  1. oh u r not alone!! I feel the same as u- 1/2 the time i ask them to change their gloves, and then other times im too embarrased. Cant tell if ive ever had cc cause i also get similar symptoms w/ fructans and if i overdo the peppers and onions, im in trouble. Dont beat on urself *hugs*
  2. im sorry that i cant relate at all with the speed of gastric emptying... i never had that with gluten.. my D with lactose intolerance was kind of sudden- but things never passed thru me that quickly (except when i had salmonella). BUT- i CAN say- that 75% of the time i canNOT eat Chickpeas at all- they will give me painful cramping. SOMETIMES i can survive...
  3. thanks so much!!! ya- my endo said that if i was anemic- that my CBC would have looked irregular... so thanku for replying- to remind me that maybe my doc doesnt always know.. you're so right. so, next i need to ask for folate & ferritin. so frustrating. i dont want that bone scan- dont they inject u with iodine & barium? and other poisonous crap...
  4. Sue- oh God know- please dont bring the constipation back my hemms have had enough. but thanku for the advice- i will ask my endo for another test in the near future. and i WAS already eating PLENTY of foods with D.. MAYBE i REALLY WASNT getting enough sunlight?? or maybe my thyroid issues screwed it up?? but thanks i will ask and Irish Heart: i had...
  5. a TSH at 117????? or 398???? surely you have that messed up with a different lab order right????? i mean usually when it gets in the teens-> doctors say it can lead to emergency situations. and again- to be having unexplained crazy diarreaha and to have a doctor NOT allow a Celiac panel is just ridiculous. i want to go in and yell at them
  6. oh you're so lucky he's starting you on Armour! my PCP started me on Synthroid only- and i really swung into HYPERTHYROID. i went back to her- panicking and shaking- and said "i KNOW this is not the right medication for me". she said "well we did the labs, and yes this is.... i think there might be something else going on here..".. and then she went in to...
  7. thanku Nutmeg! i will ask for that one. i got my D tested 2 thyroid panels ago. THANK GOD i always have them mail me copies- because i guess my endo & nurse didnt think it was a big deal to tell me that i only had a "26" on the D. ive been taking 6,000 iu of D3 a day for the last 5 weeks? i have no idea what im supposed to be taking- but i AM...
  8. really? i thought of course 2 & 8 were the "classic" genes, but everything ive read said that something like 90 to 95% of Celiacs are DQ2. and only like 5% are DQ8. those arent the exact numbers, but close. of course that's just the official in the box statistic, cause we all know that Celiacs are being diagnosed with other DQ#s.
  9. i second Gemini big time! you're eating a lot of protein- you should feel pretty stable. i only get that shaky hypoglycemic feeling if ive only had carbs all day. i exactly have to have protein &/or fat with every meal. you do need to get things checked with your doctor- to see if there's any other conditions- like Gemini said- autoimmune diseases...
  10. this is all so confusing isnt it? how some Celiacs with NO symptoms have numbers thru the roof- and when i had my tests few years ago- my antigliadin was negative, and my ttg was like a 7. yet i was in quite a bit of pain and was having malabsorption & fatty bms. i wonder if they will identify different additional markers in the future?? have u thought...
  11. what about other grains? especially corn?? and have u also had your vit D tested?? i scored deficient at a 26 and started supplementing- i have to say- i have less muscle spasms- including all my abdominal muscles that were seizing up. it COULD also affect the smooth muscle of your intestines? i hope you get answers and relief soon! oh wait- what...
  12. really mushroom???? interesting. okay- my experience: 10 years ago- when i went 98% wheat free (atkins diet/didnt know anything about gluten)-> my psoraisis, excema, dandruff, and another itchy condition i will not explain completely went away- completely. kept cheating- dandruff came back, and a strange skin issue on my armpits, and later my eyelids...
  13. very interesting. i was concerned about this- but getting so many tests. my endo just ran a CBC and everything looked fine- she said that the CBC would be a little off if i was anemic.. is that true? im assuming i should still get my Iron tested just in case?
  14. 1st off- you said your MOUTH was burning???? ive never felt that ever- that sounds pretty serious- how is that possible?? i mean i know acid can even affect the sinuses- but i have never heard of a mouth burning? that's something i have no expertise in- i hope you get to the bottom of that- yes- taking nexium everyday for years could cause all kinds of...
  15. if any of u guys are still checking this- i wanted to share with u i recently made this: Open Original Shared Link and it was DELISHHHHHHHHHH i only altered slightly- i added a heaping tsp of maple syrup, and i sprinkled powdered sugar on top instead of cocoa powder. YUMMMMM
  16. definitely i believe nexium could cause your issues. just listen to the side effects on the commercial. that stuff is just AWFUL. i wouldnt take any of those pills unless i was in the middle of an ulcer... its really great in the moment- to protect your esophagus & stomach- but in the long run, it will only make all your conditions worse. i was on Zantac...
  17. hey- actually the TSH range is debatable these days. a team of endocrinologists want it changed. i forget the bottom number- but the top limit number is 3. so, ie: if you had a "4" you might very well be hypothyroid, even tho your doc thinks you're normal. that's why antibody tests are such a great idea- that's what they test for with Celiac- the antibodies...
  18. of course i have something to share- as i am one of the few people on here who finds much truth and value in his research. if it wasnt for finding his diet in 1998, i would be much sicker than i was by the time i finally heard about gluten & celiac. i find it fascinating that so many on here proclaim him to be a loon, and then proceed to go thru rounds...
  19. ok, so- you got your T4 & T3 tested, but no TSH?? those 2 are not enough.. if they were- i would remain undiagnosed. and TSH alone is not enough- or many others will remain undiagnosed. ALSO- you need to get tested for all 3 antibodies so you and your doctor will know if you're dealing with any Hashimoto's or Grave's or both. i never realized untill...
  20. well that was very interesting! and a little complicated i agree. i didnt read about a temporary vs. permanent like u did- all i could understand was that one with Celiac would have more of a leaky gut- where has one with Gluten intolerance could have all the symptoms and inflammation- but no break in the gut barrier. and also there was a difference in the...
  21. yes me too- when i had salmonella- i didnt feel sick like u do when u get a "stomach bug" or food poisoning. i had some cramping-- but mostly just nonstop D. i would have to starve all day to make it thru work... id get home and eat cause i was STARVING.. and then i'd have maybe 2 minutes to lie on my stomach, and the rest of the night was in the bathroom
  22. it can most definitely cause mental illness- its definitely worth u looking into. ive been depressed most of my life.. also had an eating disorder.. and semi-suicidal fantasies. later in my 20's and 30's i suffered from panic attacks. i was on Paxil in my 20s for a year- and it really helped me, but wanted to get off. took it again in my 30s- but this...
  23. Leighbra: ya- if corn and other grains dont bother u- u can easily make gluten-free cornbread. we made Pamela's cornbread mix last year for thanksgiving- it was DELISH- i ate it plain with butter, and we used it for stuffing- so yum... but unfortunately- a few days of corn set me back (as i now realize i cant tolerate it) lovetotravel: OMG will u please...
  24. nutmeg- awl you're so sweet to speak so highly of me- i really am just learning as i go- and learning so much on these forums!!!!! i have read on these forums before- several members have had their Hashi # go down after about 5 years gluten free. i also read a study about Selenium- and how after a year of supplementing it- people's Hashi # went down...
  25. what if you're going to Epcot, MGM, or Animal Kingdom?? or do u need to go to the town hall at magic kingdom first- and get lists for all the parks???
