  1. Really? What misinformation is out there. It's incredible!!! That's too funny... lol Do you still have the link on that one? It might not hurt, writing some professional pages about that gluten issue down or at least to save them in your favorites. This way, you can just post them one by one, if someone thinks, they are super-clever again . Do...
  2. Haha , very nicely said. They also don't want you to eat to much, because a lot of woman throw up with a full stomache, when they are in labor. And in case of an emergency, when they would have to do a c-section quick and you lie on your back, you could choke on your own vomit. So that's the reason, they don't give you anything actually. But I'm not planning...
  3. Yes, I heard the same thing from our Bradley teacher. She said, do this trick: Imagine, you want to take a picture before you leave from hospital. When you're still able to get the picture taken and smile in it, then it's still too soon. When you can't smile in it anymore, because you have to concentrate on your contractions, that's when you should go in...
  4. Unless that woman answers me again, I'm not going to talk to her any longer. I don't need any additional worries right now. But thanks you all so much for your much needed advice. I appreciate very much. But you're right, she should have an over-do on her degree... lol. So, thanks for your encouraging words with the baby. Yes, it sounds like it's really...
  5. That is a very good question... I wish you could ask her yourself, but I think, it's still forbidden to post other message boards on here. I did this mistake once a loooong time ago, I'm not going to make this mistake again... lol !
  6. That's funny, that's what I kinda told her, too. But now all of a sudden I'm a 'know-it-all-better' apparently. As I said, who cares... Anything new on here? I was so busy lately, I haven't been able to come here for quite a while. Throughout my entire pregnancy as it seems...
  7. That's a good idea. However it is pretty long, I didn't post everything on here, just the part, that she was using... Here is the link: Open Original Shared Link Oh, and I told her the same thing, that Wikipedia isn't always right and after this she called me the "Almighty god of gluten", hehe, I feel honored by such words... just kidding
  8. No, not really... lol. She called me the almighty god of gluten facts and an arrogant banter. Whatever... maybe she wasn't THAT good of a friend . Maybe she thought, I want to attack her almighty chemistry / biology major, hehe... It was worth a try, but some people can't get over themselves I'm not reacting as agressive anymore as I used to in the passed...
  9. Yes, that kinda does make sense. I know, that it changes the structure, I was just lacking the words. But like she said, that it develops, that isn't really true in that way either, it just changes it (the structure)... Thanks for helping out...lol.
  10. So, how can I explain this to that good woman, without offending anyone??? Because she actually became one of my friends over these last few days...
  11. Hi there, I haven't been on here in a while. I just had a discussion with somebody, that wants to tell me, that gluten is "developed" in the dough when the proteins in the dough absorb water and are pulled and stretched in the kneading process. The woman said, she found it on Wikipedia and said, she was a chemistry / biology major and said, the gluten...
  12. Correct me, if I'm wrong, but I thought, sorghum flour is a kind of wheat flour??? How can it be glutenfree? Oh and believe me, I have it so severe, I WILL notice it, if I get glutened. I notice every little bit. So apparently this time really nothing happened... Stef
  13. Yes, as silly as that sounds. I'm actually glad, it happened to me, too . That's why I wrote it on here. It might help some other celiacs, right? That's why I think this board is the best support group out there. You have them day and night and there's no answering machine, when you call. There's always somebody here.
  14. Hi Ursa, of course, you are right. I should have never eaten them. But I didn't have anything else at home, so I just picked them out before cooking. Nothing did happen so far and usually I have a pretty strong reaction, especially against barley. Hope it stays that way. Thanks, Stef
  15. Thanks for all your replies guys. I ate the lentils after I sorted everything out and nothing happened to me. But here's what I figured out so far. I took those strange looking thingys to a good friend. He's a farmer. And he said, yep, that's barley. So thanks god I noticed it , before I cooked the entire stuff. Well, actually I rinsed everything off in...
  16. I'm already afraid of August. I don't know, if everything will go well. I might have to stay in the hospital for a few days after I delivered, since all female members of my immediate family always had problems with giving birth. So might I. I was planning on going to the hospital next week to register and to ask the kitchen about this issue. Ryan, this...
  17. Hi there, I'm not a mom yet, but I'm pretty anxious for August and I was digging through all the books I could find so far. Now one of the best books I read on this subject unfortunately is in German language. With newborns it said exactly what Carla already said on here. The milk has to come in first and for this to happen you have to let the baby suck...
  18. Haha, those are funny, too. I have a student who says "fine" sometimes, too. It's good to be back, too. Hugs, Stef
  19. Wow, very good thread. I think, my hubby thought at the beginning a little bit like yours. It's all in her head. Eventually he came around. He's a real sweetheart today. I must say, it wouldn't have happened with a little help from the book "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus". It helped me out a great deal and I understood for the first time, why it...
  20. Wow, there's good jokes on here. I love this one: Heaven is almost full. Not many souls fit in anymore. So God and St. Peter call in a meeting to figure out their problem. Then they come to an agreement to only let special cases into heaven. 5 minutes later it knocks on heavens door and St. Peter answers:
  21. Hi Mountain Mama, that you might be dairy intolerant (you already said, you have a dairy allergy since birth), that is quite possible. Most celiacs are still dairy intolerant for the first few months after they go on a glutenfree diet. The reason is, that dairy is digested on the tips of the villi (the little hair in your intestines). Well, if you ate...
  22. Hi to everybody. Here I am with a problem. I just bought lentils from the grocery store. I never made lentils on my own, but I wanted to make them, like my german grandma always used to make them. So I take the lentils, put them in the pot with water. And as they are in that water for about a minute, suddenly those little "things" appear on top of the...
  23. Is there a website to this place? Thanks, Stef
  24. I love strawberries with chocolate and I like potato dumplings. Both things you have to make on your own unfortunately. But those are currently my favorites.
  25. I made a great discovery. Well, ah, it's actually a long story, but the end of the story is, now I can tell you, where you can get the "kinder chocolate", the "kinder eggs", the "milka chocolates", and the "ritter chocolates" all at the same time, same place for all of you on here. I just placed an order for my jam. It's awesome... Well, how did this happen...
