  1. I just realized - your not new to this. You have been a member for 4 years. i was assuming you were new and didn't really know about food that have gluten and ones that don't. So my question back is - why are you eating gluten on purpose after 4 years?
  2. The University of Chicago Celiac Center says its fine for us to get the flu shot. Open Original Shared Link
  3. Can you post a link for this, please?
  4. Why wouldn't there be some eggs or cheese or fruit in the fridge? Popcorn, nuts or potato chips in the cabinet? Frozen fries or veggies or ice cream in the fridge? Even when I ate gluten, not everything in the fridge had gluten in it. If you have to eat gluten free, you should make sure you have things you can eat in the house. This sounds like you...
  5. Amen, Sister! I would like to point out that many companies, under just a " no gluten ingredients but maybe shared machinery" would have said a product is gluten-free. Silk could legally call their product gluten free.
  6. I wondered if they haven't finalized the ingredients yet? Maybe they will see how the limited release goes and change the ingredients if they don't do well.
  7. Those sound very safe. They use no gluten in any of their production & packaging facilities. They don't test and add that cost on to the product.
  8. If he doesn't like how you do it - Tell him to make his own damn eggs!
  9. But...didn't you say you have been gluten-free for several years? What would be the point ?
  10. Someone gives you a salad with a breadstick or croutons or other gluten laden stuff on it. You send it back. Some places will just take the bread off and bring you the same salad back. But how would you know? You have hidden a sugar packet in the bottom of the bowl! This is the time to call the manager over. If you are given a steak with a piece of...
  11. Next time accept it and put a sugar packet in the bottom. Then give it back. Even if the waitress sees you do it. That keeps you from getting a salad with crumbs
  12. Marcus, I'm confused here. You have posted many, many posts in the last 2 weeks so I might not be remembering correctly, but.....didn't you say you weren't diagnosed with Celiac? Did I miss that you were diagnosed as a child but didn't eat gluten-free until now?
  13. Please remember: this thread is 5 years old. Ingredients and products change in that period of time.
  14. You can always ask. Not sure how you could prove it. Might have been better if you had contacted the manager on day one rather than day 6 or 7. They might have been able to check what happened and who cooked, etc and corrected any mistakes.
  15. And the samples are less than a centimeter and you have 16-20 feet of small intestines. Not very small, are they?
  16. It either left-over crockpot lasagna or Minsky's pizza. We tried to get pizza last week and the pizza oven wasn't working!
  17. I don't know how many samples they took. The damage is usually sort of patchy. The whole small intestine doesn't have to be ruined to give you issues. Its quite possible they missed the really bad spots.
  18. I rarely use a pie crust but the ready-made gluten-free ones I have seen are shaped and in a pan. These look like a tub. That would make them nice to use for appetizers like empanadas or pinwheels or such.
  19. I got this response. Very quick! I'm a "Dear Valued Consumer"! "Dear Valued Consumer: Thank you for contacting Pillsbury. Your comments are important to our business. We will be updating the website with this information. Please check back in a few weeks. Product is not available in the stores until mid June. Please be assured that we will...
  20. Just to clarify- This product is safe for people with Celiac Disease. Bartful has an additional corn intolerance or allergy.
  21. This sounds like the one my SIL makes occasionally. I haven't tried it but she said it was good.
  22. I sent them a note that they should list the ingredients on the website. Maybe if they get a few requests for an ingredient list, they will add it? Open Original Shared Link

  24. I'm hopeful! These are not items for everyday use but might make a nice, easy treat. I'm hoping slightly cheaper or at least more accessible.
  25. Don't think we have had this posted yet. Pillsbury is making gluten-free dough. Open Original Shared Link
