  1. Good luck and Keep up the good work. I have been Gluten free since July and went though a period where I was mad at others that could eat Gluten. I am still finding my way, so at times my meals are strange, but they are all gluten free. I have kept a list of the things that have improved for me since I started and look at it from time to time when I feel...
  2. I to was was the "the hypochondriac" my dad would sometimes ask, while rolling his eyes, what was wrong with me today. He still does this today. My mom surprised me. She was tired to of my illness of the week. She has seen the change in me and this week actually did a football block on a wrap someone was handing to me. Then she clearly explained...

  7. I grew up feeling like a freek in my house because of my allergies. I my folks could not get why I was not greatfull for powdered goats milk( cause it tastes really bad.) Rather then providing me with things I could eat they kept harping on what I could not eat due to allergies. For years I had my breakfast cheerios with water. Gross. So I know what it feels...
  8. Lost of people get false negatives. Someone else can explain it better then me. I have not had any blood work done but have been of Gluten now for a few months. I am amazed at the changes in me. I no longer feel like I am dieing. Oddly this week I am noticing that the inside of my nose feels bigger. I do not have that stuff nose feeling that was just...
  9. I have a 20 year old kid and was once 22 myself. Trust me, you are far from helpless. I gave up wheat in my 20s then went back to it. Back then many people thought that wheat was an addictive food. After being sick and having tons of differnt doctors tell me what was wrong I finely figured out that what was mainly making me sick was the gluten. Taking...
  10. Checking out crumbs is a hard habit to break because as the food provider, watcher and shopper I am always curious about what appears on a plate. Some times it is the only way that I find out that a key ingredient for dinner tonight has vanished. I had to break that habit though It is just to risky. My kitchen is tiny so there is no area for gluten-free...
  11. congratulations on the eating, sorry about the sleeping. I was surprised this week this week by my mom also, But then she knows how sick I was. I went to the zoo with family and arrived late. My nephew offered me half has wrap and my mom actually blocked him from giving it to me and then nicely explained how ill it made me. I was in shock. Mom always...
  12. As someone who worked in balk bins for a little I would bet that was part of the problem. People are always moving scopes from one bin to another. I had a few people decide they did not want something and put it back in a bin, maybe not the right one. I had some kid think it was funny to put gum balls in the dog food. Also the bins may have been emptied...
  13. Often these posts can be downers. I though it would be nice to hear some of peoples positive experiences since becoming Gluten free. If you are reading this post you know the trauma and pain it took to get to this point, no need for me to rehash it. I found out something amazing this week. I do not have weak ankles. I love to walk, but trip alot....
  14. try elimination diet. I think that is why I had such fast results. The first week I only ate a few foods and only in their purest, closest to nature form. When I felt stable I added a few things. When I added soy and corn I got massive d. Lived with that till i found out that massive d leads to hemroids. When I added rice I noticed that the odd ich...
  15. congratulations! I was shocked also when I was clearing out the closet and put on some old pants and now have been able to pack away some of my larger items. Dresses look so much better on me that I even am wearing a few skirts. I went to Dicks with my kid and tried on a tennis skirt. It was black and looked so hot on me that I had to get it. Its...
  16. The first few weeks of going gluten free I was taking foods out of my diet. Now I am figuring out what to add to my diet. You will get there also. If there is an Indian store near you try Mithaee It is dessert in a can. They taste just like crispy cream doughnuts and are soaked in a sugary syrup. Do not eat if you are diabetic. I have a large Indian...
  17. Mine is odd, started in 6 grade now I am 45. It has never been regular. Generally starts around day 34 or 30 or 37 or when ever it feels like it. I have a grandma with 7 kids that says that she ovulates when a good looking man walks by. I have had some lovers that have started my period. One man I hung with a little to long because if i was cramping an...
  18. I think that no mater what happens the next three years will be tough. My kid is in college so it will be tough for me even if the economy gets better. Currently I am trying to pay down my credit cards a bit, and move some of the debt to lower interest loans. Being sick the last few years do to not knowing I was Gluten intolerant I lived a little to much...
  19. Saddly that is how we learn what we can eat and what we can not. Sorry I can not eat soy either. It makes me run to the bathroom. Almond milk tastes good. I have even given it to "normal" people who like it. It is also better tasting then soy in mashed potatoes. If you have room you can ask the store if they will give you a price break if you buy...
  20. I have been constipated most of my life. in my 20,30 I only had a movement when my period was coming. So now I am at the other end. After getting accustomed to 6 weeks of gotta go right now I have painful hemorrhoids that I really know noting about, It is all new to me. The bleeding has stopped, the pain has not. Hemorrhoid cooling gel was a waste of money...

  22. I think I am just going to start carrying old bay in my purse, lol It is gluten free. I called the 8oo number and am over joyed. lol
  23. Wow, I so agree with what you say. I am 47 and wonder how my life would have been if I would have figured this out sooner and suck to it. Would I have avoided surgeries? Would I have been there more for my now 20 year old kid? I never tied the depression to Gluten. Gee with out Gluten I may have not been committed 18 years ago. I may have avoided 7 years...
  24. Sometimes I just have to think the bite though. ( In 12 step programs the quote is think the drink through) If I eat Gluten I will first feel a euphoria, I will then feel checked out of life for a little bit.I sooo miss that feeling. I may then pass out or "just lay down for a little for a nap" and then I will feel sick as heck. I will either poop my...
  25. I never told a doctor about this cause I did not want to seem nuts but some times my tongue swells so much that I bite it. I could never figure out why. I have been gluten free for about 6 weeks ( got glutened twice.) Tonight I was in a sandwich shop with other people. One was eating. I was drinking raspberry tea. I started having some little trouble talking...
