  1. ahhh, then u might want to look into helping your stomach with the acid problem... you could start with just a little Betaine HCI w/ Pepsin, and Digestive Enzymes. start with just 1 of the Betaine HCI, (you wanna proceed with caution- as these are almost identical to stomach acid. some people cannot tolerate the Betaine at all- so they are encouraged to...
  2. 1st: you should still get your iron/ferritin checked. my Endo ran a CBC, said everything looked good- and no signs of Anemia... i asked my PCP for the test anyways- and my ferritin was below range- enough to be contributing to my palpitations & S.O.B. .... so just make sure to cross all your Ts.. 2nd- i HOPE you're right about the adrenals- as i...
  3. i vote both. plus i bet there are even more reasons for additional food intolerance.... like SIBO, a recent H Pylori infection, LOW Stomach acid, etc... i recently learned this week that Hypothyroid patients tend to have LOW stomach acid- which makes perfect sense now- with all the problems with digestion my mother and i have had. and my Endo prescribed...
  4. H Pylori is a BIG deal- and may not simply go away with diet change and probiotics- in fact it mostly will not go away without intervention. im not so sure i would suggest for everyone to do Aloe Vera juice- it can be bad for some people.. anyways- usually western docs treat H Pylori with STRONG antibiotics for 6 weeks. sometimes 2 different kinds. its...
  5. ya, its ridiculous how bout things like iron & ferritin, vitamin D, B12, etc... oh and adrenals? have u had these things checked? ive been on the Stop the Thyroid Madness forums a lot - and learning a lot- but it's still so very complicated. apparently if all these things are off- then our thyroid symptoms can be a lot worse than they have to be...
  6. thanku everyone for your replies! Sue: i was concerned about the Celiac because it seems my digestive tract is RIDICULOUSLY SENSITIVE. i got glutened over 3 weeks ago ( im suspecting PF CHANGS)- and i am STILL recovering... also Sue- when u talk about changing your doses, and then doing T3 only for a short period of time- how did your doctor feel...
  7. yes- i too heard that around 20% of Celiacs get DH. i think getting a correct statistic on how many have Celiac, and how many have DH is so difficult- cause most people go undiagnosed- and then think about DH- most people have never heard of it, and many Dermatologists dont even know what it is- so it could be higher ?????
  8. that is totally strange that it's happening with the paleo... maybe its a coincidence. your low ferritin can cause hair loss good luck!!!
  9. ps- i eat tomatoes, tomato paste, and bolognese ALL THE TIME, it had no effect on my DH in the past. i recently got the itch again on my stomach after what i believe was a glutening from PF CHANGS 3 weeks ago- and ive had a ton of citrus- it has not aggravated the DH at all. just my experience
  10. Low Dose Naltroxene ???? would like to know experienced input from members on here with Celiac, and maybe also Thyroid Disease. Hi, i am REALLY struggling right now- i have way too many debhilitating symptoms that often keep me secluded in my home i have Celiac and BOTH: Hashimoto's & Grave's. while the Armour is helping with many of my hypo symptoms...
  11. hey skylark- yes- i have just learned about the fluoride connection since being diagnosed last fall. its pretty awful. but i was under the assumption that water fluoridation was completely nationwide, no???? i have heard recently that NY is taking steps to no longer fluoridate the water, and i saw something recently in florida- that they want to not remove...
  12. i dont know of any correlation... but have you had your thyroid checked??? are you already diagnosed with Celiac? or any autoimmune Thyroid condition? or LOW IRON or LOW FERRITIN?? or a vitamin D or B12 deficiency??? all of these things could cause hair loss.... and once a deficiency is pronounced or an autoimmune disease has started to progress-> diet...
  13. ya- many of us can relate to the stronger reactions you're talking about. i think the immune system becomes more vigilant when you take it out... someone smarter than me on here wrote about a certain type of cell that the immune system starts making when we go gluten free- so the reactions will be more amped up. i honestly think without having the medical...
  14. what about watermelon??? that is also really good for the prostate- comparable to tomatos i think- ALTHO tomato PASTE has the most lycopene. Wheat has a HUGE negative effect on the prostate- but also like you mentioned- the constipation. my brother had painful Prostatitis too- from constipation from medication... he had all kinds of tests to make sure his...
  15. i dont know... but i'll just share that eye problems seem to be common in Autoimmune Disease.. of course we know that MS, and Diabetes can affect the eyes. i dont know about Celiac, but i also have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, and Grave's Hyperthyroid- BOTH can put pressure on the eyes- which i suffered a lot from before meds. GLUTEN also aggravates Hashi &...
  16. i am very much like "srall"... as in, it affects me similar to gluten, but goes away quicker- and i dont react to trace amounts like i would with gluten. my symptoms are intestinal cramping, pain, a little tachycardia and hbp, little itchy, a little bit nasal allergies (maybe i also have a little allergy??, but no hives)
  17. i know its really hard to eliminate more foods- i have my addictions- dairy, sugar, carbs.. but sometimes in the beginning- is when you need to be more strict- because you're so inflamed- then later you could add things back in- to see what the culprits are. the first month i went a little crazy with all the "gluten free" cookies, cereals, breads, etc, etc...

    ARCHIVED Psoriasis

sorry if i sound like a dumba$$... but even when i look at all the pictures- i honestly cannot tell you if what i had on my foot years ago was excema or psoraisis.. but it was BAD- i first had it on the inside of my foot at age 8. went away, came back in my 20s for OVER 5 YEARS!!!! it was disgusting- i wore socks ALL THE TIME.. and itched 24/7... i would...
  19. do NOT eat the oats-they're contaminated. as far as eating Certified Gluten Free Oats, and Corn- that will be for you to find out. technically, the glutinous protein in oats and corn is not the same as gliadin. the reality is- that even tho it is not the same gluten, a good percentage of Celiacs and those with Gluten Intolerance cannot tolerate one or...

    ARCHIVED Sugar?

when u said the gluten free brownie bothered u- i immediately thought that gluten free flour would be the culprit- at least it is for me. i dont know what you used- but SO MANY of those gluten free starchy flours bother many of us!! sorghum, tapioca, potato, garbanzo bean, corn, etc... i can get away with small amounts sometimes- but many times- it almost...
  21. agree with sawyer- without the ranges- we're kind of guessing. that being said- first off- most doctors only test for DQ2 and DQ8- so your negative HLA gene test doesnt necessarily mean anything- as there are people with Celiac and NonCeliac gluten intolerance without those 2 genes. your other numbers look negative to weak positive im GUESSING. your Iga...
  22. i sneak Almond M&Ms into the movie ALL THE TIME.. cause i cant digest peanuts AT ALL- i can do regular m&Ms, but almonds are my favorite... i havent had a problem. i also sneak caffeine free dc w/splenda in with me, cause i cant do HFCS, Aspartame or unnceccesary caffeine... God help the movie theater employee that tries to tell me i cant bring my...
  23. thanku irish girl im very into health, but dont always eat how i preach... i have company in town again and we wanted pf changs- so i got it... so far so good... but i DO have to get back OFF the soy for the thyroid. anyways... i guess i could ask for a SIBO test- but im afraid of it being a fiasco ... i already have a few more battles before that...
  24. you just have to find out what works for you REGARDLESS of what others say... as long as you're GLUTEN FREE, who cares which route u take to find out if you need additional changes to your diet. i dont FORCE the Bloodtype Diet down everyone's throat- i only share once in a blue moon if it might help. i cant tell you how many times i bite my tongue just so...
  25. your TTG Iga is your TTG iga antibodies. your "sufficient" Iga is your "total Iga serum" (im assuming).
