u know what also helps with energy (healthy energy)- is NONI juice- i used to take that daily- i would get the Tahitian noni (name brand with blueberry nectar), OR the one from Vitamin world (with Agave or Raspberry Nectar)... all the other brands taste like $*** or battery fluid. Anyways- i used to take about 1 tbsp to a 1/4 cup every morning. and you...

then i would say- if you are ok with not a solid diagnosis- then stay off of the gluten- back to the thyroid: your doc uses the words "just okay", huh? that doesnt sound good. let me just share- that i just got diagnosed with Hashimoto's AND Grave's.. in Oct. my TSH was 11.39. but in 2006 my TSH was 4.64. now my PCP didnt say anything cause back then...

if your thyroid checkups are "normal", but you're still tired and cold- it's quite possible that your numbers are in fact not normal-> many doctors still think if your TSH is below 5.00 than you're fine... when in fact- if it's not below 3 or 2, you could still be suffering. or, its possible that you are only on a T4 supplement and that your body may...

have u been given a complete Celiac panel????? do your doctors even consider that Gluten Intolerance can lead to Iron deficiency?????? you need to have a complete Celiac panel- but also have to be eating enough gluten prior to testing (4-6 slices of bread a day for 4-6 weeks).... its hard to tell someone to do this- as it makes some extremely sick.....

ARCHIVED Maybe It's Not Gluten Intolerance?
cassP replied to AndyGee's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
were you eating enough gluten before your celiac screen??? and how complete was the screen? you should request a copy of your test results- if they only tested for 1 antibody then it was not a complete test. many celiacs actually dont even have 1 single stomach issue- so complete testing is really important- also- you said you didnt know if you... -
okay- its sunday night, and ive been on the net.. cause im suffering big tonight- still confused as ever... but ive been reading tonight that excess iodine suppplementation is a big no no for Grave's and sends them into overdrive (and ive got Grave's ) ive been major HYPERTHYROID past 2 days but Iodine supplementation can reverse Fibrocystic...

i think most of us will agree that we feel pretty damn good- and have found substitutes for almost everything- that even taste better... and that its more the convenience that hurts the most... i mean- what am i gonna do the next time i go to a music festival... or have been waiting in line all day, and am STARVED... im gonna have to eat the melted gluten...

have you had your antibodies tested???? what were all your thyroid numbers like??? have you been officially diagnosed? or does your doc just think you have a "sluggish" thyroid??? there are all kinds of things to take for the thyroid besides just something with iodine. like i said- im eating 3 brazil nuts a day for the selenium. selenium lowers the antibodies...

ARCHIVED Fructose Malabsorption ? What Are Your Symptoms?
cassP replied to cahill's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
or you could focus more on fruits with a higher sucrose content... you could mix a 1/2 RIPE banana with raspberries & blueberris... pineapple is great too, and the bromelain helps with digestion. i like to JUICE Spinach with Pineapple- i can drink a good amount of that with no issues. -
ARCHIVED gluten-free And Eating Disorders
cassP replied to kyga2's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
i would think that whatever you discuss with a psycologist/counselor should be CONFIDENTIAL, no??? i mean if you're worried- you should not write it down on any paperwork- even paperwork the counselor gives u- because you do sign away "medical information" for insurance purposes.. but i would think if you discuss medical information in a session- it should... -
i used to work at a japanese restaurant- and they used rice vinegar with the rice to make it more sticky. ive only had sushi out maybe 3 times since going gluten free last july- and i just stick with rolls with avocado, shrimp, cucumber, cream cheese.. real crab IF they have it. i bring my own gluten free soy sauce, and i just assume they put rice vinegar...

i THINK that its possible that it doesnt always have to itch... because the DH bumps on my arm sometime only burn. also- Celiac and Gluten Intolerance can also cause Excema, Psoraisis, Dandruff, Acne... almost anything with the skin.. at least thats been my experience. *but ive had some stubborn excema on my knuckles (even whilst being gluten-free)...

ARCHIVED Fructose Malabsorption ? What Are Your Symptoms?
cassP replied to cahill's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
i have issues with fructose & excess fructans... but i dont get major "D".. just excruciating stabbing gas pains, bloating, and almost feeling like i have a bladder infection. i dont get any nausea.. i DO get nausea from eating a banana BY ITSELF, apple juice, or orange juice. -
ARCHIVED Cocoa Puffs
cassP replied to Kolla's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
seriously?? i mean- i KNOW and believe how toxic it is - but i didnt know it was banned in some countries- i swear its in everything here- i KNOW it was in some of the candy i put out for halloween- cant remember if it was Reeces Peanut Butter cups, or Kitkats ???? that's interesting- i wonder if thats why in Japan- the kitkats are made by Nestle instead... -
ARCHIVED Question About Genetics
cassP replied to salexander421's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
agreed. i personally think all the DQ genes carry a potential risk- but maybe need more triggers- just my opinion. -
ok, read some of it.. im not so sure im sold on it- yet i am concerned. his reasoning that the iodine activates the TPO enzyme and therefore aggravates the antibodies... it sounds plausible and scary.. but isnt it possible that it activates the enzyme to work- and then if they thyroid is working, then the antibodies would calm down, no? to me it's like-...

ill check that link after i eat... but the doctors that i respect totally say the iodine helps. my suspicion lies with the Synthroid.. so many people have gotten worse on Synthroid-> whether they also have Grave's like me? or they have a RT3 problem, or if Synthroid really is as bad as all the health people are saying.. idk.. but ill look at that...

ARCHIVED Can You Have Celiacs Even If Nobody In Your Family Does?
cassP replied to fozbery's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
of course its POSSIBLE for noone in your family to have it- but i think its rather likely that more in your family & extended family do. your mother's "IBS" & fatigue sounds very much like Celiac or Gluten Intolerance. also know- that most Celiacs have no stomach issues at all and would never suspect having it. or they may have some Neurological... -
