  1. 1st- your Endomysial Antibodies were Positive. the EMA is ONLY specific to Celiac. a positive EMA is not associated with anything other than Celiac. 2- you said your Iga was negative- and your doc says you cant have celiac... well if you're Iga deficient- than Iga tests could very easily be false negative. - i agree with ravenwood- in my opinion...
  2. ps- might not be a bad idea too- to go ahead and get the colonoscopy- just to rule out anything else, plus undiagnosed celiac can cause issues in the colon as well- i had one done when i first saw my gastro- and i am GLAD i did- cause its a relief to not let your imagination run wild with all the possibilities down there... plus- if there's any polyps ...
  3. you're not crazy at all to think you could have a problem with gluten. its very frustrating that we sometimes have to "convince" our doctors to test for it... when it really should just be a routine test when anyone has these physical symptoms. like everyone said above- you have more than enough proof to do the diet yourself. if you want a dx or validation...
  4. i think the Goat Milk Yogurt i get is only sweetened with some honey, have u tried that? it tastes better than the rice yogurt too
  5. gleegan- bananas actually can be tolerable with fructose malabsorption- as long as they're more ripe. still im only eating 1/2 a banana at a time. also- your post gives me hope that in less than a year from now, my fructose issues could get better.
  6. im sorry i hope she feels better soon.... so i dont know what the above statement means... could it mean she doesnt have any healthy gut bacteria???? idk... just guessing. if she's got no healthy bacteria in her tract- then she can easily succumb to any bug... idk, hope you guys get answers
  7. ive had that feeling of getting a UTI when i would go back on gluten in the past... and i wonder if that has anything to do with Interstitial Cystitis... its an inflammatory condition that i have seen linked to other autoimmune diseases.
  8. GOOD for you- you have to listen to your body!! are you sure your thyroid was ok??? it's so classic- gluten issues/hair falling out to be your thyroid... or maybe its stress.... but again, sorry , im not a doc. they tested me for Lupus and Sjorgens for a year and a 1/2 when i was a kid.... why they never thought to test for ANY OTHER Autoimmune Diseases...
  9. i read an article a few weeks ago that said Gluten could be found in human breast milk. (plus everyone knows if your child has colic, you should avoid garlic and stuff, cause it passes thru the milk)..... so, of course i believe your son is reacting to foods you're eating that are getting into your milk... and not YOUR breast milk itself. breastfeeding is...
  10. dont know if this makes you feel better- but im not surprised at all by all the other foods you've listed. many of us have many additional food intolerances... its true that after your digestive tract heals- you MAY be able to add some foods back in with no problem- BUT IMHO, some food intolerances may be forever. i can handle dairy better than i used...
  11. are you gluten free?? or were u waiting for these tests first?? my personal opinion and personal experience is that while i was still consuming gluten-> i had reactions to many many many foods... or intolerances. since going gluten free, AND ALSO eating healthy and adding digestive enzymes, etc-> i can handle more and more foods. it's possible...
  12. "a glutenoid" .... HILARIOUS!!! i am totally stealing this
  13. India- 240s is TOO LOW! i think you should take sublinguals and then test your level in a few months... some members say you can overdose, but i think if you test your levels and make sure they're in range, you would be fine. mine was 640- i was shocked cause im so fatigued- but maybe it's my thyroid. for me: i avoid pears, apples, prunes, grapes, dates...
  14. OOOHHH & PS- usually the hair falling out is a symptom of a hypothyroid (which btw many celiacs or family members of celiacs have)- you should get your thyroid checked out!! your PCP can run that easy.. ive been shedding more hair lately... and 4 years ago my TSH was borderline- so im gonna go in for that test soon.
  15. testing is basically the same... im guessing when the doc doesnt see enough of a "gold standard" whether it's a super high ttg number or a positive biopsy, then he or she will label you as "gluten sensitive". some docs may diagnose you as celiac with just your experience on the diet. my doctor wanted a positive biopsy, but my insurance wouldnt cover it....
  16. is bloody noses a symptom that can be associated with celiac?? id really love to know.. i havent had one in YEARS- but when i was a kid, i had them ALL THE TIME!!!!!! it was RIDICULOUS.... it seemed to be on a regular basis.. total routine. it was no surprise to my family when "oh cass has got another bloody nose..."
  17. really???? lordy, people are silly
  18. you need to not only retest your TTG Iga but you need other tests!!!: Total Iga Serum TTG Iga AND Igg Antigliadin Iga AND Igg Endomysial Antibodies. also, the word on this forum- is that you need to be eating AT LEAST 4 slices of bread a day for AT LEAST 6 weeks. TTG Iga is ONLY 1 piece to the puzzle... mine was lower than yours.. also if...
  19. yes- look up fructose malabsorption & the FODMAP diet... i have this to an extent- but i have to tell you- a lot of the times- Fructose Malabsorption &/or Lactose Intolerance go hand in hand with Celiac or Gluten Intolerance. you may need to also get back to eating enough gluten for proper celiac blood panels
  20. i would think Crohns, Colitis, and Diverticulitis would all show up on colonoscopy. your "signature" says your endoscopy was negative after being strict gluten free- that would make it inconclusive. and negative blood tests are common too you're having all these issues, and you do have dq8- so i would assume you're at least gluten sensitive...
  21. may i ask you what your TSH & T4 numbers were BEFORE u got on meds??? i need to retest my thyroid. havent tested since 2006- and back then my TSH was around 4.50 ???
  22. i was always a HEAVY sleeper... and in my 20s- i "overslept" for work on a semi-regular basis... was a great worker- but always got written up for tardiness & attendance. it was very embarrasing & i hated myself. entering into my 30s- i ate gluten free/gluten light on various no carb/low carb diets. i actually woke up better- but never thought of...
  23. ravenwood- would sleeping/waking up issues be neurological??
  24. sounds YUMMMMmmmm
  25. hey- have any of you with GB issues- did you ever have "referred pain" to the ab muscles right above the GB- like severe sharp Ab Muscle spasms??? i KNOW my pain attack the other day was my muscles- i DO have alot of muscle and fascia issues from my job & posture- but it was so excruciating.... and im trying to solve my problems so that i dont have the...
