  1. I was just curious. The packaging is different from the last one I bought. I know they used to have gluten free on it. Thinking it may be more of a liabilty issue. I haven't had issues with them in the past. Nor with the few I have had so far from this package.
  2. Wondering if you may be located close to their corporate hq, was looking online and they have no mention of it. Maybe you are in a test market store, and that is why they have to inform the manager? One more quick question, what were some of the items on the menu? I used to eat there all the time before I was diagnosed and would love to be able to eat there...
  3. Was sick for a week straight. The only thing I did different was use the Crest Pro Health Rinse. When I called them they informed me that "though they do not put gluten in the product, they do not test" nor do they ask the suppliers for that product. She did tell me that other than the Pro Health, their toothpastes are gluten free.
  4. No longer have gluten free on their packaging..... They have changed their packaging up, removed the gluten free, but the ingredients look the same. Has anyone called them on this yet?
  5. If I remember right, the French Meadow Bakery is who supplies Unos with the crusts. This was from our event. Open Original Shared Link
  6. Our local GIG had an event at Uno's as well. Let me try to find the thread, as the local paper did a small story on it. Unos does not make the gluten free pizzas on site. They come individually packaged in their own pan, ready to bake. This is to prevent cross contamination. I will agree that it wasn't perfect, but it was really nice to sit in a restaurant...
  7. I had a problem a while back, but that was my fault. I kept reversing the numbers. Try again today. Make sure that you clear your cookies and browser history are cleared out. Sometimes that simple step makes all the difference.
  8. You have no idea how excited I am to hear that!!!!!!
  9. There was also a mention of that in the last newsletter. Thank you for bringing this into the forum. Hopefuly we can get enough activity on this thread to keep it very visable. Everyone needs to be aware of this.

    ARCHIVED The Dentist And Gluten

There are many products that are gluten free at the dentist's office. Several of their companies actually have gluten free on their packaging. The only things that my dentist has found to be not good are some of the fluoride treatments/rinses that they offer. It is all in what your dentist chooses to use. As far as the gloves go, I have a latex allergy...
  11. My absolute favorite is the Annie's mix. Pamelas is second and Bob's would be third. To be honest, those are the only three I have tried so far. The only premade that is under $8 per loaf in my area is energy, and their breads are truly an aquired taste. Their tapioca loaves make for good stuffing, for future reference. My biggest gripe is gluten free...
  12. Vitamin E can be derived from multiple vegetables and grains. Wheat is the cheapest and most accesible. Many cosmetic/skincare/haircare companies list their source of vitamin E, but not all do. When in doubt, call the company. Ask what their source for Vitamin E and tocopherol acetate are. I have found in every case of using a company that is thorough...
  13. It isn't always the alcohol being an issue. Many hand sanitizers have tocopherol acetate, or wheat based vitamin E as a moisutirzer mixed in with them. (not being a food or ingested vitamin they do not have to list their source for vitamin E) How many people use sanitizers before eating, but don't wash their hands to remove the residue that the sanitizers...
  14. Bob's Red Mill is good, not too keen on their whole grain one though. Their Cinnamon Raison is wonderful toasted. Otherwise I really like Pamela's.
  15. There is a site for people living a gluten free lifestyle, glutenfreedate, but unforunately not very many people seem to be on it. It is free, looks to have potential. I have seen posts on here from a while back about the site.
  16. Got all my results yesterday other than cholesterol. Tests all came back normal. No deficiencies, thyroid is normal, just low on testosterone. (didn't know us women could get low on that). Any new ideas?
  17. Not trying to be gross about it but think about it this way. Your tear ducts and your sinuses are connected. Anything that goes into your sinuses has the opportunity to drain down the back of your throat and into your digestive tract. The eye is a mucus membrane that has potential to spread viruses and bacteria to the body.
  18. Bendadryl depends on the form. When in doubt, call the company. They are really nice about it. Personally I would avoid the gel caps and the majority of the companies I have called have said that gel caps are not gluten free. The caplet forms tend to be the safest.
  19. Make sure your package said gluten free on it. Some of their old stuff wasn't gluten free. I had an incident with them a couple of months ago, when I called, that was the issue. They clearly mark gluten free on all the safe stuff now.
  20. There are a surprising number of people who do react to topical products for various reasons, and it is very easy for people to get beauty items into their mouths. There are also a surprisng number of products out there that though they do not contain the words gluten free on them, are gluten free. I for one try to be cautious, as it is hard to think about...
  21. Walmart's food products are all clearly marked. Items that are gluten free say "gluten free" on them. They clearly mark if there is wheat, or any of the other major allergens listed. They have also recently added the disclaimer on items as far as the facility, what else is produced in that facility. Medications and any other items you have to call on...
  22. I was thin before this started. I have gained 30 pounds in the last 2 years, which is about how long ago that the symptoms started to show. 15 pounds ago my dr told me that I should not gain any more weight, as cholesterol and blood pressure where starting to go up. My last glucose tests all came back normal, I know that I was slightly anemic right before...
  23. I can relate to a lot of what you have said, but am stubbornly sticking to my diet anyway. I feel better as I had several symptoms for many years. It isn't worth the health risks, and looking at my grandparents and other family members, many have severe health problems, as well as other autoimmune disorders. I really don't want to end up like my grandparents...
  24. I eat a lot of protein,(meats, nuts and some dairy/soy) fruits and veggies. I do try to have a variety, but that isn't as easy as it sounds. My nutritionist is at a loss when she looks at my food logs. (which is why she keeps sending me for all these other tests) It doesn't matter how much protein or fiber is in a meal, I am still hungry. It is even worse...
  25. Ok so maybe my post sounded a wee bit whiney. Not quite what I was aiming for, but now rereading it and ouch. I do deserve to get yelled at for that one. More than anything I was just wanting to find out what kind of experiences people have been having. I am still pretty new at the whole thing and do have my moments.
