  1. To be honest with you I am now on my second nutritionist. The first "dietician" had never worked with or had a clue about Celiac. She literally looked the information up on the internet while I was sitting there. The second one I am having my doubts about, as she keeps sending me for all these other tests, many of which insurance doesn't cover. That,...
  2. I am just wondering, as I am still fairly new to the Celiac lifestyle, (diagnosed in Sept)if anyone has had experience with the whole dating thing. I am single, would like to start dating again, but am feeling like this is really going to cause havoc even trying to meet someone. I am a member of the local support group, but I seem to be the only one who...
  3. So since my diagnosis in September, obviously I am way more careful about what I am putting into myself. My problem is I am always starving . No matter how much or how little or how often I am always hungry. When I eat, no matter how much I eat I am still hungry. I never even remotely feel "full" or close. I am already over my ideal weight, and am...
  4. Made for Celiacs by a celiac. C-Liac Support Packs a complete nutritional supplement system for those with gluten intolerance issues. Open Original Shared Link
  5. I have noticed over the last couple of weeks a major change in product labeling. Particularly in the "products made on a line that also...." spot. Rich Chocolate Ovaltine, many Nestle Chocolate products, and many of the "Great Value" items from Walmart. Has this caused any concerns for anyone else? I know this is something that isn't new, and many companies...

    ARCHIVED Fort Worth

I used Texas Digestive Disease Consultants. Went to their Keller office. They listened, and did well. Just a head's up that all the testing is very expensive.
  7. I had the Walmart pharmicist actually point to the number on a box and say "You need to call them" when I asked if a product contained gluten. I have found it is just way easier to call the manufacturers first. The numbers are also available on their websites so you can call before you go. I had another pharmacist at a different chain actually tell me...
  8. Certain forms of Tylenol brand have gluten. I called the company and they mailed me a list of their gluten free drugs. They also sent a BUNCH of coupons. None of the rapid release are safe (darn!) I know the caplets are safe, those are what I use. It all has to do with the coatings with their products. The list of all is at home. I will post later...
  9. I gave up on them a while ago. It is impossible to get a straight answer from them, and my health is not worth the risk. If you call them, they will tell you that they don't use gluten, but they don't check the finished products nor do they even ask their suppliers. There are plenty of other companies out their that value customers and will be way more...
  10. Avon does no longer issue lists. Their customer service number no longer gives information other that "you need to talk to you doctor before you start using any new products". If you go through an Avon representative, they can get all the information without problems. We have a rep in the area here that is also gluten intolerant, and she has been an awesome...
  11. Has anyone used these vitamins? They are from Balance Point Natural Medicine. They were mentioned at a local support group meeting recently and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them yet. Thank you!!
  12. When I called last month none of the adult Benadryl are gluten free
  13. Neutrogena doesn't guarantee anything gluten free. They give the whole shpeal when you call about they don't use in manufacturing but due to handling etc.... As far as Avon, they won't give consumer's info but they do give their sales people the info. We have a sales lady in our gluten free support group localy and she brought us an updated list of gluten...
  14. If Pfizer's website states that their item contains gluten, I would believe the manufacturer. They change formulations of fillers from time to time. Unfortunately gluten free lists sometimes aren't updated fast enough.
  15. Bare Minerals lip products are not gluten free. I spoke with their rep this morning. Neutrogena does not use gluten, but will not say that any of their products are gluten free, (Revlon also says the same thing)
  16. I called Bare Escentuals this morning and asked specifically if their lipsticks contain gluten. I was told yes, I then asked if they have any lip products that are gluten free. The response I received was "all of our lip products contain gluten".
  17. I just got off the phone with Bare Escentuals. (a.k.a. Bare Minerals). NONE of their lip products are gluten free.
  18. List of wheat/gluten free products I received yesterday from Paul Mitchell: May 10, 2008 Shampoos:
  19. First off being a Professional Stylist and newly diagnosed Celiac has been a definate learning experience. When in doubt, ALWAYS contact the product company. They are more than willing to help, and they have the answers available to them. Most companies list a phone number on their packaging. This is what I have learned in the last 24 hours. Paul Mitchell...
  20. I am having a dilemma. I cannot seem to get any straight answers as to whether or not the Louis Rich Turkey Bacon (the one approved by south beach) is gluten free. The label is confusing and I can't get a straight answer from anyone. I was confirmed celiac on Monday so am still in the process of weeding out my fridge and pantry. Any help would be appreciated...
  21. Just wanted to let you know that I emailed Neutrogena last week and they emailed back that due to the manufacturing and handling process they cannot guarantee that any of their products are gluten free.
  22. I would love any info I could get. I am in the beauty industry so can't really get away with showing up to work au naturale. I am supposed to start the diet next week after I get the biopsy, though the symptoms and blood test say positive so I am attempting to get a head start on all this. Any help with makeup, haircare and skincare would be much appreciated...
  23. I am new to this whole thing. As most of the posts on this topic are from last year, I contacted both Revlon and Neutrogena. They both told me the exact same thing. Due to the manufacturing, and handling process neither company is willing to say that any of their products are free of wheat or gluten. Too bad.
