  1. Congrats! Feeling good is the best!
  2. I don't really know about dates fermenting, they are generally very long lasting. But don't throw that packaging away. Call their customer service line. They will refund or coupon you but the main thing is there are a lot of that bad lot of bars out there. The company will not know this unless customers like you tell them. They can pull them off the...
  3. In my case, GERD is a sign to me that something's not right. Could you jot down your diet for awhile along with the symtoms? Just in case you're getting some sneaky gluten?
  4. I don't know if your salami had nitrates/ites in it or not. I've found I'm sensitive to those so I switched to eating Hormel Naturals. I can't remember if they have a salami but they do have pepperoni so you could check your local grocery. I've seen these in all our large chain groceries.
  5. Each person's level of sensitivity is different so you have to decide that for yourself. In the beginning, I used the visual of gluten as poison ivy to help me to repell urges to cheat. Now if poison ivy was sitting in your salad, would you wash it then eat it? There's your answer.
  6. Poetry, I'm so sorry you're feeling so bad. You are waiting for a dx? Did you receive it yet? Are you at a place where you can go gluten-free to feel better? We're pulling for you.
  7. What jumped out at me about your diet was you eat a lot of dairy. I know you said lactose intolerant but so am I and no way could I eat yogurt or lactose free milk. My daughter can tolerate it but I can't. Lately I had to give up butter too. I hope I don't have to give up cheese, so far so good. I would suggest you give up the dairy for a couple...
  8. What's your diet like? Gluten is very sneaky and can hide in seemingly harmless foods or drinks. Also some spices are not pure. Lots of mine had to go from being cc'd. Your symptoms sound like it could be hidden gluten. Could be something you're eating almost every day.
  9. What company does this? I usually buy Planters. I agree with the elimination diet. Also I would keep a food/symptom journal. It will help you with that hindsight needed to find a sneaky problem and dr's like to see how you've come to that conclusion. Sometimes just thinking about your food enough to write it down can cause the lightbulb to come...
  10. If your problems are strongly digestive, it might be too harsh for your damaged system. I wouldn't have done it the way I felt but you must decide for yourself.

Welcome to the Forum! Let us know how you continue to feel. So neat that your husband is that supportive. He's a Keeper!
  12. The back pain is something different. It calls for a dr visit. Get in to see to it right away. It could be gall bladder, kidneys... any number of things. The B12 I have to buy at my local health food store or on-line. Walmart has some but it's not the methyl kind. Ask your dr when you go about your pain.
  13. I guess I'm just a glass half full kind of gal. I also was so sick I was estatic to find a solution. Life is so good now I just can't feel sorry for myself even though others seem to feel that way for me. I'm not really one to ruminate on why me? Others have heart attacks, diabeties, cancer, MS...the list goes on. I expected to have health problems...
  14. I second the elimination diet plan. Even some allergy dr's use this method. That's how I figured out about my other sensitivities. Also it helped me a lot to keep a food/symptom diary for awhile. Writing it down helped me skip the denial phase or that "selective memory". You know, I didn't feel that bad. Let us know how you do.
  15. That's right, the B12 in your multi isn't available to you the same way as the sublingual methylcolobin (sp?) is. Take it in addition to your multi. Doesn't look like your having dairy. That's good. I couldn't ingest fruits at all for almost a year. Now I can eat them again but in the beginning they just were too harsh for my damaged system. ...
  16. Sounds to me like you are still ingesting something you're reacting to. It could be hidden gluten. Tell us a little more specifically what you are eating and drinking. Are you taking supplements? What are they? I would take the sublingual B12 the methyl kind. That can help your overall feeling of well being, energy level, and some of the nerve...
  17. Right off I'll tell you I'm not medical expert nor do I have a child with celiac disease. I'm the one with it and I am self diagnosed. But I have learned a lot in the past year and I'll give you my two cents. I would ask for a celiac panel. It should be negative but you will have the numbers on record for future in case other conditions come up...
  18. Welcome to the Forum! Sounds like you are moving in the right direction meeting your dr first. We'll see how your tests come out before giving you more diet advice. You need to be actively eating gluten for the tests to have a chance to come out positive. Even so, they might be negative. As for the difference between intolerant and celiac disease...
  19. I agree, if you are eating popcorn out of a microwave bag, you could be sensitive to some of the ingredients added to the mix. I would bet you would do OK with stovetop popcorn. Like the poster said, that way you know what's in it and boy does it taste good!
  20. For once in your life make yourself your first priority. Make your food on your day off and prepackage it so you can grab it and go the rest of the week. No more noodles. You get rice noodles and cook them yourself. What good is school and work if your health is bad? None of that can pay off if you are not healthy. Keep posting here what you are eating...
  21. Have you been tested for vitamin defiencies? That very common to us and can feel like you describe. I started taking a sublingual B12 and it help the muscle problems tremendously. Also you want to check your D and iron. Sometimes dr's get caught up in the testing and forget the obvious. It's worth a blood test to find out, right?
  22. Welcome to the forum. It's a great group here and diverse too. Any comment or question you may have will be commented on to your heart's content.
  23. I found that when I was reacting to my own baked goods, it was the guar gum that was zapping me. It has a mild laxative affect that I seem to be very sensitive to. I don't have a problem with xantham gum. I was trying to save money. You do use a small amount though, so, I'll stick xg.
