ARCHIVED Response From Post Re: Fruitty Pebbles
Darissa replied to Darissa's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
On the box, they don't say Gluten Free on the front. It is on the side panel, on the top above the nutrition label. Kinda hard to see unless you are looking for it. Not our kind of cereal on a regular basis either, but a nice treat every once in a while for my daughter who is almost 11. -
I recieved an email today regarding Red Lobsters new alleregan menu. There are not that many things that are gluten free, but there are a few things. Steamed Lobster, Shrimp Scampi, and the best part CHEESECAKE! It is a crustless cheesecake. I think that is what I miss the most when dinning out is gluten free deserts. Can't wait to try it. Here is the...

ARCHIVED Response From Post Re: Fruitty Pebbles
Darissa posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I saw on the box of Fruitty Pebbles from Post that they now say GLuten Free. I contacted the company and this was their response in case anyone else wants to know. (And I know they aren't the best thing for you...lots of sugar! But nice change every once in a while for my 10 yo Celiac Daughter and I!!) Thank You Post for realizing the importance of CC... -

I hope you do try them! We love them! Enjoy! -
Back in the day I worked at Subway (pre gluten-free) and nothing than was considered safe in eating gluten free. Maybe things have changed, but nothing was kept seperate, and CC was an issue. I would not try it. The workers wear gloves, but they handle all the bread and toppings and meat / cheese all with the same gloves.

At Walmart, we buy Mrs. Leepers Corn Pasta. Our favorite gluten-free pasta! We serve it to guest when they come over, and they all really like it. It is sold in a bag, orange in color. Our Walmart has the rotini (we use it for spaghetti or mac and cheese or casseroles) but our Whole Foods has Mrs. Leepers Spaghetti and macaroni too, but it is more expensive...

ARCHIVED Crustless Pumpkin Pie
Darissa replied to Rowena's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I make pumpkin pie 2 different ways. I make a crustless pumpkin pie, with the recipe off the Libby's canned pumpkin. I just omit the crust. It bakes like a custard, and we really like it. If I am wanting a crust, I have made different ones with crushed gluten-free cookies and with homemade pie crust and with gluten free pantry pie crust mix, but our... -
I put mine in the freezer as soon as I buy it. Last forever. I buy a lot when our local Sprouts does their 25% off sale of their gluten free products. Never had a problem.

ARCHIVED Whole Foods Gluten-Free Frozen Pie Crusts - Prebake?
Darissa replied to abe68's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
We love the Whole Foods frozen pie crust! They are so yummy! I do prebake mine, with the edges covered in foil, at 350 for 7-8 minutes only. I poke a few fork holes in the bottom of the crust to prevent the crust from puffing up. I used to not prebake the bottom crust, but found out we like it much better prebaked. I also use these crust for my chicken... -

ARCHIVED Tortilla Land Uncooked Corn Tortillas
Darissa replied to Darissa's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
According to their FB page, the tortillas are gluten free. We tried them. They were not any good. My family is not very picky eaters, but no one liked them. They went straight into the trash. -

ARCHIVED Tortilla Land Uncooked Corn Tortillas
Darissa posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I found a new product at Costco today. They are uncooked, corn tortillas. They don't look like they have any gluten in the ingredients, but I am wondering about CC during processing with all of their wheat tortillas products. I tried the website, with no information there regarding gluten. I tried to call the company, but have to wait until Monday. I... -
THe baked potatoe and frosty are some of my standards when I'm out doing errands or working on the road. I always explain my "allergy" (even though its not an allergy) and they always change their gloves. I have not done good with their Chili. I am very sensitive to CC. But, in the summer, my kids love when we get to go and have a Frosty! Fun times. ...

We eat at PFChangs frequently because it seems thats the only place the we can rely on for us not to get sick:) We have eaten at them in several states and cities. The egg drop soup is all gluten free, regardless of which menu you order off of. The lettuce wraps, as far as I remember, have never come out on their circle plates (which is what the gluten...

ARCHIVED Snyders gluten-free Pretzels
Darissa replied to Jestgar's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have found them once at Whole Foods in Scottsdale, AZ. We loved them! I bought 2 bags, and wished I had bought more. They were on sale for 2.50 a piece! Great price for gluten-free pretzels! Our Whole Foods in Chandler AZ did not have them yet, and neither do any of the grocery stores I frequent (Frys, Walmart, SafeWay, Sprouts). I am hoping some other... -
So glad you enjoyed it! Sorry I forgot to mention to make reservations!! It helps so much! We love the lemon chicken and the ginger chicken and egg drop soup also! Great menu. We went last night too, but here in Phoenix! Since that is one resturant we normally eat at, we signed up online at their site and have a card so we get 10% off when we eat there...

ARCHIVED Suggestions For A Pumpkin Bread Mix?
Darissa replied to Sunshine24's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I found the easiest pumpkin bread/muffin recipe this week! I will add the link. It uses the yellow betty crocker gluten free cake mix (which makes this so easy) and a few other ingredients and my family loves them! The are really good. I had lost my old gluten-free pumpkin muffin recipe, and was looking online this week, and tried this one...and now I don... -
The store is Against The Grain in Taylorsville. We always shop there when in town. I often pack a suitcase full of food from that store to take back to Arizona with us because I really like some of their brands of flour mixtures they have! Its a great store. Everything is gluten free in the store. Easy to get to off the I 215 and 5400 south. THey are not...

I also forgot to mention ZTejas. We haven't eaten at the one in SLC, but we have here in Phoenix, and it is good. They have a limited menu, but seem to do well with it in regards to gluten-free. Here is the link for the one in SLC. Open Original Shared Link I would diffently try PFChangs downtown. Like all PFChangs, they have a very large gluten...
