  1. It's not appropriate in my opinion. Is it from eating at the same restaurant? Many restaurants offer gluten free options. They are often meant for people trying to follow a healthy gluten-free diet and not those necessarily with Celiac. I've had good luck with Outback!
  2. I was diagnosed by my new(at the time) Dermatologist at age 56 in 09 with DH/Celiac. He did a time lime working back in my life. I was actually born with a rash and my Dermatologist thinks I was born with it. He said the book on DH/Celiac is still being written. I react to 6 other foods. I hope this helps.
  3. FYI, It took me over 7 years to pinpoint other foods that contributed to similar issues. IMO, if you need to ask about buying a new toaster to start a second gluten free diet you really need to read more.
  4. It's more like a fast-track laxative event, without any DH issues. The strange part is that I can eat the same baker's chocolate bar or desert without the chocolate being reheated and not have an issue. I've been strict gluten-free diet since I was diagnosed with DH in June of 09. My kitchen is strict gluten-free and I've spent over $2,000 making it...
  5. For some strange reason I have issue with dairy free/gluten-free chocolate when it gets reheated and applied to a goody, like a donut.
  6. Sabaarya, Are you anemic?
  7. Hi, Sorry to hear how Mom and family is caught up in a catch 22 situation. IMO, you need to call your local Social Services ASAP. Please report back with updates.
  8. Emily199, Many of us here aren't newbies, including me. Eating out does have a risk factor involved and one needs to learn to question how the gluten-free foods are prepared. Many places have a web site with contact info and you need to use it to inquire as to your concerns. Some of us here have DH as well as celiac disease. I can't have bananas...
  9. Emily199, You have the power to control what you eat. Most places offer a few gluten free options. It's up to you to order food that's safe for you. Hopefully you can get this under control, before your body starts rejecting other foods. Remember, you have the power! Good Luck
  10. I had some neck issues causing my hand and finger issues, before carpal tunnel issues. For years it felt like I had all thumbs in the mornings, before being diagnosed with Celiac
  11. Hi Mazzing, Sorry to hear you are suffering with many issues. Were you ever tested for Celiac? Did you ever have a nerve conduction test on your hands or feet?
  12. It is what it is right now. I use my phone app to check and see if it's safe for me.
  13. Hi, Help me understand your definition of a, "Severe Case", Do you have that as a written diagnoses from your Doctor? Do you have a note from your Doctor not to work, with the pandemic/ BTW, Do you have DH?
  14. So you did a 90 elimination diet and you're positive that you gave it enough time? Remember it took me 10 years to find relief. Yes, it took 10 years to figure out 7 foods that are gluten free that were causing GI issues. It takes a long time when your body has issues with multiple foods.
  15. Sounds like some other food or foods may be bothering you as well as gluten. It only took 10 years to figure out the 7th food that was bothering me.
  16. My arms, wrists, hands, fingers and shoulder
  17. Low vitamin D is Bad, as well as HIGH vitamin D. I had those bone aches and one year after being diagnosed and being gluten free I tested 14.6 (vitamin D). It took 9 months to get my D up with prescription D(50,000 IU). Will your Vitamin D labs be covered in the future, once you're diagnosed with Celiac?
  18. You may consider gene testing to see if you are grouped with those with celiac. I had a co-worker go gluten free and it changed his life. He didn't bother getting diagnosed before going gluten-free and it backfired on him down the road. We both ended up on different job sites and I didn't see him for several years. When we crossed paths several...
  19. It really would help to know if you have celiac disease. It was from an infant till age 56 before I was diagnosed with DH/celiac. It was 10 years ago that I was diagnosed after suffering so many years. I can't eat the big 4 plus onions, nuts, corn, dairy, bananas or strawberries. On top of that I'm border line on the sugar and on a low salt...
  20. Do you eat peanuts without issues?
  21. Easterlily, Are you sure you're eating a strict gluten-free diet??
  22. Kam, Been there. IMO, You need a new MD, one that knows how to treat those with Celiac Disease. I need 5000 ius of D3 daily this time of the year(late fall till early spring). Good Luck.
