  1. why do u have to wait till sept. 8 ??? do u have blood & biopsy testing scheduled?? oh God, i feel for u.. hope it comes fast for u
  2. you should get your Total Iga Serum tested. if you're Iga low or deficient- that would explain the "normal" on your Iga tests.
  3. is he still eating gluten?? if you dont want to do a full endoscopy, you may want to get him a more complete blood test first-> Antigliadin antibodies, & Endomysial Antibodies. because Tissue Transglutamase can be associated with other diseases. you want to make sure the doc rules out other diseases too. but if everything's ok, and it could only be...
  4. AlysonAnn: i dont know anything about u- but do u think u might need meat and fish in your diet?? some people feel best as a vegan, but others like me would be absolutely sick without meat. **also- have u gotten your thyroid checked?? sometimes thyroid problems can cause hair loss idk?? hope you first 2 posters are getting everything checked with your...
  5. i second Ravenwood.... your numbers look to me like u MAY be low on your Iga... u could also test for Endomysial Antibodies any further blood or biopsy tests require u to be consuming enough gluten for 2-3 months some people need that official diagnosis to be strict on the diet (im one of them)... but your daughter's diagnosis, and how u feel may be...
  6. your levels r way too low- i would take the advice of all the posters above. your question about anemia- B12 depletion leads to "Pernicious Anemia" which doesnt involve your Iron levels but your B12 levels. and it's quite possible to have your other vitamin levels be ok- but not your B12. B12 requires your stomach to be working right- the right amount...
  7. ya- 780 is a great number i think- but to reiterate what RiceGuy said- it is true- i believe the Liver stores up 5 years worth of B12. so by the time one finds out that their B12 is like 200s or lower- than i think that means that they've ALREADY depleted their 5 year storage in the liver. i dont know how long the Celiac has affected u- u may be using Liver...
  8. yes, ditto to everything mushroom said in addition to retesting Antigliadin Iga & Igg, and asking for Total Iga Serum, you may also want to ask for: Ttg Iga & Igg & Endomysial Antibodies Celiac can be tricky to diagnose- so good to get a Complete panel. annoying that the doc didnt prepare you for the first blood test.
  9. i would LOVE to start incorporating SOME of the raw diet into mine- it's extremely healthy. 1st of all, like above poster- i canNOT do everything raw- i would be doubled over in pain... BUT im starting to think that its just for certain vegtables like broccoli & asparagus. there's some that i can do raw just fine- like zucchini- and probably some more...
  10. i like these bars: Open Original Shared Link **BE CAREFUL tho- there's only 2 or 3 Gluten Free bars (also soy & dairy free). i like the Dark Chocolate Trail mix gluten-free bar. it's the only one i can find that doesnt hurt my stomach.
  11. THANKU!!!!!
  12. can you guys explain to me what "DD" means?? i always see it & dont get it? Diagnosed Daughter??? it took me a WHILE to figure out IMHO... thanks
  13. i lived in japan for years- but that was before i got to the point where i was having "D" a lot, and YEARS before i ever even heard about Celiac. if one only had a wheat or carb intolerance- it can be a very great place to be healthy- BUT- for Celiac- ya, it's virtually impossible to find a sauce that doesnt have wheat in it i wish they could make all their...
  14. ok, so- excuse my rambling/incoherent thoughts: i do not know of any particular link at all. BUT- 1. i did read that D-Mannose can help to bind up gluten so u can purge it. D-Mannose also binds up sugars in the bladder and can help fight bladder infections. 2. and i worked with a girl who had Interstitial Cystitis which i believe is an autoimmune...
  15. maybe u should ask your doc to check your B12 & D levels. and GET A COPY OF YOUR RESULTS!!! your levels could be too low- and the doc could just brush it off. A LOT of Celiacs need major B12 & D supplements! i got mine checked cause im ALWAYS tired- but my B12 was great?!? so, i think the thyroid is the next test- which is another thing u need to...
  16. it will NOT all go away in 2 days- of course u will feel A LOT better in 2 days- but it takes a while for your digestive system to heal and be able to digest even gluten free foods- i had gone on and off this diet in the past- it always took me a good 3 weeks to not be in gassy pain most of the time! i feel much better now- but keep in mind- u could have...
  17. PLUS usually corn is Genetically Modified AND- this is weird, but i was on the phone with whoever makes Advil the other day- just double checking if there was gluten before i bought it- and she read off the ingredients- now maybe she was confused- but i heard "Gluten"- and i was like "WAIT- WHAT??" and she clarified that the ingredient was: Gluten...
  18. when i suspected celiac for myself 3 or 4 years ago- i read that some celiacs have a decrease in the fatty padding under the feet...
  19. omg! i had this exact same thought last night- i was always in such discomfort after eating out- and just assumed that it was my fault for eating too much- my punishment. and last night it dawned on me- that i can feel normal now after eating out (without the gluten) and corn- sometimes it bothers me, sometimes it doesnt. the last time i had my favourite...
  20. some people who cant do dairy CAN do sheep & goat. i have goat yogurt in the fridge- it's delish like the above poster said (correlating with what ive read)- it may be possible to eat dairy again after your villi in your small intestine have healed. i really believe in a diet (which i will not name since people dont like it)- BUT- i really believe...
  21. dairy sometimes congests me- and sometimes if my stomach isnt digesting too well- i'll get an allergy attack... BUT when i was regularly consuming wheat years ago- i had post nasal drip NONSTOP!!!! it was ridiculous
  22. i dont know of any tests- but that is a really interesting article! thanks
  23. i think that stuff is bad for everyone. and if you have a compromised digestive system- it could be even more hard to digest.
  24. ps- here's a link (cause apparently there's other books with this title): Open Original Shared Link
