  1. Yeah - I hear ya, I didn't have the biopsy and I regret it. My symptoms are very severe and I now I can't do the challenge. My dr is positive its celiac bases on my family history and severity of symptoms but I gotta say. I really want an official diag -I really hate not knowing for sure!
  2. Hi there, Some of us test negative on the test even eating gluten ever day of our lives. I'm not really sure that 5.5 days is enough - I wouldn't be surprised if you tested negative even if you are celiac. When people do a gluten challenge after being gluten free to get tested they do 2 months of eating at least 4 slices of bread a day. It might be worth...
  3. Did you have your blood panel and genes test done yet? Sounds like it could be that - my mum has it and thats why it came into my head as well. It was like - 'this is all starting to make sense'!
  4. hiya, after my c/section 4 months ago I developed a UTI. I went onto anti bs but within 4 days it had spread into my blood stream. Luckily they caught it early. But I have no doubt that my autoimmune crap is the reason I can't seem to do anything without ending up with infections. This was the worst one but I've had very bad infections (not ones that turned...
  5. The fact that you have tested positive twice for lupus is pretty suspicious of the fact that you may have it. I mean -your hair is falling out, you feel rotten all the time, you are losing weight. Celiac is an autoimmune disease and you are therefore more likely to have another or more of them there seems to be correlation between connective tissue diseases...
  6. Okay - so casein is in lactose free milk as well? Should I try him on soy maybe or rice milk or something?
  7. The reason I asked is because my symptoms happen within 30 minutes
  8. Okay - thanks so much! I'm still not sure its celiac...and if it is I suspect there is something else going on as well. He is very lactose intolerant and has been since he was born and I thought if he went gluten-free the lactose intolerance would resolve - but it hasn't and now that he is gluten and lactose free he still has foul stettorhea and complete...
  9. Macro have just released crumpet mixes and donut mixes - I did the crumpets last night - you have to make it yourself obviously - but it was pretty easy and was pretty delish as well - now to try the donuts - yuummm. But god yeah - crumpets are a real favourite of mine -especially those big square ones - slathered with butter and honey and nice cup of tea...
  10. I've been doing this recipe almost every second day - if you like irish soda bread you will love this! Open Original Shared Link I put in heaped spoons of the baking powder so it rises a bit better.
  11. I tasted the new bars at the gluten free expo - they were pretty good. I reckon my kids would love them. I also tasted those pies - and I have to say -YUMMMM - I have never tasted a better pie. I went to the expo on the friday evening and they had almost run out already - everyone was just like "yummo!"
  12. My 2 year old son has been gluten free since Jan. He had a biopsy that did not give us a diag of celiac disease but that was considered border line. His Paed GI suggested going gluten free as we had exhuasted all other avenunes of testing etc. He went gluten free but also started nexium at the same time - his improvement was immediate. He vomitted every...

    ARCHIVED Lymphoma

I hope that is not the case. How depressing!
  14. See - I do actually agree with this. I was talking to a well known immunologist who owns australias first grain free bakery/cafe the other day. And he has done numerous studies in his career that basically say that we shouldn't be eating any grains whatsoever, his studies indicate that you can basically put any autoimmune disease into remission by following...
  15. Not trying to sound like your mother here But you are going to get sick if you keep eating junk like that! Seriously though - did you check the ingredients in the ham? I got caught out by that in the beginning!!
  16. My whole family is now gluten free. I just can't afford to get glutened due to very severe symptoms. My DH was happy to comply and lo and behold he had gluten after going gluten free and got really sick, left it awhile - tried again and got really sick again. HIs mother has an autoimmune disease so I wouldn't be surprised if he has celiac or is gluten intolerant...
  17. DH is directly related to eating gluten Psoriasis is a completely separate autoimmune disease. If it was DH it would clear up if you were gluten free. Psoriasis is pretty obvious looking so if you were diagnosed with that then I would assume that is what you have. Just from the way you are describing it white patches with red underneath - sounds like psoriasis...
  18. Last time I cheated I ended up violently with intersussception and in ER - now that is embarrassing!! I would not go -especially as previous poster said they were glutened by eating their gluten free pasta!
  19. Have you had your ANAs tested as well? The fever and rash and white bloods cells could also be lupus? Not to scare you - but all these autoimmune things are connected. The tests can show negative even if you're positive for celiac. My bloods were completely negative and I have very severe symptoms as well (I've had small bowel intersussception 4 times...
  20. Its not the same - but before I went gluten free I had chronic middle ear infections and the Dr says they were definitely related - I had around 20 in ten years. Also vertigo can be linked to celiac as can nerve damage. There are over 300 associated symptoms - which is why alot of us find it difficult to be diagnoses!
  21. Yes! That sound like them and they are very common in autoimmune diseases! As to the addiction thing - Its not the same but i am watching my brother self destruct as well - its the most awful thing to see them do it to themselves. Hugs to you - celiac is a breeze compared to that, its getting diagnosed thats the pain
  22. The problem is 99% of Drs really don't have a clue about celiac - my GP told me they receive around 7 minutes of training in their entire medical careers. The fact that something showed up in his blood test means he should absolutely have a biopsy and is most likely celiac (not definitely but a high chance). The Dr may just not know how to read the tests...
  23. What "markers" are you talking about? Its very common for celiac symptoms to resolve in the teenage years but it is still doing damage. If he has any symptoms at all I would be getting him tested.
  24. Dom't forget to check lip gloss, liptstick, chewing gum, breath mints etc - these are all the things that caught me out!
  25. Hiya, My two year old has had malabsorption syndrome badly since he was born. And he is considered slightly small but still normal. He was borderline on his biopsy but still showing symptoms after 7 months - oh what fun. My 5 year old also has malabsorption issues and chronic gastritis and he has always grown well. So yeah- its possible to not absorb...
