  1. Before starting my elimination diet, I was eating yoplait EVERY day and never had any problems (to my knowledge). In other words, I didn't start my elimination diet with suspicion that it was the yoplait giving me issues. I can't help, sorry...just figured I'd add that I am relatively ok with yoplait.
  2. I don't think those pumpkin spice latte's are safe... here's a link to one of the threads here
  3. I have noted before that I enjoy the brand Schar. It's german. I LOVE the taste, however it gets dry quickly. I have never heard that European brands contain wheat gluten. See that is just scandalous to do that. How evil. I hope not. I did not recognize any known symptoms that could have come from the Schar bread that I ate.
  4. Ear is feeling a bit better, still kinda warm and bubbly feeling. I DON'T WANT TO BE SYMPTOMATIC TO EGGS! I don't have gas or cramps or anything...I think it was because the only solid food I had that day was that ONE small grilled chicken tender. Everything else was just bananas and the hard boiled eggs. I think it's safe to say eggs are ok...I'll continue...
  5. My mother had once been told if she asks the person making her coffee to please use a clean sterilized pitcher that it would be ok, so long as what she is DRINKING is gluten free. However, she still had issues. She no longer goes to starbucks. I've not had starbucks in over two years. I can make a latte at home. For alot less. I would definitely cut out...
  6. It might be a bit more easy for you to go gluten free since you have another life to worry about. Ya know? Congratulations!!!
  7. Hmm that is kinda hard to digest *pun intended* Um, yeah I would like to know why the good bacteria diminishes. Perhaps when we go gluten free, the good bacteria goes away because we aren't ingesting typically "good" things in the general sense. Even though our intestines cant absorb it...ummm so it leaves...and...yeah, I'm lost That is not...
  8. How bout an easy button for us with intolerances and Celiac and us who've diagnosed ourselves!
  9. Ok I have been looking up info on this, can't find anything solid yet...anyone have and advice? I was RX'd Cefdinir, the generic of Omniceph. I found this: "Omnicef- the main ingredient Cefdinir is fermented on soy, contains guar gum, strawberry and cream flavoring. However, the generic is not fermented on soy." I don't know what the cream flavoring is...
  10. Is this an antibiotic? I was at the doc's yesterday, onset of an ear infection and I am calling the pharmacy now to ask them what the name of it is because I can't remember...just know it started with either cip or ceph...
  11. Yes the ear thing just popped up yesterday. Well, the pain anyways. It's been draining a bit on it's own. But I used to be plagued with ear infections as a kid and came very close a few times to getting tubes put in. But miraculously each time, it cleared up before that happened. But it is definitely a pain you don't forget. Yes I wanted to add rice...
  12. If I have a bag of bob's red mill baking mix and it expired in september, is it still good??? I'm doing an elimination diet, so it will be quite awhile before I can have anything.
  13. DAY SIX UPDATE Today was an incredibly crazy day. 1 banana and 2 eggs for breakfast. Got to work, then had to take care of health insurance issues...my ear is feeling worse and I now prefer NOT to wait any longer. It's been doing some draining and this morning the pain is worse...soooo I had to go take care of my military insurance and get a letter...
  14. From what I've heard and read that maltodextrin is by law to come from corn (in the USA) and if not it's supposed to say what it came from. Also it's considered a highly processed ingredient, therefore rendered safe. Still I stay away from it though. It has the word "malt" and I won't take my chances.
  15. Is it heaven? What? NO? omg... it's pumpkin smoothies/shakes...it MUST be heaven? Still NO? What about the gluten free oreo recipe....that is DEFINITELY heaven! ...what? NO? Oh well...it's close!
  16. I think that is the typical reaction for most of us here when we find we've been glutened! "Oh crap! Are you SERIOUS?" I think I'm going to add that to my signature
  17. I guess MRE's are OUT of the question, yikes... My husband is a lifer (that's the plan)...in his 4th year, deployed twice. He doesn't appear to have any serious health issues, but I plan to still have him DNA tested along with myself before trying to have babies. Annnd from experiencing second hand just how non-caring (maybe that's harsh) the doc...
  18. Symptoms HAVE definitely improved! Yes I'm keeping a daily log. The nuts were plain and came from my local gluten free/whole foods store. They were organic and plain. I ate ALOT of them, which I said already, but I certainly wouldn't eat that many again.
  19. I kinda took that the same way and was going to say to just read labels and look up any questionable ingredients. But I didn't want to heat any pots up, ya know? I thought only real deli meats like Deitz & Watson and Willshire Farms, Applegate Farms, Hormel were the safe ones. There are a few others, can't remember them all. mushroom...
  20. BEGINNING OF DAY FIVE UPDATE So far today I feel good. I had eggs and a banana for breakfast. Hubby is going to grill my chicken for me later. I still have leftover soup too with chicken and carrots. Bowel movement was a little more spongier than yesterday's, but most of it sank so that is good...however, had more of a metallic odor. Is that...
  21. I can proudly say that isn't happening to me...lol...and hope it doesn't
  22. I haven't taken it and will not take it the H1N1 vaccination. I did however get the regular flu shot...by husband's request. This is the first year I've EVER had the flu shot. He has to since he's in the Army. I used to get bronchitis quite often, and the regular sinus infection if I wasn't on meds for it. But the past 2-some years (since going gluten...
  23. That was neat to read GFinDC The digestive system has always fascinated me and even though I retained alot of what I learned in anatomy, it still amazes me to realize just how cool our bodies are and shame on those who clutter it full of nasty fast food 3 times a day.
  24. Isn't curry spicy? It could be that...I have to be very careful with spicy foods now...tends to run right through me if I've not made it homemade (like salsa, etc)
  25. I used to get migraines on average once a week...headaches...almost every day it seemed. My left arm will tingle or feel flushed with warm water, go clammy and cold back to warm again (then sometimes I have a panic/anxiety-like attack). I started getting heart palpitation like symptoms in college...it's inconclusive actually, but I experience them more than...
