r u going to TAMPA ? or Virginia??? i really hope members have some good advice here- as i used to really LOVE going to the one in Tampa- and i dream that one day they make a gluten-free version or gluten-free crust to their cheesecake- cause i think their cheesecake is the best
  2. thanku i sometimes take things very personally- ive been going back to my paranoid/sensitive thoughts lately- and i KNOW it's in part because my doc switched me to Armour at a LOWER dose
  3. generally, i avoid products that share the same equipment. and i usually do eat products made in the same facility. that being said- there are times im sure- where i just have to experiment-> maybe it's on the same equipment- or maybe there's no gluten ingredients but there's also no special "gluten free" label... and i just have to try sometimes- because...
  4. i know that dextrose and lactose are not proteins.. i know they are sugars. my point was that i dont think it was a crazy question about wondering if they put gluten in injectables- because corn and dairy byproducts hurt some of us- and they put those in injectables. im not a medical professional and dont know anything about whether or not a "protein" can...
  5. did u say- "already made patties" ?? but NOT the ones in the box? so the meat dep. people made them? cause i was gonna add that those ones in the boxes- or the premade burgers that MOST restaurants serve now- give me the worst stomach ache- they're so bad quality- that they have to overcook them- im assuming they're made of "factory beef" meaning they come...
  6. i dont react to certified gluten free oats. as far as dove- i think ive only had milk & dark- and i think ive been fine. i THINK most or all sodas are gluten-free...idk.. ive only had Diet coke with splenda, Publix brand diet cola with splenda, publix brand diet lemon lime soda- all fine and YES- i HAVE reacted to SOME products at <20ppm- particularly...
  7. hhmm interesting... u mean the t3 uptake isnt useful? i was assuming that it meant how our body & cells are using the t3? but i could totally be making that up
  8. thanks for explaining... but im still a little confused because of all the different opinions and advice people have. i even spoke with a lady at whole foods the other day who said i had to be strict on the lotions because our skin absorbs quite a bit (and dont we put hormone patches, and nicotine patches on our skin- and they get absorbed?) and its not...
  9. im confused- you and another poster above reiterated that only meds given by mouth need to be gluten free. ive read this before on this forum- but why- does it not matter at all if they inject something with gluten into your bloodstream- when members post on here almost everyday about using body lotions & soap with NO gluten??? this doesnt make sense...
  10. ok, im a little confused cause everytime i went for thyroid tests- they tested for different things- so i hope i jot everything down correctly: Thyroid Peroxidase Ab (TPO) -> main Hashimoto's ab Antithyroglobulin Ab -> present in both Hashi & graves Thyroid Stimulating Immunoglobulin (TSI)-> Grave's ab TSH T4 free T3 free T3 uptake...
  11. lol- love the shoutout- thanks for thinking of me as an "expert" i consider myself an expert in feeling like crap- but i honestly learn most of my stuff from all you guys nutmeg: boy do we all know how you feel- i can hear the anxiety in your post- and can SO relate to that- i relate right now- i feel like my hypo AND hyper symptoms have been getting...

Hi Cass: See http://www.lowdosenaltrexone.org/ for information about LDN, what it helps and precautions for using it while taking thyroid supplements.

  13. absolutely yes- you can be overweight and be gluten intolerant! many of us including me had extra weight when eating gluten. that being said- there may be other things involved too- you may be like some of us that need to eat very "paleo".. meaning no gluten AND very low carb/grain/starch.. for health & weight reasons.. or you may have an underactive...
  14. RUDI's is my favorite big time... almost too good. just BE CAREFUL when u buy it- because there is ALSO a Rudi's that makes Spelt bread. i prefer Rudi's to Udi's, BUT, when we went to The Melting Pot i brought Udi's white gluten-free bread with me- and it was PERFECT for the cheese fondue.. it kinda fell apart- but it tasted DELISH
  15. apart from making sure everything they give him is gluten free... i dont THINK there's anything different with anesthesia... ???? i had tubes put in my ears as a toddler AND a tonsilectomy.. i dont think they had to do anything different?? ive only been under "twilight" as an adult, and they didnt have to do anything out of the ordinary. i wonder...
  16. oh nevermind, i cant write what i was gonna write, cause i dont wanna curse you but i can totally relate to u- i wanted an OFFICIAL DIAGNOSIS so that my immediate family would get tested. and yes- i am still struggling with getting my family and their docs to do a celiac panel my dad is going to Mayo this week for full checkups... i gave him...
  17. SO interesting... i never had a prob with carrots EVER... and now, since going gluten free, i have developed an allergy to raw carrots!!! what the h is up with that??? so weird
  18. if you can eat apples and feel fine, you probably dont have an issue with fructose (part of the FODmap diet)- BUT i honestly have to say- that in the past i could SOMETIMES get away with an apple- but a pear would give me so much pain, i would wish i could have an epidural. im sorry you're having to stick to so few foods... im wondering IF part of the...
  19. thanks for the shoutout good for you for being strong and for taking the time to write that letter- i agree- it will probably go over his head... question- have you not been 100% gluten free yet?? were you waiting till testing was done?? im just curious- cause my body definitely went thru changes when i changed my diet. it went through a lot of changes...
  20. instead of eating pineapple or drinking pineapple juice- you could just take Bromelain (the digestive enzyme from pineapple) or Papaya Enzyme tablets. also- you could experiment later with drinking PURE pineapple juice with NO Ascorbic Acid added... sometimes that acid is what irritates everyone. i cant answer about the maltase- but as i have many many...
  21. the cramping i get from too much fructose is worse than pain i got from gluten. usually. pain wise i would rather go with a piece of pizza than have a pear. big time.
  22. i totally understand what you mean... when i first self dx and ONLY thought i had Celiac... i didnt think that pregnancy should be ruled out at all... no reason to consider yourself less than... then i was dx with Hashimoto's.... big deal i thought- plenty of people have babies with this- its a little more complicated- but it's totally do-able then i got...
  23. imho... her ttg is for sure positive which i would assume and self diagnose her as celiac or AT THE VERY LEAST Gluten Intolerant. her EMA was negative- but the EMA test is a very difficult one- has to be done by a skilled technician, and they can easily fudge it. its of course up to you two- how to proceed with your doctor, if you really need the biopsy...
  24. wow! cool! thanku
