  1. burdee, How long is it before you get symptoms from delayed reaction allergies? I'm having a tough time figuring out what is bothering me and feel most likely it is because of delayed reactions. Also, how did you get diagnosed with them? I had food intolerance testing done twice and avoiding the foods I reacted to and eating the others on a four day...
  2. I feel your frustration, too. I miss being Susie Homemaker and being able to mix up lots of good dishes. While trying to figure out what is bothering me besides gluten, eating does get rather boring.
  3. It really is a puzzle trying to figure what is making us ill. I have been trying to do that my entire adult life. Now I know gluten is my biggest enemy but there is so much more. It seems like MISSION IMPOSSIBLE to figure out what else it is! Is it cc, dairy, soy, eggs, fish, FM, a group of foods or particular foods, candida, pesticides, mold, etc. And...
  4. I sympathize with you, too, because I keep going through the same thing. I am just coming down from feeling absolutely horrid for eight days. Every other accidental glutening only lasted about 24 hours. Still trying to figure out where the cc came from, if it was cc or if it was something completely different. It could be from anything, anywhere....
  5. Such great news!
  6. I guess I don't really hold a book over my head but close to it. I wear bifocals but can read better by holding a book close and not wearing glasses. I know lots of other people that do that, too. My eye doctor thinks this is ridiculous but one of his employees told me she does the same thing. However, gluten could be getting on my sheets, blankets...
  7. Last night I slept about 1 1/2 hours and woke up. I decided at that time to take mirtazapine. It took a while to get to sleep but then I slept very well. The anxiety is WAY DOWN this morning. Urinary pressure seemed to be letting up by evening last night. I haven't had a BM yet so that is a good sign. I have a mild headache but that is bearable. The...
  8. I agree with this psych information 100%. In fact, I two people in the mental health food told me I had to keep looking for what was causing my problems, suggested books, etc. One was a pschychiatrist and the other a psych nurse. They were not able to find the answer for me but told me it was out there. The psych nurse doesn't even feel comfortable prescribing...
  9. I'm still trying to figure out CC issues here and don't know if this has been addressed. It seems highly likely that used books could very easily cause cc. I like to lie down when I read and hold books pretty close to my face. It just dawned on me that flour or crumbs could be falling out onto my face. Could this be the source of my mystery CC issues...
  10. Quinoa needs to be rinsed well before cooking it. Ancient Harvest quinoa says on the label that it is prewashed so don't know if it needs to be rinsed. Still, a lot of people can't eat quinoa. I bought bulk millet and didn't have any problem with it. I prewashed it like crazy and still was apprehensive to use it. Even though it was a safe experience...
  11. And your fortune from touching the cookie could have been cc! I had that happen a while back at LeAnn Chin. When I told the server I couldn't have it, she said she wan't thinking. If people do take them, they might think we aren't too strict eating gluten free and wonder why they even bother catering to us.
  12. I don't think there is a chance of getting a good night's sleep tonight as the next door neighbor is having a party. Bummer:( I may end up trying to sleep in the basement with the dehumidifier running. It seems to me, too, that gluten is sneaking in. I don't wear makeup and haven't tried any new cleaning products nor am I eating any new foods. I will...
  13. ravenwoodglass, What did you eat for the first six months if you reacted to 98 out of 99 foods?
  14. ravenwoodglass, I am not using digestive enzymes right now. My stomach got worse with some of them I have tried. I really don't know what ones to use. I did test low on them back when the gluten intolerance showed up. Since my food was going through processed until now, I figured I didn't need them but that has changed this past week. Yes, I have...
  15. I read up so much on candida and antifungals and it sounded like what I was doing was safe. If I did aggravate my pancreas or liver, will that repair over time? I saw the doctor this morning and it was what I expected. She wasn't at all concerned about the antifungals I took. She didn't feel that I was too dehydrated. Urine test was normal. I will...
  16. ravenglass, I have used all the OTC candida remedies in the past and have only had moderate die off symptoms. I am going to a regular MD today so don't think I'll get anywhere other than tested for bacteria in stool and urine. However, I'll take them with me and see what she says. Also, about a year ago I tried taking Candibactin which contains berberine...
  17. It does take a while for my skin to go back down when I pinch it so I know that I'm dehydrated. As for sunken eyes, I really don't know what to say. I look like a ghost when I look in the mirror from lack of sleep. I got about two hours last night. As far as IV fluids, are they gluten free? I've been trying to avoid fruits and sweeteners because...
  18. I've had D issues for a week now and feel pretty awful. It finally hit me that I need to replace electrolytes. I've never tried any but think this might be a big help as I feel so run down. What is a good product? I'm hoping there is something that is gluten free without any sweeteners or artificial coloring or flavoring. Don't know what I'll find...
  19. ravenwoodglass, It looks like I will be contacting a doctor tomorrow as the urinary pressure is getting worse. I have some itching now and need to use the bathroom about twice an hour. I'll see about getting both a stool test and a urine test. I wouldn't be surprised if I got a UTI from the bacteria in the D. I know my DO won't be able to see me but...
  20. I didn't get the antifungals from my doctor. He advised me to try garlic for candida and that did nothing. The rest I did on my own but he was aware I was trying different things. I took Candex for three months. After that I switched to grapefruit seed extract. Then I switched to oil of oregano. After that, I used a caprylic acid blend and added olive...
  21. I was taking antifungals and may have overdone them so quit taking them. I have been on a pretty high dose before and never had the same symptoms so I think I may have gotten a severe glutening. I haven't been this sick in such a long time. Had two days of severe D which has tapered off but food is still passing through me pretty unprocessed. Had headaches...
  22. I don't buy cut up fruits or veggies from stores or other people's houses. It's just not safe.
  23. I contacted Proctor and Gamble and was told all their dish soaps are gluten free. Something is making me real sick. I had a gluten dream last night and that hasn't happened for at least six months. I don't know if it is the glutening or that I am trying so hard to figure out what is making me sick that it is always on my mind. Last night I didn't...
  24. How did you test positive for candida? Was it the spit test or was it a test your doctor ordered?
  25. Nadia, Congratulations! When you went off sugar, did you also eliminate fruits and starchy foods? I am having a hard time starving those bad bacteria but feel so limited with what I can eat.
