im sure a moderator will help clear this up for us. the starch is suspicious, but it could be from corn.?? also- a lot of us get intestinal gurgles from Sorbitol and Mannitol ive actually been getting more natural gum from whole foods that is also labeled gluten free... it's been a better experience for me.

ARCHIVED Gluten Intake Before Endoscopy
cassP replied to Skibunny's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
7 days is not long enough. my GI had me do 2 weeks. others on here suggest up to 2-3 months. if i were you, as long as you're not feeling too ill- i would push the procedure to a little later so you can get a more accurate test and make sure they take 6 samples from different areas. good luck -

why do you get upset when someone says "well what did you eat?" ?? it is possible to have other food intolerances & allergies... or it may be a food you're normally ok with- but maybe it points to one of your organs not working properly. im always asking people what they ate- im just trying to help them solve their puzzle -

pain from cooked spinach?? & you're in your 4th month gluten free?? what else did you eat today??? for breakfast? and for lunch with the spinach??? did you drink coffee today? or have dairy? or use any artificial sweeteners? or chew gum with sorbitol?? its just hard to imagine cooked spinach to be a culprit. ?? -

oops, forgot to address the ear question in my pm. i dont have ear reactions to any of my diet or disease issues- BUT- when i was 3- i DID have that procedure where they have to put tubes in your ears... in addition to a tonislectomy & adenoidectomy.... im now suspecting that they immune flair ups may have been the 1st signs of Celiac. but anyways- your... -

AMEN. HCL is identical to stomach acid. also if anyone ever juices BEETS- always mix it with other fruits and veggies- it is just as bad as stomach acid too! i ALREADY KNEW this- and still forgot one day- only drank the beets and burned my esophagus if you cant get to a doc yet, and want to aid in your digestion- try a little apple cider vinegar before... -
ARCHIVED Celiac & Lymphoma ?
cassP replied to cassP's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
just saw my GI today. he said "the medical community wants the positive blood test AND biopsy", but that he's confident with all my tests & symptoms that i have Celiac. i told him i would never go back on gluten for a biopsy, but just wanted my family to get screened. my dad is STILL brushing it off ( i single him out- cause he's the only one in the... -
wow- how do you come to find out all the different parasites you have had??? really good health insurance & a very cool alternative doctor??? id love to have all that info. i was lucky to stumble upon an alternative doc who did the heidelberg test on me- which was GREAT to finally realize i had low stomach acid-> finally broke me of my 4 year Zantac...

ARCHIVED Follow-Up With The Doctor
cassP replied to Cheryl-C's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
i just went to my GI today- and he also is completely aware of common false negatives- im glad to see these docs are becoming more educated to the first poster- im not sure what your doc was exactly communicating-> but i can tell you- that many gluten intolerant people ALSO feel better off most grains. some are totally fine, but others like me feel... -
ARCHIVED Sleep Apnea And Celiac?
cassP replied to BeckyWJ's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
i had my tonsils & adenoids taken out when i was maybe 3. i have Celiac, and im low on Iga. i dont know if there's a known link w/ this or apnea, but i wouldnt be surprised. you might want to have the doctor test his "Total Iga Serum"... it's not diagnostic of Celiac (even tho Iga deficiency is common in Celiacs)- but it would tell you if he has... -
ARCHIVED Could My Husband Have Celiac Disease
cassP replied to AnnaH's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
you both could yes. you never know really... and you cant always tell by the symptoms... you might as well BOTH get tested- it cant hurt really.. its better than not knowing and possibly getting really sick in the future. and even if you both come up negative- the fact that you feel better OFF gluten should motivate you. some Celiacs dont have any gut... -
i really dont know??? but if you had issues in your descending colon- that could make your left side swell more than the rest of the abdomen. but idk. make sure your doc is ruling out everything and checking you're ok ?? ask him if you should have a colonoscopy to check the area... idk, best of luck to you:)

cassP replied to missingpasta's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
i havent tried Udi's stuff yet- nor do i know the ingredients.... but i DO know, whether or not you have a problem with grains & carbs- GLUTEN FREE specialty products have A LOT of not so great ingredients- a lot of calories, and a lot of problematic ingredients. i, personally feel better if i eat more natural foods & only eat the specialty gluten... -

you said on an earlier post that you had your gall bladder removed in the past- its very possible then, that your liver is tired and sluggish.... so i guess your doc needs to check your liver make sure everythings ok.... in the future, as long as your liver is healthy- those tinctures i mentioned can help.... or eating a lot of lemon & olive oil... apples... -
i thought that they could not deny you anymore for pre-conditions??? im no expert on the Pseudo HCR bill that passed- but i thought that was ONE of the few things in it ???? and idk- if the situation in your family is pretty severe- you may just want to get all the testing done, and get on a payment plan?? sometimes it's just worth it you know?
