  1. I would also love a gluten-free GS cookie version but then you'd have to deal with the cross contamination thing. I work in an elementary school so I get hit up several times a year and I have to turn them down. Sometimes, I give in a buy my sons a box though.
  2. Does anyone know if there is a gluten-free substitute for french fried onions (like in green bean casserole)? Also are the new Blue Diamond flavored almonds gluten-free? Number 3: Was wondering if anyone has info on the supplement "SEAVEGG". I emailed them but only got the automated response and that was about 7 weeks ago. Thanks, my celiac comrades...
  3. I have looked in 5-6 stores, including 2 health food stores, for the Health Valley Rice and Corn Crunch 'Ems. I have been craving party mix but can't find these cereals anywhere!
  4. Had to take the Sharp back as company said it could not transfer any text files whatsoever. I now have a Palm Z22. My son got the gluten-free list to transfer on it and I am happy! If anyone has this type of palm and has any helpful hints, please let me know. Thanks to all.
  5. Hi celiac3270... I haven't taken it back yet so I'll email them again. Thanks and I'll keep you posted on the outcome.
  6. Thanks guys for all the info....you're a big help!!!!
  7. Hi, Jeanette I don't know if this helps you, but I go to Dr. Sandy in Vincennes for my celiac. There are some other doctors in the complex but don't know if any are pediatric.
  8. Thanks, Karen for going to all that trouble for me. I finally got an email from Sharp and they said that it doesn't have the capability to import Word files. Guess I'll take it back. BTW, I like your picture. Jen, Thanks for the input. I'll be checking into those!!!!
  9. I have been looking for a palm pilot that I can transfer the delphi and restaurant lists to from my desktop. My nice husband bought me an organizer for Christmas but my son is not sure it will work for this. It's a Sharp Wizard Organizer Model OZ-590A. Can anyone tell me if this will work? It came with a USB cable but don't know if you can transfer from...
  10. That may be the one I'm looking for. Thanks for your help!
  11. This is for whoever posted the recipe about melting a hershey kiss (I believe) on top of a Glutino pretzel, etc. I have searched for it, but with no success. It sounded great and I'd love to try it. Thanks.
  12. I've eaten the Glutino pretzels several days the past week with no problem.
  13. Hi Kaiti, celiac3270 sent me the Delphi list quite awhile ago but my old computer bit the dust and I did not get my files transferred to the new one. If it's not too much trouble, would you mind sending it to me? My husband got me a PDA for Christmas so I could put the list on it for grocery shopping. Thanks so much! My email is rldter@rtccom.net

    ARCHIVED Grieving

I think pizza was the hardest for me to give up. But I buy the Amy's Rice Crust Pizza and put additional cheese, pepperoni, onion, spices, etc. on it and it helps the craving. This time of year is also difficult with all the gluten-filled foods that are around every corner.
  15. I found a store about an hour from my home that had a whole aisle plus lots of other gluten-free foods that i had only seen online. It felt like Christmas and hitting the lottery!!! I was so excited. My husband even got excited for me. I try to go there once a month now and I always find something new. THe only problem is I spend too much money!
  16. My mother suffers from obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Her obsessive thoughts were of my dad dying. She could not get that picture out of her head. Prozac is absolutely the only thing that helps her live a normal life. BTW, my father is still living.

    ARCHIVED Bone Health

I am presently nursing a broken bone in my right foot (second metatarsal). Apparently, I broke it back in August but no clue how. It began swelling and causing alot of pain. Dr. had an xray done and said it didn't show anything so on the second visit he gave me a shot in the top of my foot stating I had an inflamed nerve. After the third visit, he sent...
  18. I am also thankful for this forum. I have learned so much more about this disease and how to deal with it than I ever did from any doctor, GI or otherwise. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to my knowledge!
  19. I am also so very sorry. A few days ago, I also lost a friend and co-worker. She was 55 yrs old and had beaten breast cancer and her first round of leukemia. The leukemia had returned and complications from it took her life. It is difficult to walk past her room every day. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
  20. I am so frustrated also with my weight gain since going totally gluten-free. Most of the clothes in my closet no longer fit so I have to wear the same things over and over. No money for new wardrobe (2 sons in college). My stomach usually is bloated looking pregnant. I am fairly certain I am totally gluten-free so I don't understand the deal. It doesn...

    ARCHIVED Visit To A Dietitian

Good luck seeing a dietician. When I was diagnosed, mine was pretty much worthless (not as a person, but as an advice giver). She told me I could eat Rice Krispies (they have malt). When I questioned her on it, she said "well, I don't know." She never really offered to help me figure things out. After two visits, I didn't return. A dietician who specializes...
  22. I also am experiencing significant weight gain since going gluten-free. Now, I am unable to exercise as I have an inflamed nerve in my foot and don't know how long it will take to heal. What digestive enzymes do you recommend and should I stop taking the l-glutamine since it causes weight gain? Thanks.
  23. Finally got my sons to get the blood tests. I am agitated b/c I specifically stated that I wanted them to have the full celiac panel. When they went to the lab, they also stated they wanted it. Our local hospital sends the blood to a hospital in a larger city to be tested. They DID NOT do the full panel b/c they said the first part of the test did not...
  24. Looking for advice on how to take various meds/supplements. I know many of you are on various things. I was wondering how you take them so to prevent stomach upset. I only take Fosamax once a week so that's not a problem. I am also taking l-glutamine, multi-vitamin, and 4 citracal per day. No suggestions from doctor as to how to take these. Should I...
  25. I normally do very well on my gluten-free diet and accept it as my life. However, last week I had my "non-caring" moment. I was fixing taco salad, thought I still had a packet of gluten-free taco seasoning, but didn't. My dear husband, who is very supportive, went to the store to get me a packet. We live in a small town and the selection is very poor...
