  1. How does he know their is small intestine damage if he won't look for it? Especially because the Celiac bloods were negative.
  2. I guess the one thing we did to get ready for winter was, in July, buy my oldest a pair of really nice, waterproof & warm hiking boots. His college tends to have several inches of cold slushy melting snow during the winter. He said in Ft Collins, Co they got a little snow. I think they got a bit more in the mountains. The boots were great. He...
  3. I thought you had enough on your hands, chasing that turkey around town!
  4. I was just at the International Celiac Disease Symposium and can tell you that they would answer this question "NO!" The doctors that are working on a pill that can break down gluten very quickly, before it leaves the stomach, tested the OTC and mail order products and found that they do not work at all or only work a very slight bit. They also say that...
  5. Thanks. I agree with the foreign companies and the company of jerks. I had heard that gel capsules could be an issue, but I haven't had any experience with that. I
  6. I forgot what country you live in. What do they serve for parties like this? Could you just do the gluten-free ones or maybe tweak them to be gluten-free?
  7. I am wondering. Have you ever found any that actually had a gluten ingredient? Not just a company that won't say something is gluten-free because they don't test it, etc. It seems to me that most medication does not contain gluten but I haven't dealt with that many medications orcould get a labeled gluten-free one so I didn't' ask about the other brand...
  8. You might want to go to the main page and use the google function. I always go down and check the "as posts" so its easier to read. Snacks and party food have been big topics. Cheese and crackers, IF you don't have nice crackers just cheese chunks are good. A big board of cheese, fruits, olives, nuts, salami....who needs crackers! You could make...
  9. Tonalyn - so as not to depress you further - There is no reason to sit in the car. As you go along, you will learn where you can eat safely and ways to deal with it if you can't. Many of us eat first or bring some food when going to restaurants. We go in and enjoy the company. There is no legitimate reason not to.
  10. Why do doctors tell people to go gluten free before testing them? Agh!!! Unfortunately, you need to be eating gluten to be tested for celiac. Get tested! As for the cravings, sometimes the cravings mean we are lacking certain vitamins or minerals. Craving sweet probably doesn't mean you are deficient in unnaturally orange " Circus peanuts". It probably...
  11. I am trying to move Crazymom's post to her own thread but having difficulties on the iPad. I will get someone else to do it.
  12. You might want to check out this more recent one. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/104326-study-finds-no-connection-between-autism-celiac-disease/
  13. I Thought you just said you WERE having issues while eating these things? Anyway....my advice to eat a more rounded diet with some fiber still stands.
  14. I guess this is technically about my lunch... but you can't kick me off for it! I had a cold quinoa salad I picked up yesterday at this cute gluten-free tea/juicing café. It was a Mexican style? corn, black beans, tomatoes, pepper, etc. And I LOVED it ! I thought I didn't like quinoa but I was going to give it another shot. Now I just have to ...
  15. What Gemini said! I don't need to repeat all that good advice. here is the "Newbie" thread with lots of miscellaneous stuff. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/91878-newbie-info-101/ Look at/join in on the What's for dinner thread to get ideas of what we eat. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/75238-the-whats-for-dinner-tonight-chat...
  16. Not much fiber. Those bagels have a lot of ingredients that can cause you issues - like guar gum. Maybe eat some more fruits and veggies, nuts, etc and not eat the processed gluten-free stuff for a few weeks? See if that helps?
  17. Maybe you could cut back on the gluten-free processed replacements until she heals? They can have a lot of odd ingredients, like gums, that many people find hard to digest.
  18. The best way to know if you get enough liquid is to look at your pee. Pee should be very light yellow. If not, drink some more water during the day.
  19. We do have the new guidelines going into effect. 20 ppm is extremely small and that standard fits with most of the countries that have a gluten-free standard. Remember, that just because something tests at less than 20 parts per million, that does not mean it had 19 ppm or even 2 ppm.
  20. This is one of the original recipes from the late 60's early 70's adapted for gluten-free. Patio Mix Preheat oven to 200F 3 tbsp cooking oil 1 tbsp peanut butter Microwave and mix well. Add to PB mixture: 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce (in the US Lean and Perrins is gluten-free) ¼ Teasp garlic salt ¼ teasp salt In a 9x13 pan o...

    ARCHIVED Pregnancy

Didn't cut out dairy. If you can digest it, don't worry about it. I don't drink milk but am more into the yogurt and hard cheeses which are lower lactose.
  23. Chicken pot pie with a Bisquick top
  24. I don't think gum has gluten so you are likely safe. Open Original Shared Link
