  1. your GI couldnt help u? what do these doctors do anyways?? do they ever have answers? sorry i digress... i had the burning months ago- and because of $$ & not wanting antibiotics i went ahead and treated myself as if it were H.Pylori... i took 3 doses of GSE (15 drops in 8oz water) for 3 weeks, & some Pepto Bismol... it cleared up. if it didnt...
  2. WOW! thanku! this is a fantastic article!
  3. omg yes- it's ENRAGING- this "globalization" of our foods- and GMOs... mixing all the food together- we cant all eat the same thing dammit... and a lot of those "natural flavors" come from factories in china- so scary right after i got my genetic tests back- i really had to get strict & looked at everything! i never knew they put WHEAT STARCH in my...
  4. i was JUST thinking about this yesterday- over the last 5 years when i would binge on wheat- i noticed that i was even more heat sensitive than normal AND i would have to lower my AC a few degrees more than normal! there's discussions somewhere on this forum about people's celiac kids always taking their sheets off the bed, or rippin their socks off cause...
  5. what kind of immune supplement?? does your son have GI or Celiac? wanting to give your son extra supplements isnt stupid at all- i would want the same- but i would decide depending on the ingredients- because those of us with autoimmune genetics or "hypervigillant" immune systems might be better off without some of those things like Echinacea for one.....
  6. omg LOLOL... your last sentence- im still laughing (maybe i have a twisted sense of humour- but wow- funny)
  7. OMG- you definitely need superb medical care.... maybe you have a bleeding ulcer on top of everything else?? def. get to your GI SOON- they need to help you maybe call your GI- see if they can take you before Wednesday!! im pretty sure throwing up blood warrants it.
  8. i dont know about the dizziness- cause to me, it sounds like you had a pretty good breakfast- with protein. but i do know about stabbing abdominal pains- which i ALSO get with too much fructose- (ie: grape juice, apples). AND- if i drink too much coffee without a good protein meal- the acid will make me nauseaus. but the dizziness??? maybe you were CC...
  9. L-Glutamine helps to bind Wheat Germ Agglutin so your body can start to clean it out. D-Mannose helps to bind Gluten. but supplements can only do so much- the best thing is to NEVER eat the poison again.. i know it's hard- i cheated on wheat & gluten off & on for the last decade- and im done now. ready to feel good.
  10. AMEN to all the replies above! i canNOT believe your Doc saw VA & said you were fine!!!????!!!!! and he only tested you for 3 Celiac genes???? none of the antibodies tests either?? you need your test copies for your own file, and you need a new doc... and REALLY you dont need anyone's permission to eat gluten free. GOOD GOD- i really dont like your...
  11. mmm GlutenFreeManna's idea of throwing a dinner party with all Gluten Free food sounds like a great idea! can i come? i know it's hard... and sometimes i'm completely happy with my diet- then someone i work with will say: "God, i dont know how someone like you eats!!!???/!!... cant you just strengthen your immune system so you can eat normal stuff...
  12. omg i feel so bad for u!!! too much pain & hours in the ER for anyone to deal with... i really hope your doctors visits this week give u answers and help! anyways- i am NO doctor- but you need to make sure your GI runs a complete Celiac panel in addition to everything he does... especially if your brother has it! let us know what happens.....
  13. PS Caligirl: i just looked at my 2 Celiac Panels again- and my doc's lab had different Ttg ranges than your results- these were my reference ranges: 0-3 Negative 4-10 Weak Positive >10 POSITIVE you need to request your own copies- and then figure out if you wanna do a "wheat challenge" for a more complete test.
  14. all i can say is don't give up on future celiac panels (with wheat challenge) or just living the gluten-free diet-> because Gluten & Wheat Germ Agglutin can cause all kinds of skin problems! it doesnt even have to be DH. (not that i know at all what your son has- or if your doc should have done a skin biopsy?) - when i would go back to eating wheat...
  15. definitely listen to her body-> even when i am gluten free & feel fine- bananas make me nauseous!!! BIG TIME- i ALWAYS have to eat them with something- almond butter or gluten-free cereal, or ice cream if i eat bananas ALONE- i could very easily be hovered over the toilet- NO LIE. and apples can be too acidic for some- i, personally canNOT handle...
  16. caligirl- i understand you COMPLETELY... im finally convinced to comply with the diet 100%.. but i want that official diagnosis- so that my family will take it seriously!! i got celiac genes from both parents- my maternal uncles passed away prematurely from heart disease, and my mom's sister is being told she has Crohns. PLUS my dad (who is young, lean ...
  17. omg jen- it has been an ongoing puzzle for me... sometimes garlic & bell peppers bother me, sometimes they dont... sometime dairy bothers me.. sometimes not... 90% of the time i have Fructose Malabsorption... and once in a blue moon i cant do sweet potatoes.. i think in a nutshell- with Celiac & GI-> our systems have been compromised, and untill...
  18. omg- im so happy someone started talking about this- i have been battling Shortness of Breath really bad for the last 5 years... and i ALSO forget to breathe.. its awful.. but everyone kept telling me it was anxiety or "in my head"... and i know i have problems with anxiety too.... but i KNEW this was not just in my head- the first 2 times this happened was...
  19. gosh... idk... could it be the rest of your diet causing this?? r u eating enough good stuff? or JUST going gluten free? are u taking medications? or even Iron? hhmmm - u may also want to experiment with Ghee & L-Glutamine- they help your small intestine work better- and gives u "smooth" results if u know what i mean other than that- i cant relate...
  20. WHOA.. has anyone read this yet: Open Original Shared Link especially the last paragraph- wow... so much we still dont know about Celiac succeptibility
  21. ya Ava- dont worry- & listen to these other girls too- DQ2 & DQ8 are only 2 of several genes associated with Celiac... PLUS- Europe tests for 2 more genes they recognize as Celiac related that we dont even test for here. i think you have way too many symptoms to be continuing on any kind of gluten filled Food Pyramid diet. good luck
  22. well, my doc had me on a 2 week wheat challenge- but everyone on here says 4-6 weeks... both my tests were kind of low- but my Iga serum was below normal which contributes to inconclusive tests. your Iga looks normal, but if you weren't eating enough gluten - then your tests could be wrong. whether or not you want to go back on wheat and get another test...
  23. u were diagnosed on 8-8-08 ?!?? those are great numbers... do u by any chance have the DQ8 too???? lol... sorry im a nerd
  24. Outback has gluten free options- and it's delish! Connie- i THINK McD's ice cream is gluten-free... ive been on there site a few times this month- to triple check on the fries -has wheat ... and to see if the new frappes were safe- they are. i think the ice cream is good as long as u dont add in some kind of cookie piece to the mcflurry
