  1. Did it not say anything about Celiac or gluten intolerance? I think someone needs to enlighten that magazine. If the person that wrote the article had just one of the symptoms it can cause, she would have a different opinion.
  2. How about adding more fruit and vegetables to your diet to add some nutrition.
  3. I think it is difficult for others to understand because they don't have the physical ramifications of this that we do. I don't know how understanding I would be it I didn't have this. My friends and relatives accept me bringing my own food at least. However, like many others, I get invited to meals and to go out to eat less and less.
  4. This doesn't sound too encouraging to me. Just this week I started generic Paxil and generic Xanax as my anxiety was once again extreme. Possibly it came from a severe glutening because I had quite a few days of D, which only seems to happen with cc. I was getting such little sleep and not really able to function. I am scared to be on these meds. In...

    ARCHIVED Poll Time:

Absolutely everything that contains gluten. Don't even know where I start and probably would never stop.
  6. I was told today by a nurse that you should also take a multivitamin along with your calcium, magnesium and vitamin D. She said vitamin A is needed to utilize the vitamin D. I'm sure the rest of the vitamins and minerals are necessary to work together.
  7. lucia, I tried herbs and didn't get anywhere with them either. I just can't seem to get on the right track. It is a viscious cycle with insomnia and anxiety for me. One feeds off the other
  8. I never thought too much of it either until I couldn't figure out where I was getting cc.
  9. I haven't been able to tell others that I am Celiac without a diagnosis. I tell them I am severerly gluten intolerant. However, I am pretty certain that I am Celiac. The reason for this is that I also have hyperparthyroidism which which is an autoimmune disorder.
  10. I don't know if it would work for Jay88 but melatonin doesn't seem to work for me. I tried 3 and 6 mg. doses. Still no sleep pattern. My doctor doesn't want me to take any more than 6 mg. With melatonin, some nights I get fairly decent sleep with waking only once, some nights awake every hour, some nights awake every two hours, some nights I get to...
  11. I also have chronic insomnia. It has been 10 months that I have been gluten free and very strict about cross contamination. I was getting more sleep but never developed a sleep pattern. I range anywhere from no sleep to a full night of sleep, although a full night is rare. I got sick about a week and a half ago and figure it was from gluten. Normally...
  12. You could have gotten cc from a dirty cup. Was it a reusable or disposable cup?
  13. K8ling Thanks, That helps a lot and sounds like a good approach for me.
  14. When I go out to eat with friends, I usually eat first. I don't get asked to go out very often anymore. Go figure! I have eaten out a few times where I know there are gluten free options and haven't gotten sick. I haven't found a restaurant in our small town yet where I can eat. A group of friends gets together once a month to play a game called Bunco...
  15. Does your church provide your wafer or do you provide it? If you provide it, do you bring it with you each time you have communion or do you store it in church? Do you wipe down your Pix in front of the church or do you go back to your seat before you have your wafer? The was told that my new church will work with me and whatever I come up with is...
  16. Gluten is my "germ"

Never diagnosed as Celiac as had bloodwork done after was off gluten for a long time.

However, since I have hyperparathydism, I figure it most likely is Celiac.

  17. Wow! That was really a high TSH level. I attribute my hyperparathyroidism to gluten intolerance or Celiac. I was tested for Celiac after I had been off gluten for a long time and was just getting sick from cross contamination. However, since hyperparathyroidism is an autoimmune disorder and so is Celiac, I figure that is what I have.
  18. The church I attend will have a separate wine or grape juice glass for me. I am told I can bring whatever I want for the bread, even pretzels. However, I haven't done it yet because of cc issues. I can either bring my "host" ahead of time or bring it the day of the service. How do I handle this? If someone else touches it, it can get cc because they...
  19. tarnalberry, I'm so glad you brought this up. I have ostepenia due to hyperparathyroidism. My endo NEVER said anything about taking magnesium. He wants me taking 2100 mg. calcium daily along with 2000 IU Vitamin D. I supplement with a bit less calcium and a bit more Vitamin D. I do take 100 mg. magnesium bis-glycinate each morning. It is suppose...
  20. Very funny! I love it!!!
  21. However, just wiping them off may help no matter what you use.
  22. It was (Company Name Removed - They Spammed This Forum and are Banned) Worldwide. Sorry about that, I forgot they were banned. Look online for food intolerance testing, Deerfield Beach, FL and you will find it. The first time, gluten didn't show up. I was eating quite a bit of wheat every fourth day, eating regular oats on another day and threw...
  23. Maybe I need to stick to the newer library books as they haven't been handled as much. Some used books could be just as bad.
  24. Debbie, You and your family are in my prayers. Having to go gluten free is hard enough when the finances are so limited. Many of the suggestions others offered are quite expensive. Using whole foods is about the best advise there is and also the healthiest. Rice, dried beans and potatoes are pretty inexpensive and you can build meals around them. ...
