  1. Gluten doesn't stay in your system for two weeks, but they found that you can continue making antibodies 2 weeks after you stop eating gluten. They didn't check past the two weeks as that wasn't the point of the study. It was a gluten challenge so a lot longer period eating gluten than 1 glutening.
  2. co Mis- diagnosis was in the list I mentioned. And, because 30% of the population has the genes for Celiac, I guess that could figure into the odds. However, we can't ignore the other reasons a person might appear to have NCGS. In their cases, eating gluten won't give them celiac and may not even be the actual " cure". And in this posters case, a missed...
  3. You know, this is the " blog" section. You might get more answers and earn more over on the Forum. Read about Dermatitis herpetiformis.
  4. Cowboy steak and veggie soup
  5. Can you get copies of all those tests? If you were gluten free during the time some of these were taken, they would be negative or lower than they would be on a full gluten diet. I wonder if you actually have Celiac and a bad doctor. If you are eating gluten free now, you would have to go back on gluten to get tested and find a new doctor. At this point...
  6. Looks like we agree. We can't say that NCGS leads to Celiac.
  7. Wow! Which session at ICDS did you hear that in? I missed that one. What I heard, several times is that they aren't really sure there even is such a thing as NCGS. This isn't meant to discount the fact that some non Celiacs are helped by a gluten-free diet. They just don't have enough research on this. Here are a few reasons for NCGS they are kicking...
  8. Of course not! Whey is made from milk. Thus.... " But if you have a dairy issue you wouldn't eat ice cream"
  9. Make sure you get the total serum IGA with the TTG IGA and the TTG IGG. There is some evidence that people with low IGA have more sinus infections. If you have low IGA, any test for it could be low. Here is a list of the basic symptoms and it contains a link to more symptoms Open Original Shared Link
  10. Glucose test is not for Celiac! It's has to do with blood sugar. I'm sorry.
  11. IF he thinks its hypo- glycemia, what does he say to do about it? That sounds like a lot more than a mild response.
  12. Sure. But if you have a dairy issue you wouldn't eat ice cream!
  13. Dominoes' has been pretty up front about the fact that they do not take any precautions for Celiacs. I think a few people have talked with their local Dominoes in person and had better luck.
  14. I haven't gotten there yet. It here is a review: Open Original Shared Link
  15. I think wipes could work. Wiping is the important part to get the gluten off. Maybe 2 wipes? and a dry paper towel or napkin? Or a Hazamat suit?
  16. My 20 yr old son still tries that on me! It didn't work at 6 is isn't working at 20! And they helped with their laundry - one started at 4 & the other at 2 and were completely doing their own laundry by 10/11. How did Child protective Services let this happen?
  17. One of my favorites are the google ads on this site. We may have blocked it now but , if you are viewing a topic about pizza - a Doninos or Papa John's ad would show!
  18. Yes. I have eaten all those things in one meal and by themselves. No problem. On this Forum, we ask that you provide reliable research to back up any claims that are not widely accepted. Posting random blogs and websites that sell a product are not medical or scientific proof. I went to the International Celiac Disease Symposium because I wanted...
  19. Actually....all those are for people with Celiac Disease. The OP says she doesn't have celiac Disease. There isn't a lot of research on non- celiac Gluten Sensitivity. But, because it doesn't cause villi damage, at least some of those probably aren't problems from NCGS. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  20. Yes. Open Original Shared Link The incidence of autoimmune diseases in the general US population is 3.5%. In a 1999 study, Ventura, et.al. found that those diagnosed with celiac disease between 2-4 years of age had a 10.5% chance of developing an autoimmune disorder. Additional findings are outlined in the table below: Age at diagnosis Chance of...
  21. GET HER TO A DOCTOR! there is a chance it's from gluten but the chances are better that it is something really serious!
  22. Glad to know you haven't completely lost your mind! Now get some sleep!
  23. I'm sorry if yeast, dairy and corn bother you, but it isn't a gluten reaction. I think you should get your info from real doctors and Celiac researchers. Open Original Shared Link No mention about not eating yeast, etc: Open Original Shared Link "What is the treatment for celiac disease? There are no drugs to treat celiac disease and...
  24. This is not true. There is no scientific evidence of this. Soy does bother some people, Celiacs or not.
  25. I agree with Nicole. Get tested before going gluten free. From what I see on here, people regret going gluten free and never having a diagnosis. And they don't want to eat gluten for 3 months to get tested once they are feeling better gluten-free.
