural alcohol sugar from either corn or birch. I believe birch is better. I dont eat corn, so I got the birch. Like Maple syrup comes from maple trees. Xylitol comes from Birch trees.
  17. I have been gluten free for nearly 4 months and I got my first real glutening Friday night. I ate some Whole Foods Sushi. No gluten ingredients and I didnt eat the soy sauce of course. Just nori, rice, sesame seeds, carrots, avacado, plain shrimp....that is all. But the next morning I woke with vertigo. It lasted all weekend. And the BLOATING!!! OMG...
  18. You know....I dont have this problem. But xylitol will give me "D". I wonder if you ate a little packlet of xylitol if that would help.......It isnt harmful. It is a non-digestible sugar alcohol. A lot of fiber is non-digestible too. So similar concept. Some foods move through me faster than others. Okra is another one that gets things going.
  19. We love Applegate and can get them at Sweetbay as well as WF.
  20. Are you eating dairy? Could be that you re-damaged yourself bad enough that the little villi that digests casien arent working. You could try cutting dairy and see if that helps.
  21. I tested positive with Enterolab for Gluten Sensitivity. Negative for Celiac via blood and genetic testing. If you mean the skin prick test for wheat. I was negative there. Sorry.
  22. A lot of people like Jarrow B12. I have used it for years, but am now switching to Pure Encapsulation liquid because I want to avoid the xylitol. I just figured out it gives me "D". Make sure you take this with a complete vitamin B complex or it can throw others off like Folic Acid. You can take up to 1000 mg daily of magnesium. I like magnesium citrate...
  23. We need to see the "ranges" to help you interpret them.
  24. How bout this: CELIAC WARNNG!! AT This Time No Enzyme Product Will Allow You To Eat Gluten. Please Consult Your Doctor Before Using This Or Any Other Enzyme. That would fit.
