  2. My husband bought this at Whole Foods - from prepared foods section. Would any of you eat this? Tuna with sundried cranberries and lemon, ingredients are: tuna (light tuna, water, vegetable broth (carrot, potato and soy extractives) onions lemons salt sundried cranberries sugar canola mayonnaise (canola oil, eggs, vinegar, honey, salt, spices...
  3. Nini, Sorry to go off topic, I know you are having personal problems, but I'm wondering about Chiropractors. What exactly are they used for? Do you believe they get results? Again, sorry you are having work problems.
  4. Lisa, I've tried Prilosec, but it gives me a giant headache. Also, I've read that once you start using the PPIs, that you can't stop. I feel like Zantac is an "old" medicine, with not so many side effects.
  5. I've had this burning stomach and nausea since February. I've been gluten-free since Sept. 2004. The same thing happened to me last year around the same time, and it lasted for several months. My dr. doesn't think it['s related to celiac, but after several tests, he says he really doesn't know. I'm taking Zantac 150, but it doesn't help much. I never had...
  6. I was told by the Celiac Center in New York that Bobbie Brown lipsticks are gluten-free. That's what I've been using.
  7. Marimarston - I just returned from visiting my daughters in New York and I ate at several good restaurants that offer a gluten free menu. Risotteria Lumi Rice Asia de Cuba Candle 79 Peter's Gourment Diner Sambuca Check the Gluten-free Restaurant Awareness Program for New York Restaurants.
  8. Can anyone in Florida suggest a brand name for Corned Beef? Krogers doesn't exist here and I shop in Publix. Any suggestions? Thanks. Kathy
  9. Mookie03 and Jkmunchkin - kind of off topic, but I'll be in NY on Friday visiting my daughters - have either of you eaten at Hampton Chutney Co.? I've heard their "doshas" (sp)? are gluten-free. thanks!
  10. Has anyone heard of NAET.com allergy testing? My daughter directed me to this web site. I'm thinking about it because I'm not getting any relief for my stomach problems from my GI Dr. Let me know if anyone has any info on this site. Thanks. Kathy

    ARCHIVED Caffiene?

I haven't been able to drink coffee in nearly a year. A few months after going gluten free, I started having stomach pain and nausea and I had to give up all caffeine. I sorely miss it. That was the one cup a day I drank each morning. Now I have to drink herbal tea and it isn't the same. I drink 7up Zero when I want a soda. I don't have any explantation for...
  12. My local mexican restaurant told me they marinate all of their fajita ingredients (even the vegetarian) in soy sauce. (Told me this after I ate it)!
  13. Timber4est - I recently attended a workshop given by Bob & Ruth's Dining and Travel Club. This husband and wife team travel to amazing places (including cruises) and all the food is gluten free. Here is their website for more ino - www.bobandruths.com or call (410)486-0292.
  14. Has anyone eaten at these restaurants in New York? A new one has just opened on Amsterdam Ave., and my daughter stopped by to speak to them. The said their Dosa (crepe made from rice) and their uttapa (pancake made from rice) are both gluten free. There are many different fillings (I printed a menu) that go into these crepes and pancakes. There are other...

    ARCHIVED Gerd !

Marciab - Interesting that you get relief from potatoes, rice, etc., I've been reading a forum for GERD and several people advise a low carb diet, the opposite of what your're eating. Any advice? Jnkmnky - apple cider vinegar - I'm afraid to eat any vinegar right now because of my stomach pain and nausea - how would that help? Thanks
  17. I've been reading a forum for GERD and several people support a low carb diet to eliminate GERD. Anyone here following this type of diet for GERD with good results? Also, many people believe meds for GERD (nexium, prilosec) actually increase the problem. Opinions?
  18. Does anyone eat Whole Food's "prepared foods"? I didn't see it mentioned. We have a huge selection of prepared foods at my store (Plantation, Florida) but I'm not sure if they are safe.
  19. Last week I was in Hale & Hearty Soups in NYC. I spoke to the manager and he told me to look at the card on the back of each soup which lists ingredients. I had the white bean with spinach because all of the ingredients looked fine. I also think the tomato with rice was OK. I look forward to seeing what the company reply is. Last...
  20. Ooops not sure what I did - it's been a while since I posted. I did not have stomach trouble until about 5 months after going gluten-free. Maybe this is a coincidence but suddenly I can't drink coffee, juices, spicy foods, without getting terrible burning pain and nausea. My Dr. doesn't think it is connected to celiac disease, but who knows. I take zantac...
  21. Bought one of these at Whole Foods today. I couldn't remember if they were on my safe list, but on the label it said "contains milk, soy and nut ingredients". I ate about 3/4 of it and then read the ingredients - oat bran was listed. OOPs. Mad at myself for making a mistake.
  22. I'm having trouble finding Mission tortillas at Publix. What other brands are people using? Thanks.

ARCHIVED Looking For Doc In Nyc

Lushgreen, No, I was diagnosed here in Florida. I brought all my medical records and biopsy slide with me. I decided to go there because after being gluten-free for several months, I am having stomach pain/nausea. Dr. Lee thought I was doing well with the gluten-free diet (because my TTG # had come way down. She agreed with my Dr. in Florida that I was probably...
