  1. Does CEA have a national office? I would ask them. Also ask them how they deal with food allergies but still have you eating on plan. There is a whole wide world out there of non gluten grains. I would suspect that those would be ok for you but ask national or someone that has long term recovery. Personally I would find it hard to binge on Gluten...
  2. My body never did what I was told it would do in relation to gaining or losing weight. I have no thyroid, but if you do not have your meds right keeping your weight at the right point is not really possible. No mater what you do. I see my endocrinologist every three months. I would not recommend seeing a general practitioner for this. Levels must be changed...
  3. Trail mix of dried fruit and nuts can of pink salmon dried prunes, apricots, raisins, cranberries something you baked, banana bread, crackers, non frosted cake I have made muffins in custard bowls and brought them for the first mornings breakfast. I use almond flour and an egg and some fruit or nut or raisin, cinnamon so it is a whole meal. a good...
  4. I would look at what was added to her diet. I found that I cant eat Soy, it just kills me. or much corn meal. I would stick to basic foods, those that are not processed then slowly add. I also could not eat lettuce, any form for a few months.
  5. odd my reactions were the opposite. I had always been what I thought was hungry when I ate gluten. the first few months gluten free I had little appetite . But a year later now I am starving. Actually for me I think part of it is that this hunger is a new feeling for me. It feels very different. I have found that it also goes away it I eat a little and then...
  6. What works for me is Calcium citrate with vitamin d Badger sleep balm on my temples and under my nose when I go to sleep getting my thyroid checked every three months Echinaccea-Goldenseal an hour after I take my thyroid meds. It supports your immune system so your body can us energy doing other things. 15 minutes a day of outdoor sunlight. and ...
  7. I get uncomfortable with milk or ice cream but seem to be able to eat cheese or ricotta cheese. When I get the urge for ice cream at home I just mix a tea spoon of sugar and some cocoa and maybe some mint extract with about a 1/3 cup of whole milk ricotta and satisfy the urge. It is rich, creamy and tasty!
  8. did you ask your pharmacist? I also call the manufacture with the lot number.
  9. You will be surprised on how many foods there really are out there. Personally I thought I would die when I had to give up gluten. It has been 10 months and I am more alive then ever!!!! It sounds like you have a good plan. If I was in your shoes here is what I would do:( but of course your shoes are your shoes not mine) 1) eat only what you are...
  10. Good going! As the thyroid meds are increased you may lose more of the tiredness. They need increased slowly so that your body does not go into shock. It took me about three increases to get to where I needed to be. After going Gluten free and losing weight they needed lowered. I was glad for that! For me I can tell when they are to high because my mind...
  11. This is my first Gluten free spring. Spring for me usually means at least a week of a lost voice, constant sore throat, stuffy noise and a few days in bed when they are haying in the area. I have not even gone though my first bag of cough drops yet. I have some drip but nothing like before. As a kid I was the one that went in for weekly shots. I was told...
  12. I use the cream Pro-gest and have had amazing results with it. I skip the two weeks of cramping and mood swings and my cycle has gone from starting at 27 to 38 days to starting at day 27 or 28. The site does not say if it is gluten free but I have not gotten a rash and place it in the same place each day. progest site Open Original Shared...
  13. Could your problem be with soy and corn? When I first went gluten-free I added a great deal of corn and Soy and it made me worse in the gut but I was awake and my joint pain went away.
  14. I also take probiotics. Generaly when I feel stuffed or have not gone bm in the morning. Personally I no longer trust baselines or the ranges they say I should be in. They told me my thyroid was ok but after I had it removed( had a goiter) and went on meds I felt better then I ever had. They tell me that My protein levels are to low. I spent three months...
  15. I hit a point about week 2 and three where I was not a happy camper. I was going though some pretty bad withdraw. I had the urge to hurt someone that I saw eating pizza in public, How dare they was my thought. At about a month to 6 weeks was when my family started commenting on changes in my behavior and attitude. I am 45 though so I suspect your child...
  16. Please read my profile I had a ton of things the matter to. I suspect that when anyone has so many systems going hay wire it is gluten. Go gluten free for a month then look at your list and see what is better. Just giving up toast may not make that much of a difference. I Just had all my body achs and pains return and walking problems start because I had...
  17. Thanks so much for the post. I have not been feeling well and was not sure why. The doctor gave me samples of this med. and the joint pains are back and the back ack and my first head ack in moths. Silly me I trusted him and forgot to double check. Today when I stood up I had trouble walking the first few steps. Ill have to check tomorrow to see if they have...
  18. There is a ton of debate about this book. please read this. Open Original Shared Link Personaly I think it is all about marketing. A diet and fitness book is a better seller then some book about an illness. and many people who will pick up the book will find that they have this illness. Diets do not work for chubby celiacs. I am just glad that the...
  19. What helped me was thinking the bite through. I eat it and it tastes good, I may even get a buzz off of it. Then my stomach will cramp, my tummy will develop that oh so attractive pregnant look and I will be so unhappy that I will not enjoy the afternoons activities then I will need a nap and probably wake up with joint pain. If I think it though it is...
  20. In my experiance being a hypochondriac was my main symptom. My mom and doctor and dad and ex-husband, boyfriend and adult kid all thought I was one. I though I was one. Now they all sing a different tune. I do also. I am no longer a hypochondriac.
  21. I laughed so hard during the news today. The fda claims that if a food claims to cure an illness then it must be classified as a drug. What about all these people that are saying to eat fish for the omga 3's. Will Fish now become a drug? Is coffee now a drug because it sure helps my grandmas constipation? or will food dietitians that try to cure blood sugar...
  22. How true! Just last night I started talking to a woman about a totally other topic and she mentioned that she might be gluten intolerant so I told her what I knew and mentioned this web page to her. I would have never thought she was one of us but I hope I helped her a little bit. Sometimes it just helps knowing there are others around me dealing with the...
  23. I have been gluten. I have been free for 10 months. I see my doctor Monday. Tiss TRAN IGG/a GLIADIN IGG <3 tTG AB,IGA <3 GLADIN(IGG,IGA GLIADIN IGA 5 TTGG <3 I think that makes me negative for everything. But I also thought that if I was not eating gluten I would be negative. He said I would still have antibodies. Funny thing is that...
  24. If you found the thing that makes you 100% better why would you look for another answer? As time goes on you will find more things that you can eat and be happy with. Personally I would rather have the life I have now that I am healthy rather then all the food I had when I was sick. Sometimes it is hard. But before I went of the gluten every day was hard...
  25. He is probably just afraid. People tend to react out of either fear or love and when they are told that what they think is the "staff of life" they tend to be scared. I have had more then one person say that they would just die if They found out that they were allergic to wheat. I have been told my whole life that I am a hypochondriac by my family...
