  1. Sounds great! Yum! Open Original Shared Link
  2. Only things that get in your mouth need to be gluten free. I have never seen a toothpaste with actual gluten in it.
  3. Maybe you are just have a bad year? Open Original Shared Link "I feel like I get sick more often than I ever did before I was diagnosed with celiac disease. Does celiac disease affect the immune system? Celiac disease doesn’t affect the immune system at all. If anything, those with celiac disease have a stronger immune system."
  4. Have you had your Celiac blood work re-run? A follow-up. See if you are still getting gluten or if it is something else.
  5. Lactose intolerance is quite common in adults. Many cannot process the lactose in the milk. Celiac can effect that ability, too. When the intestines are damaged with untreated Celiac - the part damaged is the part that makes the lactase that helps digest the lactose in the milk. Onec the gut has healed, many, but not all, Celiacs can digest lactose again...
  6. I would think that, if a person has Celiac, when they have healed their intestines - they might not need wheat bran anymore.
  7. I'm wondering - what are you doing to get "glutened"? I have been a Celiac for quite a few years and have maybe only been "glutened" 1 time in the last year. I ask because if your reactions are this bad - I would think you would be extra extra extra careful about what goes near your mouth.
  8. What about these? Haven't had them in years - but they used to be fine. Open Original Shared Link
  9. Looks like no one has eaten dinner or cooked for a few days! My hub was out of town for a few days - so I didn't really cook much of anything. Last night we had a lovely potato and pancetta frittata. With a spinach, orange, red onion, feta and vinegrette salad. Tonight - chipolte chicken chili
  10. But, Joan Rivers was 80 years old. Advanced age does add risk to many procedures. If you are in that age bracket, you might want to speak to all of your doctors about whether anesthesia is OK for you.
  11. Thanks. I would probably open them and separate into smaller portions - so they would fit in a paper coffee cup. But this has gotten me to thinking about bringing a "tin" camping cup. I just know that I will be happier if I can have a little something hot when everyone else is eating.
  12. There is no reason to warn you about grapes. They are safe for Celiacs. You may have a problem with some part of the grapes - some people, Celiac or not, do. There was no way for your nutritionist to know that you have an issue with them.
  13. I am assuming you are an adult? Might be time to get your own home where you can make the rules? Doesn't sound like your parents are interesting in changing their ways. It sounds like you have done about all you can to make your current environment as safe as possible - and it isn't safe enough. Time to find a new and safer environment.
  14. Grapes do not contain gluten. Grapes do have other things that may bother a person, especially a person who has not healed well yet. Don't eat them and try them again in a few months would be my suggestion.
  15. Oldest son does ride a snowboard - that thing is wide enough to strap a microwave to! Now we just need to find a plug on the top of the mountain!
  16. Yeah... but even a small microwave can get kind of heavy in my backpack while skiing.
  17. Sounds like some of you pack your purse with fresh food every day and carry around enough for a couple of full meals! I just try to keep a couple of light weight things, like a small pack of nuts, in case I get caught away longer than I thought. If I know I am going to be away - then I pack a lunch.
  18. Was your rash biopsied?
  19. Yes. Liver enzymes can return to normal quickly with Celiac disease - Open Original Shared Link If you read the link I provided to the Celiac experts - a 1 week gluten challenge would not be enough.
  20. Finally saw one with the big gluten-free on the front. Looks like it might take a while for all the older, non-labelled ones , to work their way thru the system.
  21. Thanks. I'll look for those Trader Joes ones. I don't think I have seen the Thai Kitchen ones. I'll look for those, too!
  22. I guess I will have to experiment. See if hot, not boiling, water will make noodles soft. I wonder if WF has dehydrated veggies? Maybe I am making this more complicated than it needs to be. I might just be happy to have the warm chicken broth from the KNoor packets.....
  23. I was thinking more along the lines of a completely dried soup. Something that doesn't need refrigeration or could go bad. Like a gluten instant noodle cups where you just add hot water to reconstitute. this sort of thing Open Original Shared Link Or these Open Original Shared Link
  24. Rashes are usually allergic. Maybe try some plain pumpkin seeds and see if its the pumpkin seed oil or something else in the pill or you ate or got on your skin?
  25. I assume pumpkin oil is from pumpkin seeds? Sure, you could be allergic to it.
