ARCHIVED Gluten Digest
minniejack replied to edye911's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
thanks for that last post. The post about the neuro is the one that sealed the deal for me--we can deal with bathroom visits, but the neuro problems during school months are just not worth it. for the bathroom problems, we just use L-glutamine, a simple amino acid found at the drug store I'm dreading a trip to NYC with my daughter in February,... -
ARCHIVED Pamela's Cheesecake
minniejack posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Just got the email from Pamelas Products. They have these scrumptious looking cheesecakes, Raspberry chocolate, hazelnut, chocolate with fudge, NY style. But the price is $49.51 through Amazon--way out of my budget for a cake. Why would they have them priced so high? I won't even buy the cake from QVC that costs over $40 and it was huge. 8 raspberry... -
ARCHIVED Bi-aglut Pasta - Fantastic!
minniejack replied to Eric-C's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
What do you think of Schar brand compared to them? My tastes have changed so much over the past year of being gluten free that I keep going back to some of the original posts that I've done about Bread on Amazon and think, "Wow, I thought that was the best bread ever???!!" -

ARCHIVED Bi-aglut Pasta - Fantastic!
minniejack replied to Eric-C's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Just the other day my DD16 mentioned that she really missed pierogies. I told her that I would make her some, but she whined and said that wasn't the same. So...a little research later and I came up with this company from a blog and here is their reply. From: Miller's Gluten Free Bread Co. llc <gfbreadco99@optonline.net> Sent: Thu, Sep 17, 20... -
ARCHIVED Delfi Forum Gf Pro. List
minniejack replied to Lisa's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I bought the Triumph Grocery Guide. It was kind of hard to use--it really needs an index. It's okay for beginners, but there were a lot of products that weren't in my area. I just found it easier in the beginning to go the whole foods, plain route and then when I started to add foods back in like Chinese, then I just googled everything and used this... -

ARCHIVED Rustic Crust Pizza And Sauce
minniejack replied to minniejack's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
In my case, I think it was fate. P.M. me and I'll see if I can find one in your area. Mine is through United Natural Foods. My family is considering moving across the U.S. and I'm just now looking into checking where other co-ops are through their site. And hey, for anyone else who wants to try it, I checked out their site and you can put in your... -

ARCHIVED Rustic Crust Pizza And Sauce
minniejack replied to minniejack's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Okay, I received my case of 12 with 2 in a pack today...the size was a little disappointing--personal size and it looked a little greenish through the packaging. I'm thinking what a huge waste of 50 bucks. Then I opened the package and took out two golden discs. Okay, looking better. Spread some olive oil on them, sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. ... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Beer?
minniejack replied to Nevada13's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I've only been able to try Redbridge, which is carried by most Wal-marts and Kroger stores. For my DH who loved Bud Ice and Bud Light--we water the Redbridge down some and he likes it better- me, too. I love dark beer, but I think it's a little heavy. -
ARCHIVED Coconut Oil
minniejack replied to twe0708's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
The unrefined, virgin, kind is what you are looking for. I've tried Spectrum--it's okay. I liked Nutiva, Harvest bay and Now brand. If you have a Rite-Aid, GNC, they also carry virgin coconut oil. On a personal note, it's very good for marital relations, if you catch my drift.... -
ARCHIVED Applegate Farms gluten-free Nuggets
minniejack replied to minniejack's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Found a box of the gluten-free nuggets at Kroger today--my buddy in that dept. claims they've always had them--maybe someone keeps buying them before I get there, but they've never been there and I'm there about 3x a week. Anyhowwww....these are delish!! I ripped open the box as soon as I got home and had one for breakfast just to taste. Really good... -

ARCHIVED Is gluten-free Rice Chex Actually gluten-free?
minniejack replied to jasonD2's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
We've just tried the new chocolate flavored Rice Chex. These are great. My DD16 was complaining that I always give her some time of chip in her lunch and her friend started eating the bag of choc chex that I had packed and told her to shut up because they were sooo good. -
ARCHIVED Help With Supplements
minniejack replied to newceliac's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I swear by L-glutamine. It's better than immodium for the rare time that I get glutened. I just put a little of the powdered in my water and drink. We bought a bottle of the gel capsules to have on hand in the car for emergencies when on the road. Kefir is good for your immune system and now they have kefir made from coconut milk (So Delicious--I... -

minniejack replied to teitei's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Have you tried Kinnikinnick's pancakes? Their pretty good. Gluten Free Mama's Almond Flour site has a very tasty (more vanilla) mix. Gluuteny's from Pittsburgh--very good price with very little taste. -
ARCHIVED gluten-free Cosmetic Products Free Of Salicylates
minniejack replied to sylviaann's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
We've never had a problem with any of those. The only thing of the Phys Form that I tried was the powder without problem. I just bought the mascara because it will be free with the online form that you find by googling. We seem to only major problem with ingesting the salicylates. Thank goodness because I've been using the coconut oil for about 4 months... -

ARCHIVED Are Reese's Dark Chocolate Cups gluten-free?

ARCHIVED French Meadow Gluten Free Tortillas
minniejack replied to minniejack's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I took the plunge and ordered 2 breads and 2 tortillas and one macaroon. Shipping was 9+-. I can say: I loved the macaroons. At least, I don't have a case of either, which saved me money in the long-run, because the only other way to buy them for me was to buy a case from my co-op. -
ARCHIVED Applegate Farms gluten-free Nuggets
minniejack replied to minniejack's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Side note: While researching these nuggets, I entered Applegate Farms lunch box contest and won. Today, I opened the door and there was this box from Applegate Farms. I'm thinking, were they on this forum and sent me a sample?? Well, I opened the box and there was my prize and a handwritten note referring to my little memory to win the prize. Can... -
