  1. its only my guess that Spirulina would not do much at all to help... isnt Spirulina good for vitamin A &/or vitamin K? but i dont know about iodine. kelp is great for iodine. so how off were your numbers??? now let me just share my AMATEUR opinion. from what ive learned from doctors i respect, and a recent visit i had with an alternative doctor...
  2. hey- im only ASSUMING from her signature that she may have used Enterolab.com ?? but please dont quote me, and hopefully she responds. i used Enterolab
  3. right just like matisse said... your husband could still have a DQ8.. but your daughter only has one- and she had to have gotten it from u, cause you have 2. so your husband COULD have a DQ8 OR a DQ2.. but because of your daughter only having 1... then your husband's 2nd gene either has to be a different DQ gene like 1,3,7,9, etc...
  4. hey msCurious: so, yes, of course- Iga deficiency is common in Celiacs... so if you had it, then your TTG Iga result would be innaccurate- BUT- you wrote in this post that your TTG Igg was also negative. so they already did test your IGG to be sure. but then again- i also heard on this forum one time that you could be Igg deficient.. but i dont know much...
  5. you can have a negative on your biopsy and still have celiac... villi destruction can be patchy- if your doc didnt take enough biopsies from different areas- he could have missed something. if your bloodwork is pretty positive- (even tho many docs say you have to have the biopsy gold standard)- than you have your proof
  6. i know you're right.. and im concerned and trying to hold tight- but some days im absolutely dying
  7. MsCurious: DEFINITELY get a NEW doctor- this one is a huge A$$.. and u dont want to waste ur time & money on the scope- we all guarantee that he'll take ONE biopsy then stamp u a negative... what an a$$... so so annoying.. i wish i could have been with u at ur appointment, i would have taught him a thing or two and dont feel bad- ive had a...
  8. yes in my opinion- it could most definitely be from having celiac, yet continuing to eat gluten. my mom and i have both had congested gall bladders (as well as hashi). eating gluten when your body isnt designed for it can lead to all kinds of things. why did u go back to gluten after positive blood tests?? remember- fatty liver doesnt have to have any...
  9. my guess is that we dont have to have 2 genes related to celiac/gluten intolerance- from other people's results ive seen on here. so, he may have NO gluten related genes OR he might have (for example: a DQ8 & a DQ1)... then your daughter would have gotten her 1 DQ8 from u, and a DQ1 from the dad. did that make sense? or lets say he only had 1 DQ gene...
  10. i bought mine in the refridgerated section at Chamberlains. ive also seen them at a local organic market/shop/cafe. i havent looked at whole foods yet good luck
  11. OMG!! you've never had a Krispie Kreme????!!!!!!!!!!!!!! omg i miss those so so so so so much (((((( i used to buy a dozen and just go on a binge panini's are actually something u can recreate at home with gluten free bread- and have it taste pretty good. ohhhhhh Krispie Kreme
  12. there CAN be a link.... for me- gluten never affected my cycles- except maybe make them worse. but i was pretty regular even with my hypothyroid. but ya- there have been many studies linking gluten to female problems including PCOS, Endometriosis, Fibroids, etc... but also- Thyroid disorders are very likely to affect your cycles and your fertility....
  13. what's an MMA??
  14. well, i dont want to start an ugly debate on here- but i am a firm firm believer in the bloodtype diet. i am a type O- and so the atkins diet felt fabulous to me. of course i ate a pretty healthy version.. i never ate pork cooked in pig fat with bacon, etcccc... i always ate a steak with a bowl of spinach.. or an omelette with lots of veggies. according...
  15. i would assume that the corn flour, cornmeal, and rice bran oil could all be possibly contaminated. they're pretty iffy ingredients- and it seems like instead of making sure they're pure or tested at <20ppm.. they just label it: may contain wheat ingredients. and all the above may be processed on the same equipment. just my guess. the ingredients...
  16. quite possible yes... before i had ever even heard of celiac or gluten intolerance-> i had actually had HUGE success going on Atkins & then The Bloodtype Diet (with both i took out all complex carbs ESP. wheat)- but i still had soy sauce and stuff (cause i didnt know)... anyways before i took wheat out of my diet.. from about the age of 14-28.. i had...
  17. yep- you sound like another very intelligent celiac.com member we really have to be on top of things- cause just like your experience and ours- these docs havent even heard of some of these things. my sis in law had her B12 in the 200s.. but she ended up in the ER with Panic Attacks and Peripheal Neuropathy. so, good for u, for spotting the B12. in...
  18. hey- im on Armour 60mg right now... but on hard days at work- i take another 5mcg Cytomel in the afternoon (dont tell my endo)... its just on HARD days- cause i know the 60 is not enough... but im trying to sit tight for my bloodwork in 2 weeks. concerning your story- might a pill in between 60 & 120 be a good idea for u?? or do they not make it...
  19. YES- i had read this before, but couldnt re-find it. thanks. very interesting, huh?
  20. the DH on your face- is it itchy?? im asking for my bff. hers burn, but dont itch.. and we're not sure what they are...
  21. how long have u been gluten free?? are u all healed up? here are my thoughts: if you are a Celiac or person with Gluten Intolerance, and you have been gluten free, and you have a normal immune system (meaning you make adequate amounts of Iga, and have enough healthy gut flora)-> then u should be no less healthy than the next person. but- if you...

    ARCHIVED Low Weight

im sorry... you ladies are speaking a different language no?? i have never ever in my whole life had this problem. if it will help u at all: the more complex carbs i eat- the harder it is for me to lose weight. good luck, i guess maybe you should get your fat percentage tested... women should be AT LEAST over 11% body fat... as long as you...
  23. that's all he did???? thats not enough- and its possible that 2 week challenge may not have been enough for u.. it looks like your TTG Iga is Negative... and your Iga serum is within range-> which means your immune system is working well... and that any Iga test u get should be accurate. but u did not have any Antigliadin antibodies tests...
  24. o...m....g..... SOME doctors really do have A$$-Backwards... Lord have mercy... yes, one can REALLY go completely gluten free... and YES DH CAN go away... but DH is a lot more stubborn than excema.. and u really can have DH ANYWHERE... i had it on my stomach & forearms... my GI was perplexed- because he said- "well noone ever has it on the stomach"....
