ARCHIVED Finally Looking For Answers!
txplowgirl replied to amberlynn's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
No maam, your tests will more than likely come back negative because you are not making the antibodies to gluten anymore unless you have been getting alot of cross contamination. Sounds to me either you are getting gluten cross contamination somewhere or you have developed another food intolerance. Are you eating a lot of gluten free foods? They are high... -
ARCHIVED Could A Blood Test For Celiacs Be Wrong?
txplowgirl replied to macie376's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Oh definetly yes on the negative blood tests, even on the scope to because they can biopsy the wrong area. You can still have celiac and get negative tests. If and when you get all your testing done that you want go gluten free strictly for about 3 to 6 months. Especially since you have a realtive with it. Wouldn't hurt you to have your kiddos tested too... -
Hi Twe0708, Yes it can be downright frustrating when the other half just dosen't get it. Been there for sure. But, unless you have an allergy to gluten where you have a reaction to gluten touching your skin you're ok. Just to be on the safe side wash your face when he kisses you on the cheek. But it is when he hasn't brushed his teeth when he's drinking...

ARCHIVED Enterolab Testing & Validity?
txplowgirl replied to vbecton's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Putting all the medical mumbo jumbo aside. Sometimes it just comes down to people needing a piece of paper validating that something is wrong with them. For some that means being able to stick to the diet with no cheating. Plain and simple. -
After I went gluten free my anxiety eased somewhat but it was when I took out both soy and dairy also my anxiety totally went away. I had depression and social anxiety disorder since I was 7 years old. I am off my all my meds now and depression and anxiety dosen't come come back unless, i get glutened, soyed or dairied. Have gone caffine free and it's brought...

ARCHIVED Severe Bouts Of Sugar Problems
txplowgirl replied to lovinit4's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Yes maam, I figured that one out about 2 months into my gluten free diet. That was hard for me, cutting a lot of my sweets out. But I've been able to replace with other things. So, hang in there. It is a learning curve, but you will feel so much better on the other side that it will be worth it. -
ARCHIVED Caffine Withdrawal Symptoms
txplowgirl replied to txplowgirl's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Thanks Gree, so far I havn't really had any headaches to speak of or feelings of irritability, knock on wood, It's just a rundown feeling and crying every couple of hours for no apparent reason. Then again, it being that time of the month too might be having more of a reaction to it. I just know it's feeling a bit different than normal and also now that... -
ARCHIVED Terrified Of My New Gluten Free Frontier.
txplowgirl replied to Valkyriedoom's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Valkyrie, Yes, it can be overwhelming at first but like anything else, it gets better with time. If you want to be tested you have to go back on gluten. The longer you are gluten free the less antibodies to gluten you are making and can cause a negative test. You have to be on a full gluten diet. The equivelant to 2 to 3 pieces of bread for about 2 months... -
I went totally caffine free about a week ago now, and I'm feeling really tired and i'm getting depression and crying jags. I'm eating clean, it's just since I quit the caffine this has hit. Is this normal caffine withdrawal? And how long will this last? This is wicked feeling. Oh, before I forget, i'm drinking Bigelow's Decaf Earl Grey tea and i'm sweetening...

ARCHIVED Are My Symptoms Test-Worthy?
txplowgirl replied to churchlady's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Churchlady, Welcome to the forums. Your symptoms sound like you have a gluten intolerance if not Celiac itself, the problem though is sometimes the tests can be negative and you still show symptoms. So, after all your testing is done go gluten free. That will be the best test. As for overweight, I am 5 ft 2 and when I found myself going gluten free... -

A positive biopsy is the gold standard. You have Celiac and your dr needs to go back to school. He's an idiot. -
ARCHIVED Input?
txplowgirl replied to quakenbake's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Quake, Hope you get to feeling better. Just to let you know, there is a high negative rate on the tests, so you may show negative on the tests but you still can have a gluten intolerance. So, after all the testing is done that you want I would go gluten free. You don't have to have a dr's permission. Since you seemed to find a little relief in just the... -

ARCHIVED Arthritis Or Thyroid Problems?

Nightshade vegetables and soy both cause the tingling like you're describing for me. That went away after I was soy free and nightshade free for 6 weeks. I hope you can get some answers. -
ARCHIVED I Had Relief For 3 Months, Then....what Happened?
txplowgirl replied to Topo's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have a couple of thoughts. Could be a reaction caused by the acidity in the apple juice, you might have been cc'd, or you have developed another food intolerance. Have you been eating more soy? Soy will do that to me as well as gluten. Like I said just a thought. Hope they go away soon. -
ARCHIVED I Want To Share This Glorious Moment
txplowgirl replied to revenant's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I'm happy for you Revenant, I pray your mother will be easier on you and your sister now. Keep up the good work and perhaps show that show to your sister too. Maybe it will help her also realize that she can get better. I'm keeping all of you and your family in my prayers. -
ARCHIVED Do Intolerance Symptoms Increase?
txplowgirl replied to mammato5's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I agree with mushroom, I am gluten intolerant, I went gluten free then after a year I tried to do a gluten challenge. The first 4 days were fine then I slowly started getting sick, couldn't sleep, my body started hurting, fatigue, daily headaches, as well as quite a few other symtopms. By the end of 2 weeks I was so miserable, I was depressed, anxiety... -

ARCHIVED How Do I Know If I've Been Glutened Or It's Something Else?
txplowgirl replied to BethM55's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It's almost impossible to figure out, but it may have nothing to do with gluten. Now, this is just my opinion, but that sounds like possibly a fibro flare caused by stress or: Did you drink any diet drinks with aspartame in them because that will cause that kind of pain. Did you eat any potatoes, tomatoes, bell peppers or eggplant? All these will cause... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Herbal Teas
txplowgirl replied to txplowgirl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks everyone, i'm drinking Lipton and Luzianne, and no matter how much I dilute it, it has a stong taste that makes my mouth dry for some reason and and causes a tiny bit of reflux. That's why I was asking in another post if the tea bags might have been sealed with gluten. I was hoping the herbals wouldn't do this. -

txplowgirl replied to GAD.. AKA unsure....'s topic in Doctors
Hi Gad, Welcome to the forums. There are a lot of us on here who have a lot of your symptoms and more and recovered. I had social anxiety disorder and clinical depression since I was 8 years old. Like a lot of us, I went through dozens of dr's who thought I was trying to get attention, all in my head, hypchondriach, etc. Been on so many different meds...
