  1. Because its "autolyzed yeast extract" it is so overprocessed, it doesn't have any gluten left. I make crockpot stew but I don't use this mix or any flour. I add onions and bay leaves for the seasoning. I use instant tapioca. Crockpot Beef Stew 2 lbs beef stew meat, cubed 5 carrots sliced thinly 1 onion, diced 3 ribs of celery, diced 5 potatoes...
  2. Oh!!! Sorry! You meant gluten food...... Well...the same principle applies.
  3. There are lovely men everywhere! But I just look and don't partake! :0
  4. We have had a lot of discussions about make-up/cosmetics on this forum. You might find it helpful to go to the main forum page and use the google in the top right corner. I like to use the thing that looks like a white cog or flower (Advanced) and choose the display as posts. Just look for posts from the last year or so as products change over time. ...
  5. At the ICDS, the doctors said that they mostly use : tTG IgA tTG IgG and the serum IgA If either of the tTG's are positive, head to a biopsy. The total IgA is to explain why the tTG IgA might be negative. If the total IgA is low, you don't make enough of what is tested for in the IgA version. However, the docs felt the IgA version was the best for...
  6. I think if you are that worried about Wendy's soft serve machine - I can't imagine how you would consider McDonalds! In the Us, I have not heard of any gluten-free buns. I know some people do eat the fries and the plain patties and are fine. I'm not sure I would trust them not to mess up the hamburger patties, but that is me. I occasionally have a...
  7. I just merged the two topics together because we are talking about the same thing here and on the new topic.
  8. I think your doctor is trying a version of the FODMAP diet on her. There have been recent studies that people who do not test positive for Celiac but have good results on a gluten-free diet were doing better because they are responding to the low FODMAP foods. I think the fructose comment is a reference to FODMAP foods. However, your baby did have a positive...
  9. First, Celiac disease isn't an allergy so don't let them talk up you into some bogus allergy test. You do need to eat gluten to be tested correctly for Celiac disease. Open Original Shared Link
  10. A lot of people use quinoa instead of couscous.
  11. I haven't heard back from my friend. When I do, I'll post it here and you can see if you can use it.
  12. Sometimes dents are just dents. Sometimes its a vitamin or thyroid thing. The toes sound like you either smashed them a few months ago ( it can take months before they fall off) or you have a fungus.
  13. I'll see your lazy and raise you 5 lazys. We had French bread pizza, carrot sticks ( pre- cut) and apple slices!
  14. Saw the tomato today at Target. Says gluten-free.
  15. My friend says she has two - one she likes better than the other. But she isn't sure of the exact names and she keeps them at work. So she will let me know tomorrow. At the top of this thread is " follow" and you might want to do that to get notices. Also, click on yourself then profile then notifications. If she and I forget - someone pm me tomorrow...
  16. I have a friend that has Celiac and uses one sometimes, let me ask her and get back to you. I think a lot of the basic protein shakes are gluten-free. My boys have EAS whey protein and it looks gluten-free.
  17. You have intestinal damage. Maybe you are lucky and it isn't affecting you yet. If you continue to eat gluten, you will get more damage until it will affect you. Your chances of a few GI cancers are increased with untreated celiac. Osteoporosis is a common complication. Miscarriages for women. Malabsorption of vitamins and minerals which can then result...
  18. From what I have gathered from some Celiac doctors - if its a mild positive, you would really want a good endoscopic biopsy (at least 4-6 samples) in the small intestine. If you want that to be positive, you should continue to eat gluten until the procedure is finished.
  19. Just because you choose to believe some guy on the internet - it doesn't make him a doctor or a valid Celiac researcher. Until a reputable source proves "cross-reactivity", I will continue to call it "baloney". Just an interesting fact, at the International Celiac Disease Symposium, they served lots of coffee as well as repeated that they have no evidence...

    ARCHIVED Gluten'd?

Maybe you should see if your doctor would read some info from Celiac experts? Probably won't, so you will have to. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  21. Ah..... The great bread debate! Bread varies by country. Are you in the US? I am in the US and I like Canyon Bakery San Juan bread Open Original Shared Link It is like a "whole wheat" bread. You will find that a slice of gluten-free bread is usually smaller than "regular' bread. Toasting it makes it taste better. Sometimes, its best...
  22. That is a website that sells trampolines. I wouldn't take medical advice from them.
  23. I'm curious - why did your doctor refuse to any blood testing or referral to a GI? He skipped the whole diagnostic process and went straight to the gluten-free diet. Now, you're stuck. If you want a diagnosis, you will have to go back to eating gluten.
  24. That's exactly what happened to me! Our 23 year old KA mixer's motor burned out and we had bought a new one a few months before. Just a note - vinegar doesn't "kill" or break gluten down, it just helps to loosen it up so you can wipe and rinse it off.
  25. I just throw the noodles in at the end and let them cook. We don't mind that the noodles soak up all the broth in the left-overs. But my son and hub don't really like a lot of broth. Some noodles seem to hold up better, so try different brands and ingredients - corn pasta seems sturdier but might not taste great in chicken noodle. Friday night ...
