ARCHIVED Well Now I Got In A Fight At Pf Changs.
Frances03 replied to conniebky's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I think you were totally correct. I probably would have been worse. I would have said "hey, this isn't marked and I want it remade" and anything she said after that I would have just kept repeating myself until it got thru her head I like what you did, totally called for! -
ARCHIVED Cooked Sausage Patties
Frances03 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I just called them today and was told there is no gluten and no chance of gluten cross contamination. I'm glad! I bought a big bag at Costo and plan to use them to make pancake, sausage and egg sandwiches Just thought I'd share if anyone else shops at Costco or wherever else they sell these. They are fully cooked so you just heat them in the microwave... -
ARCHIVED Rice Krispies
Frances03 replied to es2443's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
HA!!! I dont think I'll follow your advice at all. Rice Krispies are NOT gluten free. There are other cereals that are, but this isn't one of them! And I'm talking about the United States so can't speak for elsewhere. Also Kellogg's doesn't really make ANY gluten free cereals, do they? So the cross contamination chances are probably pretty large! I... -
ARCHIVED All My Make-up, Shampoo, And Lotion Has Gluten!
Frances03 replied to ll79's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I found this on the Giovanni website. It doesn't sound like any of their products are necessarily gluten free. Q Do your products contain Gluten? A Our product formulations contain ingredients that are derived from a variety of sources and combinations of derivatives. They are manufactured where products with gluten are also produced. With this... -
When we travel through Wyoming, Outback is about the only place I can find to eat! I've found they are pretty knowledgeable about their menu. I did have a problem ONCE when I found in a crouton in my salad. Since then, I've been more careful about ordering, making SURE they know that I cannot have ANY gluten, telling them not to make my salad with the...

ARCHIVED Scones From An All Purpose Mix
Frances03 replied to gfmolly's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
OKay! sounds great. I would like to try to experiment too, but it's too hot right now to turn on my oven. But maybe when it cools off, I can try it! -
ARCHIVED Opinions About "gluten Free Living" Magazine?
Frances03 replied to Coolclimates's topic in Publications & Publicity
The thing that turned me off was the review on Amazon saying they would not refund her money. Any company that will not issue a refund to a customer who is not satisfied sounds like a bad place to deal with to me. I'm not going to give them a dime of my money now that I know that about them! Plus their price is outrageous! I'm glad you started this topic... -
ARCHIVED Costco
Frances03 replied to ltaylor882's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I LOVE our Costco. They have gobs of gluten free things (US). In fact they recently had an article all about gluten free in their monthly magazine. I buy SO many products there. Quinoa, corn tortillas, refried beans, their frozen taquitos, chicken meatballs, smoked shredded pork, sliced fajita beef, their broasted chicken is gluten-free!!, lunchmeat like... -
ARCHIVED Scones From An All Purpose Mix
Frances03 replied to gfmolly's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I didn't answer because I'm with YOU, I want a good scone recipe!! I had the most amazing gluten free scone the other day and then I saw your post on the same day! So I was waiting around hoping someone would post a recipe -
ARCHIVED Chebe-Who Uses It And What Do You Make?
Frances03 replied to Frances03's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
OH yeah, you can make hot pockets! The package says to prepare you add 2 tbsp oil or margarine, 2 eggs and 5 tbsp milk. (you can sub milk sub or water). Then you can make: Rolls/Biscuits/Breadsticks 6 inch sub Doggie Wraps (like a hot dog with the dough wrapped around it and baked) Calzones (this would be like a hot pocket. You just roll out the... -
ARCHIVED Chebe-Who Uses It And What Do You Make?
Frances03 replied to Frances03's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
My husband and 2 of my sons don't have to eat gluten free, but we have a gluten free household now. They ALL love the chebe. I have never tried any pre-made chebe, only the dry mixes, so all my comments are about that. I've found that Amazon is the best price if it's something you will actually use. For pizza, I plan on just using the regular all purpose... -
ARCHIVED Corn Tortillas?
Frances03 replied to G-freegal12's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I just bought Guerrero brand corn tortillas at Costco. Their website says they are gluten free, they do not use any gluten ingredients in their corn tortillas, and while they do make flour tortillas at the same plant, they are never made on the same lines, they have dedicated corn lines and dedicated wheat lines. They also say they have a very comprehensive... -
ARCHIVED Chebe-Who Uses It And What Do You Make?
Frances03 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chebe. I buy the regular all purpose mix on Amazon all the time. Here are some things I use it for. One package makes 5 rolls. Perfect for my family of 5! I have used it to make hamburgers and they are fantastic! My entire family loves them. It only takes me 2 minutes now to whip up a batch and have them in the oven. I also use... -
ARCHIVED Celiac Disease And Infertility
Frances03 replied to taradorff's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I believe it caused my infertility. I have had lots of testing done to figure out why I wasn't getting pregnant, and NOTHING was wrong with me that they could find. However after my celiac diagnosis, and 8 months gluten free, I am now 11 weeks pregnant. I also had 3 miscarriages in a row before diagnosis. I'm hoping that doesn't happen again now that... -
ARCHIVED Tropical Sno Sno Cones
Frances03 replied to Algdoll's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Just wanted to update this. I just called Tropical Sno today, and was told their shaved ice flavors are all gluten free. I was also told the owner is gluten intolerant, and he enjoys the sno cones, and he cannot eat any gluten. We have a little hut in town that sells these all summer, so now I can enjoy one! And since there's nothing else for sale BUT... -
Thanks Peter, I needed that reminder because I am now pregnant, and I had gone to Wendy's recently for chili. I also went to DQ for a lime freeze (the lime slush mixed with soft serve). I dont want to increase my risk of ANY gluten while pregnant since I've had 3 miscarriages in a row prior to my diagnosis. So, I will have to give up the restaurants. ...

