  1. Very cool! Did it come that way or did the Pirate recycle an engine from somewhere else. You have a lot of hills there, don't you? That motor will come in handy
  2. Looks like we are having: Corn bread crust Mexican chicken pizza, jalapeños stuffed with green onions, cream cheese and apple and wrapped in bacon, cantelope and chocolate PB cream cheese candy balls.
  3. Most of the info on this thread is from 2008. It is out of date. Also, Campbell's has different recipes in the US from Canada or the UK. Campbell's legally must label wheat. If its a beef and barley soup, it will say that, too. First rule of Celiac Disease - Read the labels!
  4. I don't know which country you are in, as that makes a difference. It in the US and Canada, it will list wheat if its an ingredient. All you have to do is read the ingredients.
  5. Experimental Dinner tonight. Unfortunately, I can't choose which new thing to make!
  6. Its supposed to be negative. It shows you are eating gluten free and not making any antibodies that are destroying your intestines.
  7. Your "scientific" reference: Open Original Shared Link What ingredients should I avoid in cosmetic products? Gluten is only toxic to celiac patients and patients with dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) if ingested. Because gluten cannot be absorbed through the skin, the use of cosmetic and shampoos containing gluten has not been shown to be detrimental...
  8. The reason most of us use shampoos and lip products and lotions without obvious gluten ingredients is that we get them in our mouths. I don't use a shampoo that says gluten-free. I don't use one that says wheat germ oil. I don't worry about my mascara because I don't see getting that in my mouth. So... I don't buy specifically labeled gluten-free...
  9. There are lots of grain free pet foods now. I used to recommend Blue Buffalo but I don't anymore. They seem to put too much vitamin D in the dog and cat food. Also, they have had a lot of recalls due to bacteria. You may just have to call or email the denture goo companies. Likely you will get a CYA statement like "We do not use any gluten ingredients...
  10. Too much fancy smancy food! Here's what " real" people who have no idea what a cacitore or a braise or a spring onion is cooks ! ( another grammatically terrifying sentence) Bisquick cheeseburger pie, green salad and some cantelope! http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/gluten-free-impossibly-easy-cheeseburger-pie/d85099e2-c64c-4328-9206-a8ffc...
  11. Sorry. The OP only posted that one time a year and a half ago. Probably won't get a response.
  12. I'm glad you know how to use your brain! I used to think this, too. Unfortunately, I can't count the number of people who read the first post "Wheat bran is gluten-free ..." and never go any further down the thread. Then they mention that they read it somewhere and its OK. Someone calling herself a home ec expert started giving medical advice and...
  13. I doubt "Candy" will even come back.
  14. I think Stephanie did read it. That's why she posted it. And she said it wasn't safe.
  15. Looks like you were never diagnosed with Celiac disease? Just having the genes does not mean you have Celiac. That might be why you can eat small amounts of wheat and get away with it. Even if the bran didn't have the protein Celiacs react to in it, the processing would certainly leave some.
  16. Of course wheat bran is not safe for Celiacs. Perhaps you don't really have Celiac Disease? You haven't been an active member for years, so I have no idea if you were diagnosed or not. I also wonder if someone managed to get into your account and post this for fun?
  17. I'm a mod. I think this is a lovely place to chat. I LOVE a nice boxer dog!
  18. But....did they do the Celiac blood panel? Do that before you delete gluten.
  19. Most of the info on this thread is several years old. Products change often so get current info for the Starbucks syrups. Most Starbucks will let you read the ingredients on the syrup bottle.
  20. I had no issues with it. I have noticed it has a very short refrigerated shelf- life.
  21. Maybe skip the eating out for a few months? Then pick places with good gluten-free reputations like Outback, PF Chang's, Red Robin, etc? Or up scale places?
  22. My SIL is allergic to mushrooms. Some chicken/veggie broths have mushrooms in them. When she is coming over, I have to remember to check the broth I use to make food
  23. If they fry them, and they probably do, that would be why they aren't on the gluten-free menu. Are these the "baked potatoes" you were blaming Outback or some other place for glutening you with on another thread?
  24. Those aren't as safe as a plain baked potato. They scoop the insides out and add who knows what and put them back in the potato. In theory they should be safe, but if they aren't on the gluten-free menu, they might put something odd in them.
  25. Sorry I missed this. I have found the brownies to b e really yummy and fudgey. The cookies OK as cookies but great as a crust for something else. The yellow cake mix is best with other things added. We love these 2 recipes. There are more on the website. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
