  1. I say Enjoy Life's boom choco boom dark chocolate bars. OMG they are so good. I don't taste a difference in these in comparison to other dark chocolates...plus there is only three ingredients and it's ALL allergen free! If you have a local store that sells organic or gluten/wheat free stuff, they may carry it. Mine does! I wasn't supposed to, but during my...
  2. My mother recently discovered she is also intolerant to soy. I am doing an elimination diet and am quite sure I am intolerant to it as well. I think my issues with milk is because my intestines are just too damaged. I plan to try to add it back in towards the end of my diet. I'm on halt right now due to having to take antibiotics. I have a nasty bronchial...
  3. Oh. MY. GOD. I am watching a local tv channel and I'm flipping through and hear the words, "totally gluten and wheat free" and I stop. This is a bakery/food prep place that is a dedicated place. The host of the show is interviewing the owner, Rosie and they discuss the complications of being gluten and wheat intolerant and she actually says...
  4. Well I was well on my way...I had begun eating chicken, bananas, rice, potato, and carrots. Then I had to start antibiotics, so no new foods were introduced. My appetite was nearly nothing. Then after Thanksgiving I resumed eating just those foods. Now I'm back on antibiotics...again. Sorry to anyone who has been following my diet, but I ended up with ear...
  5. Mine is all out of whack if I get glutened...VERY VERY painful, clots, and extreme PMS symptoms (swelling, bloating, irritability, emotional...) I'll be late or early...and lasts 7 to 10 days rather than 4 or 5. I am not sure why it posted twice and don't see an option to delete.

  7. Yeah i realized that at Thanksgiving. I don't have an option to go back and edit it...
  8. If you carry the gene, I've read, heard and been told that there is more than a good chance you have it. I would do the gluten free diet anyways...what do you have to lose? Well, gluten, but that is a good thing anyways because you'll probably feel better even after just a couple weeks. Some people say they feel better within days. Good luck
  9. I had blood tests done and they were negative. But also was told that since I'd been gluten free for quite some time, it would give a false negative and to ensure a true test I would have to willingly eat something I know is bad and be re-tested. I am not doing that... I got over the fact that I just HAVE to know because I feel tons better being on a gluten...
  10. I am also assuming you mean ME. I've been on it since November 4th. I broke it for Thanksgiving and had NO issues what-so-ever. It is working very well for me
  11. Yes, true, but most have different standards OR/AND produced in a dedicated gluten-free facility. If there is a discrepancy in the product, then they need to fear. If they are confident in their products, then there is no need to fear. The profit could go up, forcing people to purchase REAL gluten free products that are certified for fear of purchasing regular...
  12. Namaste brand is allergen free...they have brownies, cakes, flour blends...cookies...and VERY VERY good! I made a chocolate cake for a coworker's birthday two weeks ago and EVERYONE loved it. The brownies are SO good and even better when you add pnut butter or bake them a minute or two under the time listed on the back of the bag.
  13. No mishaps, no glutenings for me. My mom placed a fork on top of each pie. It signified that THAT fork went with THAT pie and announced to use the fork ONLY for the pie it is on. LoL and someone said "why?" and my mom replied, "Because me and my daughter will be sick if you don't." We wouldn't have had issues if there weren't "other" pies brought. My mom...
  14. I have mentioned Namaste over and over. I LOVE Namaste!! Mine NEVER turns out dry though. My coworkers love when I bring carrot cake.
  15. small frequent meals...no carbs after 3 pm...keep red meats at a minimum. Low corn intake as it is also high in carbs. good exercise routine at least 3 days a week fitday.com is a good way to keep track of things and your calorie/fat/carb/protein intake. I don't suggest eliminatimg carbs that you may go back to eating again. I don't suggest...
  16. So last night was awesome. The entire dinner was gluten-free besides two apple pies that were made for my mom's husband. She made those last and kept it VERY clean...I looked around behind her to make sure nothing that would get to my mouth somehow was either covered in the dust or even romotely near. She was good to keep things that way. When my aunt...
  17. Last Thursday I asked my locoal Apple Crate if they could carry this bread. She said she was VERY interested in carrying a new item and that if the bread is THAT good then she will definitely contact them and see about shipping and stuff to NC. BTW I mentioned how popular it is on this forum and she said, "If it's the talk of the forum, I would VERY much...
  18. A co-worker of mine sent me an pdf of their gluten free menu. Do they seriously have gluten free pastas??? and BREAD??
  19. Ok, so I was back on my diet for two days after finishing the antibiotics. These stupid meds have REALLY screwed with me in more ways than one. If I can ever avoid taking them ever again, that would be great. Today is an exception and probably the next few days. I will moderate what I eat today and prevent stuffing myself, but it's the only time...
  20. The first year that I was going gluten free, I didn't have a good time at thanksgiving. I ate what I could, and that is it. Last year my mother said screw it and cooked a Thanksgiving herself...she did it all gluten free for me and her. It all turned out very well. This year she was able to talk her family into coming to HER house, so this year it's even...
  21. It has not happened to me, but that is one MAJOR thing my mom went through. She is now 47 and was told by her doctor that she was going through pre menopause. After being gluten free now for a few years she has returned back to normal However, every once in a while she get's glutened and usually those accidental ones are bad for her. She will have those...
  22. Well first off I'm doing an elimination diet. I'm craving everything imaginable! Pop Tarts Pizza Sushi (since I can't do soy, what am I going to dip my rolls in??) Donuts (it's an every Friday thing at work...thanks to our boss) Chinese (in all it's nasty glory) Bagel with cream cheese Oreos (however I found a recipe on this site for homemade ones...
  23. I am currently doing an elimination diet and thinking it's soy that I am intolerant to as well. I am in the same boat as you. I don't know what I will do without cool whip It has soy lecithin in it. HOWEVER if you have a sweet tooth, try Enjoy Life boom choco boom dark chocolate bars. I found out about them on here and checked my favorite...