ARCHIVED Is There A gluten-free Bun In The Oven?
Frances03 replied to K8ling's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have a bun in MY oven! And my last miscarriage was 14 months before this pg, with infertility during that time. Also had another year-plus of infertility before that miscarriage. Now, suddenly I'm pregnant, at 38! And so far this pregnancy is going well! -
ARCHIVED Gluten Or Not?
Frances03 replied to hercules25's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Both of your items look gluten free. Like Psawyer said, that soy sauce has it's ingredients listed and none contain gluten. Plus the company SAYS it's 100% gluten free, so I dont think they would then use soy sauce that contained gluten. And MSG does not have gluten even if it SOUNDS like it does. You could just react to msg, as I hear that a lot of people... -
ARCHIVED Schar's Bread/rolls
Frances03 replied to Roda's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I found their bread to be quite dry/crumbly. It was only good for toast in my opinion. It made an okay fried bologna sandwich, LOL, but again I toasted it first. -
ARCHIVED Hypothyroidism/chronic Constipation...gluten Intolerant?
Frances03 replied to lischro's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Well, I can tell you I had almost ALL of those symptoms. I've been hypothyroid for 10 years at least. Been on levothyroxine that entire time too. Also now have a nodule. Was tired all the time, had weight gain (30lbs in one month), was constipated for YEARS, achy, nail ridges, mood swings, bloating all day long. I had ALL that, and I have been diagnosed... -
I know you're very fond of posting the McDonalds french fries story of independent testing by whoever. But, seriously, that was ONE test, and it's not an ongoing test, or a test of all the McDonalds french fries in every McDonalds restaurant. The fact that McDonalds admits that there IS wheat in their french fries should be telling people right there that...

We went to a place in Denver called Blue Bonnet Cafe, strange name for a Mexican Restaurant but they were very busy and popular! Anyway, they have a gluten free menu!! They even bring you special chips that a gluten free, as their regular chips are fried in shared oil. I had a great time and felt really good. I can't wait til next time we are near Denver...

ARCHIVED Pregnancy With Celiac Disease Treated
Frances03 posted a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I am currently 10 1/2 weeks pregnant with our 4th child. My history of pregnancies includes 7 pg's, with 3 children now. I had some sort of hyperemesis (extreme nausea and vomiting) with all of them. I've also had 3 miscarriages in a row, all following the births of our 3 children. With one of these, I was so sick I was sent to the ER twice for iv's,... -
ARCHIVED Sad About Communion Today
Frances03 replied to sandsurfgirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I just bring my own cracker and ask the pastor to bless it the same as the other. If I sat and dwelled on it, I could make myself feel really sad about it but I dont, I just figure I'm glad I have an alternative! Sometimes we just have to change our thinking. -
ARCHIVED Has Anyone Else Been Through This?
Frances03 replied to littlestephie's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Open Original Shared Link Is this what you are drinking?? Because this says "contains barley" right on the ingredients, so I don't see how it could also say "gluten free" on the bottle?? on further research I did find a product made by nestle which is more a nutritional supplement and I think that is what the original poster must be talking about,...
