  1. Seeing the effects gluten has on individuals, am I the only person out there that has a solution to America's obesity problem? Too much gluten in our school lunches! Read the headlines yesterday about the retired military personnel that say that there are too many soldiers that are disqualified because of their obesity and it's all the school lunches...
  2. Love the San-J too, but if you can't find it, then the Bragg's liquid Aminos could make do.
  3. Just found another crust that so far is my all time fave. Schar's. Thick, chewy. I'm thinking if I put some butter on it, it'll taste like Pizza Hut's. Yummm. At 1st the size looked incredibly small, but because of the thickness, the 2 pizzas contained in the pack was enough for a family of four 2 teens and 2 adults.
  4. That's what I did last year when my son had been vomiting every day at school. See, for every parent out there that thinks kids shouldn't have cell phones. Well, it came in handy when he took a picture of his vomit so he could show the principal.
  5. I said I was going to be out of town at Easter and I wasn't. Next holiday, I will NOT be around my family. My sister (50ish) was handed a big piece of cake. She was sitting beside me and smirkingly asked, "So you can't eat this either?" "Uh, no, it's made from flour," was my reply--I wanted to add you moron, but chose to be kind. Then she looks at...
  6. I've been gluten-free for over 1 1/2 yrs and initially eliminated all milk products. Slowly started adding milk back. Drank kefir, had cheese, but still never able to drink a glass of milk. Now within past couple of months, I can't even had products that have cream cheese in them. Can still have mozzarella or other cheeses, but no ice cream or cr...
  7. I've been missing the BBQ corn chips. This week I made a fantastic purchase with those new Planters Black Chipotle nuts--yuuummmy. A small handful and you get the yummy taste of bbq fritos w/o the gluten. And they work easily into my diet.
  8. I wasn't impressed with the French Meadow. They broke when folded for me even trying to wet them 1st or microwave them. Recently, we been using spring roll wraps. Kids love them. Not exactly a tortilla, but it's not lettuce either and it doesn't fall apart. Little tedious wetting them, though, too.
  9. Was just at the store and the little ones that I glanced at did not list wheat. My DS noticed that the commercials now say Hershey's Cadbury Eggs. Could it be just old stock on the shelves and the Hershey formula does not contain gluten?
  10. Got the brilliant idea to take their lemon muffins, top with strawberries and whipped cream....Aahhhh Now that was delicious. And the best part was that since their muffins are so huge, we have 2 left over to do it again tonight.
  11. wheat free, but not paraben free see costmetic safety data base yes, I'm a consultant--also the silver tubes are several years old--ick factor??
  12. Post is old, but I thought I'd add my 2 cents... Mother's rice cakes....verrry yummy and also says gluten free right on bag.
  13. There are a few other threads on here about these. My family ate the big ones without problems, I saw on the little ones it still lists wheat. Maybe different parts of the country have different products. I hope you feel better soon.
  14. My sister just called to tell me that they have gluten free products at the Wonderbread store in town. Went to take a look and it was Bob's Red Mill products. Flours, mighty tasty hot cereal, rice and a few dollars cheaper than grocery stores. So if you have one of their stores in your area, you might want to check them out.
  15. As someone still selling Mk mainly for personal use--you hit the nail on the head. corporate just doesn't get it. There are many more companies out there willing to put their ingredients right on the label so that customers can see what they are buying. There were several products that had wheat in it that caused me problems and they would not replace...
  16. Bought 5 last week, looked at the big box holding the eggs so I wouldn't have to strain my eyes seeing the foil wrapping. Nothing at all about wheat. Me and DS14 who are highly sensitive ate 2 each and DD16 ate one. Delish and no one was sick!! We were a little scared of the 1st bite, but it was so yummy... and then to not get sick, as the commercial...
  17. Our entire family needs to be gluten free. Nothing to contaminate it with around here. No, the label never listed wheat before and now it does.
  18. sorry I didn't get back in time for your superbowl pizza. Tons of snow around here. The first time I made the cr cheese crust, I sort of forgot it was in the fridge for a few days and it was still fantastic. Like you said, you would have never known it wasn't flour. I baked the Udi's on a straight rack in the oven for 10 mins and burnt it! At...
  19. We love Against the Grain--works best if you put directly on the rack in the oven--crispier. I just bought Udi's and haven't tried it yet, but if their bread is any indication, then it should be great. If you can do dairy, we found a really good recipe that called for cream cheese Open Original Shared Link
  20. try Better Batter gluten free or gluten free mama's almond flour blend before you start experimenting. already made up for you with just the right amounts and taste really good. Both can be ordered online. Some people like Jule's but I've not tried it. I was really going throuh the flour when I was trying to find the perfect bread, but now that I've...
  21. Yupp--those are the words on the same brand which I screwed up my son with.
  22. Rainbow light brand. The entire family takes the active teen. They really help with both my teens acne--could really tell over Christmas vaca when they didn't take them. Be careful, though, not all of their vitamins are gluten-free.
  23. My DS14 came home from school on Friday, with a flaming face and soaring temperature. I could immediately tell that he had been glutened. I gave him the 3rd degree of what did you have for lunch. Did you eat a salad with croutons? Took his temp which was over 103. An hour later I was cooking supper and trying to rack my pea brain with what he could...
