  1. I had it done twice, about a year and a half apart. The first time I wasn't gluten free and gluten did not show up on that test. I now know I was gluten intolerant at that time. Anyway, avoiding all of the foods that showed intolerance didn't help. I went on a four day rotation diet with the foods that tested O.K. When I had the test done 18 months...
  2. Last week I used Blu Swim chlorine removing shampoo and saw that there was wheat protein in it. This is the first shampoo I've tried that actually removed chlorine from my hair. I was extremely careful with it and rinsed like crazy. I have very short hair so figured I got it all out. I was pretty careful to not ingest any. I did have some D issues...
  3. Insurance would cover it. However, I wasn't consuming huge amounts of gluten by the time I found out it was an issue, so the endoscopy may have shown no damage. There is no way I can go back to eating the amount of gluten needed for the endoscopy to show villi damage. I get reactions from cross contamination so would get too sick to go through with that...
  4. I like the thickness for drinking and especially on cereal!
  5. Try adding more almond milk to it and it will be thinner.
  6. When will I find out what? Candida or Celiac? I tested gluten intolerant when I was on a rotation diet and not getting any relief. I was eating wheat every four days. I gave up gluten but wasn't made aware of cc issues by my doctor and didn't get any better. After six months of that, my doctor tested me for Celiac. Of course, all the tests were negative...
  7. I have no idea since I never had an endoscopy nor do I plan on having one. I am hoping it is a candida issue since I am still battling that.
  8. Nine months later I still have brain fog and short term memory issues. I've been trying to rid myself of candida for quite some time with natural supplements. I definitely need to see my doctor soon about trying Nystatin. Can anyone help me out with what a normal dosage is. Is generic Nystatin effective? Is there a chance the generic would contain...

    ARCHIVED Taco Bell

I was expecting what Mcphena said. Our local Taco Bell is combined with a Kentucky Fried Chicken so there is even more cause for cc. I was at our local Burger King for coffee this past summer and saw a worker actually touching the burgers without gloves on. No way would I eat there either.

    ARCHIVED Taco Bell

To me Taco Bell spells cross contamination. I normally don't have much of a problem with it but have been very careful with where I eat. Let me know if you are able to eat there and not get sick. I'd love to give it a try.
  11. I vote for Impossible Bisquick Pies. There are tons of recipes online. The only one I've tried since going gluten free is a zucchini one. It took a lot longer to bake than the recipe stated but turned out great. I put quite a bit of cheese on it and it was yummy!
  12. My guess is that there will be a lot of people that will try this diet because it is the "in thing to do". Some of those people may get very sick when go back to eating gluten and at that point come to realize that it isn't just a fad diet for them. Others will go back to their gluten and be O.K. with it and still believe that it is just a fad. Stacey...
  13. Great idea! Just had the ducts cleaned and wallpaper will be removed from our bathroom soon. Most likely I'll have to do it myself so hope I can keep from getting cc.
  14. Anxiety was so severe with no relief from any medication. After going gluten free and being careful not to get cross contaminated, the anxiety went away very quickly. It sounds like you definitely can be gluten intolerant. No doctor even considered that for me until after I suffered from diarrhea for quite some time. It was all in my head up until that...
  15. I didn't attend a picnic with my husband this past week and so many people asked why I wasn't there. He said that I can't eat pizza or broasted chicken and since these are foods I love that it is too hard for me to watch others eat them. This was a catered picnic and there were a few other things served but it didn't souond like they were safe either. ...
  16. Connie, Wishing you a speedy recover! Jackie
  17. It sounds to me like your stomach can't handle big meals now. Try sticking to many small meals throughout the day if possible. I've been told that is actually the healthy way to eat, even though I don't do it. I don't have any tummy issues though. I'm guessing if you do this for a while that you'll be able to handle bigger meals before too long. Good...
  18. I went for ten years with exteme exhaustion and mild depression and doctors found nothing wrong with me. Then I spent five years with changing symptoms including severe headaches and back pain, insomnia, anxiety and worse depression. It was still all in my head. For a close to a year, diarrhea was added to everything else. Finally, figured out gluten...
  19. With Chelsea Clinton having a "gluten allergy" there may be a lot more research done on Celiac. Hopefully a lot more people will start to think it may be the cause of why they are so sick and not getting better. I really believe it is a cause of so many illnesses that doctors are completely missing. Way too many people are suffering when they could easily...
  20. I agree with Glutenfreemanna. IBS stands for "It's Bull poop". In other words, doctors through on that label because they don't know what it is. There is a reason behind why our guts react to things. It may be gluten and it may not be, but something has to be causing your problems. Doctors all to often tell their patients it is IBS and to deal with...
  21. This sounds very similar to my life. If only my doctor had told me about cross contamination, I could have healed six months sooner. I was off gluten except for cc when my doctor ordered the Celiac panel. I never had the endoscopy as I figured it was useless. I know I cannot consume gluten and have to be careful about cc issues.
  22. I'm pretty sure Tylenol is gluten free. I was going to try it but Advil works better so I use that when I get a headache. Before going gluten free, no pain reliever ever helped.
  23. A lot of buckwheat pancakes also have wheat flour in them so be sure there isn't any in hers.
  24. If your kiddos can tolerate dairy, there are a lot of ice creams that are gluten free. A lot of places can tell you the ingredients in their ice cream. Sure they'll have to have it in a dish, but they can still have it as a treat. If they can't go out for a meal, hopefully they can enjoy ice cream with the others. If it has been three years since you...
