  1. i really really really hope you're wrong.. somehow.. this is what i take too i DID call them last year about the red caplets.. she said the starch was "Corn Gluten".. i have never noticed any reaction to the liquid advil.. is it possible the person you spoke with on the phone was mistaken?? do we now have to look for anything with polysorbate??? like...
  2. oh i cant help u here... i just developed what i believe to be OAS after going gluten free- but to be honest- i dont think it had anything to do with me going gluten free. it happened almost immediately after i got dx with Hashimotos (and later Graves too)... and got on Thyroid meds... then i became allergic to certain foods... but not all the time, and usually...
  3. u should at least cut most of it out... it's not healthy for u... hope u get more helpful replies
  4. this is a tuff one.. only because once u go 100% gluten free- your body seems to be more hypervigilant and then your reactions from eating it *COULD* become more extreme. ??? but at the same time- if you are gluten intolerant or have Celiac-> then, continuing to eat gluten could harm your baby. Not because it will go thru the placenta and hurt the baby...
  5. im assuming your stored iron in the bone marrow is FERRITIN... and if yes, 8 is WAY tOO LOW, and could most definitely be causing your RLS. now, why do u have the LOW FERRITIN?? could it be Celiac? do u have Hashimoto's Hypothyroid?? (both these diseases impair your digestive system's ability to absorb iron)... or do u have any kind of bleeding disorder...
  6. oh i would really really like to know some good answers to your question- as i FEEL UR PAIN BIG TIME... my immune system needs to settle the F down... i was REALLY looking forward to perhaps trying Low Dose Naltrexone... i dont really want to be on more drugs- but im so sick of my intestines freaking out to EVERYTHING that remotely could be mistaken for gluten...
  7. Pixeleen: i havent noticed the "swelling/bloating" when i get accidentally glutened... just even more pain & intestinal bloating and bowel issues than i do with fructose, excess dairy, and excess grains.. before i went gluten free- yes, the wheat would put weight on me like crazy i DO notice the "feeling fat" and that my clothes are suffocating...
  8. YES, sorry :/ i misspoke
  9. my thoughts are- that really it just depends on the individual doctor- my endo is actually way better than my pcp- and is semi willing to work with me- she's not completely open minded to everything that thyroid disease involves- but she's better than most docs in that she listens to me and she has me on Armour and Cytomel.. but you may find that you work...
  10. this reminds me of the Mystery Diagnosis with the little boy who had Celiac- the clip is on youtube somewhere- and the little boy would stare off into space and make weird clicking sounds with his mouth- they thought he had autism, but then discovered the Celiac- the mom had Celiac, but the docs never explained to her that it could be passed down genetically...
  11. i agree with everyone above- you may have had a false positive, OR your doc only tested for TTG and then called it a day. you need to have all 3 antibodies tested- my only solid positive was the Endomysial Antibody. i had Celiac and IBS symptoms off and on since age 14, but i didnt start getting the mucous material you talk about it untill around age...
  12. im sure it could be only related to gluten, as gluten can affect u neurologically. my own experience is that is ended up being a symptom of Graves'. it got worse on antidepressants strangely, and it got better with my thyroid meds (i have both Hypo & Hyper). **maybe you should get a full thyroid panel and the 3 antibodies tested if you can get your...
  13. i second Burdee above... have u had a complete thyroid checkup??? and actually- u can also have heat intolerance with Hashimoto's hypothyroid alone. not everyone gets cold... or feels cold. maybe that's because hypothyroid can exhaust the adrenals... or maybe its because some of us with hashimotos dont sweat like normal people so then we just feel hot...
  14. are u a man???? are u in the States?? just curious cause your Ferritin looks too high... it MAY be ok if you're a man, but for a woman- that's too high... unless you're overseas and i dont know those measurements... ??? *ALSO- your TTG may be "negative".. but that's only 1 of 3 Antibody tests used to screen for Celiac... it is not enough to test ONE antibody...
  15. hey- i took a generic Armour for 1 month but dont remember it being called "Pork Thyroid"... anyways, in my personal experience- i did not notice a difference between generic & brand. i DID notice that difference on generic cytomel. hope your switch works for you.... crazy insurance companies
  16. i didnt get my 1st patch of DH untill 2 weeks after i went 100% Gluten free over a year ago... at age 37. it lasted for 4 months then finally cleared up... this whole time i was gluten free. doctors dont know everything obviously. they're even more clueless when it comes to Thyroid Disease about 6 or 7 months after going gluten free- i suspected an...
  17. i dont have ideas for substitutes, BUT im curious how exactly they identified your igg allergy to black pepper... cause i have read that black pepper can be bothersome to some because it has a mold on it, but that if you grind it fresh it may be tolerable.. but i really dont know anything about Igg allergy testing & identification, etc... just thought...
  18. yes of course u have genes from birth to death, that's why i did not understand your question/comment about my DQ8s being a result of my antibodies...they would not be a result of anything other than what happened at conception
  19. my celiac panel was done by my PCP & Gi... blood. and zero- as in - i had NONE Antigliadin Antibodies.... none whatsoever. oh wait- it might have been a 2 ??? but it was definitely negative. im not sure what your DQ8 question means? the genes always come first- they would not be the result of my antibodies. i DID do my genetics test thru Enterolab...
  20. thanks for the tip!!! i would not be surprised at all if you're right... just not sure how i'd ever give up dairy :/
  21. i have the pain a lot too- mostly on the left side... also from under the ribs down the hip... but i also have muscular pain/issues too... my diaphraghm, iliopsoas, and mostly every muscle in my trunk is WHACKED from being a massage therapist and gasping for air from my thyroid breathing issues. sometimes im not sure tho if the pain is starting from...
  22. yes, i had absolutely ZERO AGA... a very LOW positive TTG... and a Positive EMA.. i had all the symptoms, and once i got my genetic test back (double DQ8), i decided to self diagnose. right after i went gluten free-> i got my first case of DH that lasted for 4 months.... so do not let the doctors fool u- this disease is never "textbook"
  23. oh yes- gluten intolerance can cause &/or exacerbate many many skin disorders- including excema, psoraisis, acne, dandruff.. etc.. all excema i had in the past would disappear when i removed wheat from my diet (not even all gluten).... i am now gluten free- and my excema on my knuckles is STILL there- but my system is so so so much more sensitive then...
  24. ok, i cant guarantee a "gluten free" status... but my sis & i went to Michael's Genuine in the Fashion District- it is HIGH end.. and DELISH.. sometimes on the food network.. a tad pricey- but so high quality and worth it. they did not have a gluten free menu, but i told the waiter that i had to be gluten free- and i ordered the Grass Fed double burger...
  25. oh NOOOOO why does everyone keep switching from peanut to canola????? its not healthier- canola oil turns carcinogenic at high temperatures, and peanut does not
