    ARCHIVED #&$#@!% Waiting...

This afternoon (when i get home from school) my plan is to call to the office and explain my situation. Tell them that i've been sick for over a month, and would like to at least see the doctor BEFORE I start the 2nd year of college. And this IS my only option, really. The one in Saskatoon would take even longer to get into (which is why they rarely send...

    ARCHIVED #&$#@!% Waiting...

As I am sure all you here know, I have been sick again (badly...in the constant severe pains) for over a month now. So i FINALLY get my letter of referral, back to see one of the gastroenterologists I had seen 2 years ago... WELL... My consultation is: September 19th I am telling everyone if I drop dead before then, at least you will know...
  3. I called to the doctors office and managed to get in to see the same doctor I did last week... I told him that the Clavulin didnt improve anything, the pains are still there. So he felt my stomach, and then he said he isnt sure what it can be already .. So he said go back for bloodwork again(which and did).. He also said that he'll send a...
  4. I keep meaning to come back to this post, and give the name of the pasta place I ate in Regina that gives you choice of gluten-free Penne (they charge $1 extra for the noodles), and has discounts from sunday to tuesday, and now i forget what they are called haha. Oh, but i do know this: Western Pizza (at least in some of their locations) makes gluten...
  5. well i dont know if they are related, but i do know that i didnt get asthma until after i got celiac and was gluten-free... and i dont run because i'd probably drop dead from asthma attack and too out of shape so cant help ya there.. ~lisa~
  6. I wish I could give you advice. I know its like no use trying to convince my family to get tested or and after 3 years, they still dont even fully support the gluten-free life i try to live. Hope you can convince them somehow! ~lisa~
  7. Yup I definitely have the same problem. Even things that arent even food-related allergies are more sensative since i've been gluten-free. And i remember when i had allergy tests done a few years ago, some of the weirdest things came up as allergic to (even meats and such). I cant eat most vegetables .. raw, or boiled, most of them make me sick. and not...
  8. I've talked to both of my pharmasist, and they say theres nothing you could really do about it (because if I need it, I need it, and none of them have had any substitutes).. ~lisa~
  9. Well so much for this medication making me dopy enough to sleep Its after 2 am right now, i have to wake up in 5 hours, and even though I am dozy/dizzy i cant sleep because my stomach is throbbing/burning .. how nice ~lisa~
  10. Hey, welcome. Warning when you talk to Lisa's, specify which one There are many of us I'm still waiting to have that always positive/smiley feeling, but its so nice to see there are some Celiac's out there who do! Then again, you've always had Celiac (and I've only had it for 3 years). I'm 21 too, so we probably deal with a lot of the same feelings...
  11. Thanks guys. I dont think I did very well on the exam at all. And you know, I was planning to study tonight, but I ended up falling asleep for 3 hours after taking my medication. The one I am on, Clavulin, the main side effect is stomach pains (which I am definitely getting those side effects). So I dont even know the difference between my normal...
  12. So after my not that long (but not that easy) midterm, I got home, relaxed for a bit, and went to the hospital @ 5:30 .. well it made me mad, because the nurse (who i've never seen before) checked my temp/blood pressure, asks whats wrong, I had to tell HER how to spell Celiac, and told me to wait .. and so I sat there for 45 minutes, and she comes back to...
  13. Probably not, because I have always been cooking my own meals since being gluten-free. And very rarely do they even eat what i do...only if i make it myself...so even though most of my family dont believe me, my parents finally realized i am as sensitive as a say..(just not about these mysterious/horrible pains).. i did kinda poopy on this test, i forgot...
  14. Thank you Patti(and others). I wish that the people closer to me (distance wise) would care for me this much. I'm actually taking a break from the studying right now. I've been at the school for almost an hour now, I figure maybe if i take breaks in between i wont panic.. Plus it is so hard to concentrate. Like i said, the pains just dont go away. I only...
  15. I've been gluten-free for basically 3 years, but i'm the one whos been having the additional/unknown stomach problems for the last 3 weeks that the docs cant figure out...
  16. Yeah my stomach is not any better, I'm getting no support/interrupted at home (being told that cleaning is more important than studying, being told when and how to study, etc). My parents now dont even believe my stomach pains are from eating. They think its because of nerves .. but its not, the last time I got nerved up for tests I was having Colitis...

    ARCHIVED Caffiene?

I can't say that I have a problem with caffeine from any source...if it wasnt for coffee I'd never get through the day. Even when i make instant coffee about 3 times normal strength, it doesnt give me the runs or nothing. (thank god lol) Yeah i'd die without coffee. I'm a coffee-holic. Enough said ~lisa~
  18. Thanks for looking into that! ~lisa~
  19. Yeah I drink lactaid all the time, I just wish it would be a little less expensive ~ lisa ~
  20. So I went back to the hospital tonight when I got back into town, around 7:15 .. And I didnt get home til almost 9 .. She asked me when was the last time I had a colonoscopy, I said basically 2 years ago .. And then I had to get x-rays, and evil bloodwork .. The bloodwork turned out fine, she said everything is at a normal level .. She said right...
  21. OK so, bit of an update .. the pain, it does not go away anymore... the meds only work enough that they zonk me out so i dont feel it for a couple hours... still anything I eat makes my tummy instantly churn and make noise... tonight during classes I nearly had an asthma attack, I had to go take my inhaler because of how much pain there was (I couldnt...
  22. I'm from Saskatchewan...come on lets find someone from every province ~lisa~
  23. I dont eat at mcdonald's, and even though it seems to be an issue with just McDonalds in the U.S., I still dont think I could ever trust eating there again... I hope someone can get some real answers! *hugs anyone affected* ~lisa~
  24. Yeah I was always scared to even try their cappuccinos because I never knew what was in them..there was an even more specific ingredient list, if anyone wants to know just whats in any of those gluten-free stuff... ~lisa~
  25. I'm definitely not feeling better. Today was worse, much worse I was even MORE careful about contamination, that I even only ate cheez whiz (from my own jar) on plain rice bread for lunch. And I thought I would die. So i went to outpatients when I got home after school, and it was funny the doctor was like "all my friends are coming back to see me"...
