I was so excited to discover that our local Thai restaurant, Samui Thai, is almost completely gluten-free. It's my new favorite place Open Original Shared Link We went there on Mother's Day and took my parents. There were six of us and four of us have celiac disease. Everything breaded was gluten-free, even the fried calamari! YUM! As far...

I haven't heard of Ezekial cereal, but I know that the Ezekial bread in not gluten-free, so you should double check that cereal. Your questions: Question 1) Do you have an Outback Steakhouse nearby? They have a gluten-free menu. I've found that nearly all restaurants have something that I can eat and I rarely settle for just a salad. You can...

Welcome to our gluten free world! Two things... You don't have to give up bread completely. Chebe Bread is very good and versatile. I use it for sandwiches, pizza pockets, dinner rolls, hotdog buns, etc. Open Original Shared Link There is a DNA test that is not outrageously expensive that you can have done without doing a gluten challenge...

This is quite upsetting. The longer I'm on the gluten-free diet, the more sensitive I'm getting. Is it because my system is no longer accustomed to compensating for the gluten influx, or is it just the progression of the disease? I guess I'll never know since I discovered my celiac disease before I suffered many symptoms. Within the past several months...

I have celiac disease and so do both of my children. We were diagnosed with blood tests. But my mother got tested just last week and got her results back today. Her test was a simple mouth swab to test for a gene. If you're interested, I posted the interpretation of her results on my blog. I found it very informative. Be sure to get your kids...

Whew! I got here just in time to save my blog from dropping to the second page. So...I've been telling my mom, who has had all kinds of intestinal problems and other celiac symptoms for years, that I think she has celiac disease. It stands to reason, does it not, that she would have it since two of her four children are confirmed CDers and one other...

Congratulations on your diagnosis. From what I've read, it takes an average of 10 years of going from doctor to doctor for most celiac sufferers to get a diagnosis. I was lucky in that regard. I didn't have any noticeable symptoms when I found out that my uncle had celiac disease. Since I already knew about the disease from a family friend, and...

Celiac Doctor Says He Has 100% Cure!?
Mosaics commented on bobhayes1's blog entry in bobhayes1's Blog
No, there is no cure and don't let "Dr." Snow rip you off. Go on a gluten-free diet and feel better. There are legitimate researchers and doctors searching for treatments and cures, but none are found yet. -
Maintaining Diet While Traveling

I struggle with my weight, too. In reality, I've always been on the slim side, but I don't think I see myself realistically and I see fat when I look in the mirror. I'm 46 and a size 6, but I know I've gained weight since being diagnosed about two and half years ago. People look at me like I'm crazy when I mention needing to lose weight, so I usually keep... -
We had our Christmas dinner on Monday the 26th this year. I am certain that I didn't have anything to eat that contained gluten, but I was sick all Monday night. The only thing questionable that I consumed was a Sam's Choice (Walmart brand) root beer. The only questionable ingredients on it's label are caramel coloring and natural flavoring. I have a...

Is anybody out there in blogland!? I had a good gluten-free Thanksgiving. No gluten contamination. Last year I got something, still haven't figured out what it was, but it ruined my trip to see Cirque du Soliel. Some of my family members brought some glutened foods, but I avoided them and all was A-OK. My sausage dressing was excellent this year...

This Blog board has been pretty dead these past few weeks. Seems after the initial flurry of activity, we've run out of things to say and hardly any new entries are posted.About three weeks ago I went out to eat lunch with a friend at a place called Cafe Max. It's a very popular place with the business lunch crowd and serves soups and salads. I used to...

I'm so sorry you're having a bad time. Would you consider taking anti-depressants to get you through this period...maybe just until your system can recover somewhat or the dr.'s find out what's causing your fatigue? Where do you live? Maybe you could find a celiac support group. We have one in the Dallas area. I've only been to...

Well, with that attitude, I definitely wouldn't hire that woman to make my cake. What a creep. And what a crummy cook she must be if she can't even figure out how to make a gluten-free cake. It's not that hard. I have a chocolate cake recipe that I've used for years. My husband has always raved about it. I thought it was a thing of the past...

Yep, that's what I'm talking about today. No! I don't have 'em!We have a long time friend that has celiac disease...was diagnosed over 10 yrs. ago after a mental breakdown. I think I wrote about him in one of my earlier entries. Anyway, he has been having trouble with his prostate, thought it was just the regular old man's problem (he's 70 something)...

We're going over to some friends' house to play 42 tonight (for those who don't know what that is, it's a domino game). We play lots of rounds of 42 and eat, eat, eat. The hostess called today to ask if I could eat Hershey's chocolate; said she was going to make something gluten-free for me. She's really sweet, is a diabetic herself so she knows what it...

WooHoo! They settled! Three down, five to go. We'll probably have to go ahead and go to court with at least one of the defendant's, but that's to be expected.

I spent the better part of the day in a legal mediation. Boring. Man, I'm glad I don't have to do that for a living We're involved in a patent litigation in which my husband is the inventor and the company who owns the patent has sued about 8-9 big companies for infringement. Because I'm a major stockholder, they wanted me to attend the mediation today...

I guess I'm kind of lucky in that regard. My oldest brother has celiac disease, too, so all of my family tries to make gluten-free food when we get together. Whenever we go visit my mother, she calls me constantly to ask "is this or that gluten free?". Actually, I'm pretty sure she has celiac disease, too, but she won't go on the...

What kind of creamed corn do you get? I love creamed corn, but can only find it with gluten in it. If you're craving wheat, you should try that Chebe bread. I ordered some off their internet site, the variety case, and have made two different kinds. They were both very good. I made hot dog buns which aren't really like regular buns, but still...

Hey, I finally rec'd my Chebe bread order. Last night I used the original mix to make hot dog buns. They weren't like any bun I've every had, but they were good. Since the instructions said to flatten them out to about 1/2 inch, I thought they might rise. But no, they were still 1/2 inch thick when they finished cooking. They were crusty on the outside...

Thank you kindly.

Well, yeah, it's a pain, but we always need to be thinking ahead as to where we're going to be and what will be available to eat.

What did you eat that had gluten in it?
