  1. some people find beans hard to digest... i can do a small portion of pintos... also- a lot of people have problems with pig products. if it's not those- you may just be sensitive to sodium or fat? if you're digestive system is compromised because of wheat-> then it's likely that many things can be difficult to digest if even just temporary and as...
  2. sounds like you have celiac to me Mark- so, you're already done with your endoscopy & blood tests????? if i were u- i would cut all wheat & gluten out now... if you're one of those people who needs the official diagnosis to start the diet- then please consume very very very minute amounts. and YES- the Dairy is BAD- if you've got GERD, and villous...
  3. that the industry is allowed to label things as gluten free even with minute amounts PISSES ME OFF- why is that ok AT ALL?????? oh & PS. India- i mentioned B12 shots- which i DO swear by- but unfortunately not every shot is the same... some are very "clean" & of course BENEFICIAL to u- i didnt think i needed to be investigative about it- but...
  4. oh no- im so sorry - but i DO say it to myself all the time... and i would probably say it to someone else- for me anyways- it's way better than Diabetes or Lupus or MS... BUT- YOU deserve some major understanding tho- cause Lymphoma is HUGE.. and "iron infusions".. that doesnt sound delightful... it is a big pain in my a tho- & NO LIE- i thought...
  5. 2 weeks is not a long time at all- you should definitely expect more healing & feeling better... and weight gain hopefully hope u figure out what works for u
  6. ohhhh- the prep is a ROYAL PAIN.. altho honestly the actually drinking the liquid and having the "D" aren't as bad as the NOT EATING for 24 hours (hard for me!) the procedure itself is a BREEZE. the painful gas (for me) was MISERABLE- untill i was able to get home on a heating pad-
  7. WOW.. Diverticulosis/Diverticulitis? is a big deal- no wonder u feel the way u do- hope this alleviates some of your anxiety- u KNOW your body was telling u something- it's not "all in your head". so glad u got those tests done.... we're waiting to hear about your biopsy
  8. REALLY??? only SOME docs inflate with gas- i thought they all did to see better??? oy vey- unneccesary discomfort... i dislike doctors
  9. just make sure your beef doesnt have wheat or corn starch & MSG, etc.... and what about trying some things that the Raw Foodies do.. like blending raw stuff in a Vitamix & reaping the enzymes???? idk... also could u handle some Spirulina mixed with water or a juice u can do?? i just learned that Spirulina has B12.. ?? hope u feel better soon
  10. in continuation of what u said about feeling crampy afterwards.... *and anyone else chime in if u want! - did u ever have a colonoscopy??? and took a while to recover afterwards?? for example- MOST people either feel NO cramping/painful gas after one... and some people have painful cramping for the rest of the day... i HOWEVER had painful cramping/gas for...
  11. so, how long have you been gluten free?? it's possible that once your small intestine heals - you WILL start to put on a healthy weight because you will be absorbing more nutrients. and how underweight are u??? do u know your fat percentage? as far as diet- i dont know how to direct u. i personally do better on a meat & veggies diet. for ME-> the...
  12. yes! you need to drag your mother to get tested.... im "THIS CLOSE" to dragging my dad in .. i COMPLETELy understand- in addition to family- its everybody else too.... looking at u like you're looney- oh i totally am there with ya
  13. for those of u that have had DH- how long after going Gluten Free did yours go away??? im pretty sure ive only had psoriasis & excema, but once had suspicious bumps on my forearm... and now (even after 5 weeks gluten free)- i have something new around my navel... but not sure if its DH- cause pics on google are the EXTREME pics... ???? its possible...
  14. as long as your daughter is not too uncomfortable or sick- i would try asap to get a complete Celiac blood panel- BEFORE u take her off the gluten.
  15. i REALLY HOPE they're safe- i LOVE their breads
  16. omg hilarious- you're actually correct to write "spelt" (an alternative to "spelled")- but all i saw was SPELT as in an ancient form of wheat... & does anybody know what exactly a barium & ct does that an Endo or Colonoscopy cant do??? isn't Barium toxic??? i'd love to understand it all
  17. YES- as above poster stated- u definitely need to get yourself and kids checked for Celiac, etc.... but also to MAYBE calm your nerves a little (of course u need to get checked- as hair falling out can be a symptom of celiac or thyroid problems)- i ALSO read- that u shed excess hair after having a baby- that while you are pregnant- u dont shed any hair-...
  18. i think everyone's different- some enjoy the fiber effects from grains... i dont. i actually went 3x a day when i was on a paleo type diet years ago. and in recent times- ive experienced better regularity from eating certain fruits than grains. but again everyone's different.
  19. ive only seen the ttg related to Celiac, Crohns, and autoimmune liver disease. um- your numbers are PRETTY HIGH- and im not so sure i believe in a false positive- i understand wanting a "diagnosis", but as long as your liver & thyroid are fine- i would presume u have Celiac. at the very least i would presume u need to be 100% Gluten Free. of course stay...
  20. all the recent posts & articles about CC is making me so sad... i DID in fact feel GREAT years ago when i wasn't eating ANY grains... just mostly meat & veggies. im not up to par now- dont know if it's CC or grain intolerance... omg im not ready to be that strict yet- so hard ... im so emotionally attached to food
  21. omg- i'll try to keep this short- it just depends on how much, what kind, and for how long i eat it... the norm is to feel like i have huge rocks in my stomach & intestines like even 10 min. after eating it. i dont get the "D" or floaty fatty movements unless ive been on gluten regularly. i usually get some "C" & how do i say this.... um... white...
  22. Lara bars bloat me up horribly- because they're mostly made of Dates- and i can't digest excess fructose
  23. good for u!!! i havent been able to give up the dairy yet in my personal opinion- i've noticed more positive change from actually eliminating wheat & gluten from my diet than the probiotics or enzymes.. i think they most definitely help- but i think the biggest change comes from the diet.
  24. Hi Gidget! i'm Iga deficient- i have a "sensitive" stomach, and have had H.Pylori & of course several stomach bugs- but i dont think any more than the average person.. but i dont know. as long as i eat right- i think i feel healthier than most people so dont feel disheartened. you do have to figure out tho whether or not your child has Celiac ...
  25. OMG- i COMPLETELY relate... i have been obsessingly worried over my family- wanting them to get tested... problem is most of my family is pretty gluten free or gluten lite- so they would probably get false negatives. except my Dad- he STILL eats reg. pasta everyday- i want him to get a blood panel NOW while he's still eating enough gluten- but he's SO stubborn...
