EnerG also makes those little pretzels. They are pretty good, too. -
Yes, it is very hard to stop, when your body doesn't show any or much bad reactions to eating gluten. But it is still like poison for you and you shouldn't do it. Even if you would stop eating the entire thing at the icing or at the topping, you still get cross contamination. Because once it's baked / cooked, the stuff is everywhere. So it doesn't even help...

That especially sounds very good and also logically, because I asked my doctor and also the nursed in the hospital already, if I could labor in the tub. Well, everybody said yes, provided my membranes haven't ruptured yet. So, I think, the doptone makes even more sense, because I don't think it's possible to take that Telemetry gear into the tub with me ... -

Thanks, Michelle. I will consider that. That's also the same thing, they tell you in most of the (more modern) books. So, what I will do is. I will change the sentence I have in my birth plan, that says: "Would prefer monitoring with Telemetry" into "Would prefer monitoring with Telemetry or, if not available, would like to have a nurse do doppler monitoring... -

Yes, it is very upsetting! I believe that!!! It just sounds like he doesn't want to believe you at all and torment you on purpose in the hope you "change your mind". But you will never change your minds, because you are not allergic or celiac by choice. You are, because you have to some people really don't get it. Why not order something completely else... -

Haha, that's funny. That's the exact same thing, I told Kathy, my best friend (she turns 50 in 5 days... so old school... lol). Kathy was like 'Really? Since when? I never heard about enemas being outdated.' She didn't believe me, when I told her, so I assumed, I was wrong. So, actually I was NOT wrong. Enemas ARE outdated. Glad, somebody confirmed that.... -

Just wanted to let you guys know. Nothing so far! I had to go to the bathroom tonight for the first time in this pregnancy due to pressure on my bladder. Might be a sign, that the head is engaged and putting pressure on. Then I woke up to very slight tension in my back. Felt like a kidney problem . No real pain, just disturbing for a while. 1 hour later... -

Oh, another thing, I forgot. I wrote a birth plan and showed it to my ob/gyn. He said, he was fine with that and put the entire birth plan as a copy into my patient files. Saturday, when I come to town next time, I will bring one to the hospital, too. So they can put it into my admittance/preregister file. I already preregistered four months ago, but they... -

Hi Angie, oh yes, D is definitely connected with early labor. Congratulations, you might be there . The reason, why you get D right before the entire thing starts to get rolling is, so that your body can cleanse your intestines before pushing. It makes pushing stage easier, because there is no #2 in the way of baby . This is the reason, why you'll get enemas... -

That's exactly what I think, too. I'm not American and just lived here for three years and because I travel a lot as well I can tell you, that the 'rest' of the world does not mostly eat rice! Maybe Asia, yes. But not Europe, and people in other countries are not much skinnier than Americans . A little bit maybe, but not much. Exactly my words... -

There wasn't a possibility to listen to it in the archives, at least I didn't find it. But there's a bulletin board and I just gave gluten into the search. Maybe somebody already officially ranted on there. If so, I'm joining and if not, I'm becoming a member (it's for free, just like on here) and will rant officially. You can join me, if you want. I'm using... -

stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to IrishGirl71's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
Since my diagnosis three years ago I have been back in my home country, Germany, then in Canada, Spain and of course the US. Here is my glutenfree rating with the best glutenfree options named first: 1. Germany 2. US 3. Canada 4. Spain (nobody knew anything about celiac and it was really hard finding stuff here) -

Such people have so low self-control, that even if they would have celiac, they would find a substitute for THEIR candy bar and still trash everything in, they could find eatable and then be fat. It's not the celiac, that keeps us slim. It's the realization, that everything we eat affects our bodies. We celiacs just get more concious and have more knowledge... -

No, unfortunately not . This is because we had the baby shower at my MIL's house, with glutenfree cake of course , and everything we got didn't fit into my car. So Lukas and I got like two car loads of goodies . And we had to leave my husbands truck up there, because his dad wanted to repair something in it's engine (he is the owner of a machine shop,... -

That's fuuun! Yes, it's the first baby. He will be sooooo spoiled. He's not only OUR first baby. He's pretty much THE first in all our relations in the family . Lol, that's how I picture myself with hubby. Yes, I've hurt the same thing. The last stage of labor, the transition, is that bad, because you have two different kind of contractions. One kind of contraction is to dilate the cervix and the other kind of contraction is to prepare you to push. And sometimes the other one just hopps around, when the... -

Hi guys, of course I would like one of those polls, too. I'd feel honored... . And yes, it sounds like fun. Oh, Angie, yes, this is my first baby. And the last one, too. I am at the same stage at the moment. I will be 38 weeks on Wednesday and my sleeping pattern is totally off. I am about to go crazy here. I don't know, with what to start first and at the same time still get some sleep in. So I'm sleeping on and off, just like I feel tired. The rest of my time is teaching, on the internet, cleaning and sewing. I'm excited... -
ARCHIVED Feeling Left Out
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to confusedks's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I feel you on the broke subject. But if you got diagnosted with celiac, you have to be 100% glutenfree without cheating. If you have gluten once in a while, you might as well skip the entire diet. And no symptoms don't mean, you won't have damage!
