  1. I have had good service when I was in a Moxie's in Winnipeg. Same thing, they made sure that I found something gluten-free to eat. i love the fact that they have on the bottom of each page of their menu to mention if you have allergies to say. I even said that I dont like wild rice (because I dont, i think its gross ) and so they changed it to white rice...
  2. i'd like to try the blackcherry coke or whatever it is called, I havent seen it yet tho haha. (i cant drink the vanilla coke, it makes me sick!) But none of the other coke products has bothered me, so whatever, I keep drinking them. Without it, there just wouldnt be rye n' coke ~lisa~
  3. I try to avoid the shampoo with gluten in it if possible. Sometimes I end up feeling odd for the day (like slight glutening). Except the bad thing is most shampoos for dandruff have gluten in them Thats why I swear by Cliniderm (Open Original Shared Link). Expensive, but good ~lisa~
  4. I drink lactaid milk (very expensive, but good), and try to have the extra-strength tablets on hand in case i'm away from home and gotta eat milk .. for butter i eat fleshmanns or however you spell it, they have lactose-free butter. ~lisa~
  5. Its a tie between the bloating, nausea, arthritis and diahhrea. They are all just as horrible for me, and never seen to go away . ~lisa~
  6. how about some apple cinnamon waffles?? If you can find them, they only take a couple minutes to brown (even in a toaster oven) ~lisa~
  7. I have this problem too. I am normally a size 5, but some days I can be 100% gluten and lactose free, and even when I wake up in the morning, bloating, and then i'm a size 8 just from air. It always adds at least 5 pounds onto me. Its kind of funny, because then if I sit, I can stick my finger to my belly and it can get lost in the air, because I can push...
  8. I know its very tough staying gluten-free. My first probably half a year of being on the diet I ended up glutening myself, mostly because I didnt know just what I had to avoid. I think its probably why I am so much more sensative to it now, that even a crumb or 2 coming in contact with gluten-free food makes me sick!! Stick to it. It takes time, and I...
  9. Thank you everyone, again..for you hugs and thoughts. Really means a lot. I'm waiting for something good to happen in my life, honestly. Yesterday I found out that I cant go for the career plan I have chosen because ONE CLASS doesnt meet the standards. In college now, you need a 60% to pass. Well, my one class i got 61%, so i thought you know, great...
  10. any biopsies I had from an endoscopy and colonoscopy were negative. a lot of GIs seem to believe that it dont matter how long you are gluten-free before getting the biopsies, the tests should still be positive and he should still be able to see damage. So according to them if the test is negative, you dont have it. Thats what happened with me. But I...
  11. OMG all this talk about being strong, I dont feel very strong right now I had such a horrible day right from the morning..I had to miss the day of school (the 2 classes i was supposed to go to) because I could NOT find a ride into school at all, then I felt sooooo crappy all day that I barely ate even and just cried during random times of the day from...
  12. For toothpaste I use Colgate usually, but thats because they've got the flavoured ones For shampoo, I use Clinaderm. I am not sure tho if its available in the U.S. Its got absolutely NOT possible things that could irrate skin (no formaldahyde, no protein, for perfume, and a few other things not in it). It even helps with dandruff and dry skin. And...
  13. talk about feeling like an idiot... My teacher is still out with a busted leg, (and she had broke her right leg, so she cant drive into school), so we've been having to deal with 4 different substitutes. Well, today we saw 3 of those substitutes (the 3 who know nothing about me being sick)...and OK my regular teacher, she knows that I have to go to...
  14. Thanks *hugs everyone back*. I wish they could be real hugs! i felt like such an idiot yesterday, having to leave class because I was having an allergic reaction just to someone flouring a cake pan for their demonstration in school. My eyes started burning, skin was itching, felt like I was going to sneeze. So i had to leave the class and...
  15. Thanks, guys. Mahee, Chelse, CarrieFaith, thanks for saying that you've gone thru it too...you must know how hard it is to concentrate on the tests, and I am sure you all had the problem of having your marks drop dramatically... Honestly, tonight during class, one of the girls that I basically never talk to, followed me out into the hallway to ask me...
  16. Yeah i feel like whining about the pain in here, too. I dont know why I even have this blog, but all I can add (so I dont forget) is that its been 52 days that I have been sick and getting worse...
  17. OK, I have a one hour break in between classes now, so I thought I'd come into the study lounge, steal a computer, and write this up. During the middle of this last class I seriously had to leave the room to go to the bathroom, because the pains caught me so bad that I couldnt even breathe already... Soooo painful. And I seriously had to cry...
  18. Ohh the garlic sticks is a good idea I too love Kinnikinnick pizza crusts, ok well...I love EVERYTHING Kinnikinnick haha I make weird pizzas sometimes, even once made a porkchop pizza. (with chunks of porkchops, red peppers, mushrooms, and cheese on top) Now you make me hungry, and its only 10 in the morning ~lisa~
  19. Yeah i get sick a lot more and lot easier since being gluten-free. Even tho i follow it very strict now, it seems to be making my immune system weaker. I didnt even bother going for a flu-shot this year, because I got one last year for the first time, and I ended up sick more than when i DONT get the shot! Its a big pain in the butt if you ask me ...
  20. I had gone for 2 biopsies, (from uh----top and bottom ), and they took 3 samples from each biopsy and all of them came back negative. Yet I know that I am intollerant AND allergic to gluten, so I just stick to the diet and say I have Celiac even tho the tests may show otherwise. I think in some cases we ourselfs are the only people who can give the proper...

    ARCHIVED #&$#@!% Waiting...

Still basically getting nowhere with all of this. I missed school today, saw the family doctor that had referred me to Regina.. He said that the only way he could call to really get in earlier is if it was an emergancy (like, if I was already in the hospital, and needed to see the specialist that day or the next). So he said all he can do is send...

    ARCHIVED #&$#@!% Waiting...

OK so I saw a DIFFERENT family doctor today. I was just going in to get a prescription refill, and he ended up checking my stomach out... He booked me for an Ultrasound here in Yorkton (which I cant get in til May 16th), and send me to give another urine sample... And he is concerned or thinks that I may possibly have a cyst But i guess I...

    ARCHIVED #&$#@!% Waiting...

I've got an appointment for monday. I cant really afford to miss school but thats really the one day of the week that I could afford to miss, and its not like i'm skipping it for fun. She said that it has to be the doctor who referred me that I talk to, because it'll have to be him that calls to the specialist. I promise I will keep you all updated, keep...

    ARCHIVED #&$#@!% Waiting...

So I called to the office there in Regina and it was really no use. I talked to the receptionist...And explained that i've already been sick for over a month so I would like to get in quickly... She told me that everyone who goes to see him is currently on a waiting list of 6-8 months. And that there are only 4 gastroenterologists in the city, and really...
