ARCHIVED Probiotic
cassP replied to collgwg's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
probiotics are EXCELLENT for you and can really help your body to be prepared when it encounters infection- but it will not protect you from an intolerance or allergy your body has. -
the fructose in enough of an amount will bloat me up like too much lactose, and make me feel like im gonna get major "D", but the D usually doesnt come till the following day. if too much fructose- it give me HORRIFIC intestinal cramping- just like gluten- and i will be hunched over pillows and heating pad for the rest of the night

dont let my experience for sure ruin your plans. my friend & i went to PF Changs TWICE in one week- 1st on a wednesday- and we ordered Singapore Street Noodles & Beef Fried Rice (off the gluten-free menu)... and it was FABULOUS !!!! SO DELISH, no problem whatsoever. we went back Sunday for the same items... plus, she had a scoop of vanilla ice cream...

ARCHIVED Question About "a Hidden Epidemic"
cassP replied to anna34's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
sometimes your body & instinct is smarter than any doctor... i respect a lot of studies that come out of his center at columbia- but i glanced over his book at whole foods- and he mentions that if you do NOT have a DQ2 or a DQ8 that it is IMPOSSIBLE to have Celiac... and well, we know that isnt true. it doesnt mean i dont respect other things he has said... -

i would eat some gluten for a million dollars. i dont know if i would eat it for a CHANCE for a million dollars. but if it was a done deal- yes. would be worth the pain. i mean- i just got glutened on sunday from PF changs- 2 nights in a row i was on a heating pad and pillows compressing my whole trunk (front side)... groaning and wishing i could have an...

ARCHIVED Help! With Celiac Panel Results
cassP replied to daisymae106's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
your way positive ttg suggests celiac. you do not have to be positive on all your tests. the Iga serum result is "sufficient". this only means that your immune system is working and making adequate amounts of Iga- so that your antibody tests should all be accurrate. dont know if im right on this- but ive read on this forum before a theory that made sense... -
u guys are HILARIOUS i love it... i would love it even more if all the doctors had to read these forums- they might learn a thing or two about a thing or two

ARCHIVED Neuropathy In My Feet Scares Me!
cassP replied to Kimbalou's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
#1 on your list should be to get your B12 levels checked. a B12 deficiency leads to peripheal neuropathy. and you dont have to be below range- my sis in law was only in the 200s and was suffering from this. Always make sure you get a copy of your results so you can learn about the ranges and your results- many times doctors miss something. good luck -
sometimes almond milk bothers me... i seem to be one of those people- where it doesnt matter what kind of milk it is- it still kind of feels like milk in my body. or it could be the fillers they put in almond milk- like carageenan or whatever else they add. agave nectar can bother me too, as i cannot digest too much fructose- yet when i eat vegan gluten...

ARCHIVED Celiac And Colitis
cassP replied to SAVANNAH21's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
i have celiac. and in the 90s i was diagnosed with Colitis. i have no idea if it was Microscopic Colitis, or if it was really a celiac flare up and the doctors guessed Colitis. it was a good decade before my Celiac dx, and it was in Japan... they called it Colitis after deducing there was nothing wrong with me reproductively and by my Xray. ??? i imagine... -
yes- a lot of people have also mentioned dairy aggravating the thyroid- but im overwhelmed right now- i just got the 100% gluten-free thing down, and just started working on the 100% soy thing... but it's hard- i had been dreaming of a gluten-free PFCHangs feast for months- and my bff and i just went this weekend and binged and it was fantastic. i also...

let me first say- that i so agree with everything everyone's posted- great great points- and i find that the members on here seem more in tune than on other health forums (particularly some thyroid forums im in). but- i DO think Celiac will continue to be "on the rise". of course it's been here forever- it's been in a population of the genes since the...

ARCHIVED Advil - Safe Or Not?
cassP replied to zus888's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
i called the company maybe 6 months ago to confirm because of that starch thing- and she read off the ingredients to me- and she said that that starch was "Corn Gluten". so i assume that it is corn- and that it is safe- unless you are corn sensitive. i have a little difficulty with corn- similar to gluten- but it seems to be more mild- and more of a cumulative... -
its because of the potential profit

i would imagine with the way the Big Pharma works- they'll just adapt it into the childhood vaccine schedule across the board- regardless of your genes. ya, with 3 Autoimmune diseases- i'll forgo the vaccine.. really dont want another jolt to my immune system
