  1. Mom! Irish is calling me grumpy! I'm not grumpy...I'm just not eloquent!
  2. Not trying to argue, but there have been several articles on here about how the ADA works for GI illness and reasonable accomadations. Mainly, this has been legally applied to schools and the recent ruling against a college that refused to serve safe food for students, forced to buy a meal plan, who have Celiac and food allergies. Wheelchair ramps are...
  3. I hope you don't keep chicken legs in the car for a month, just in case!
  4. i didn't think she was applying for disability payments. Just the ADA protections. That is how I took it, as she was asking about restaurants. edited to add: I know getting on disability is a real pain in the a$$. I know a few people with very real disabilities who keep getting denied. Then they show some idiot on Disability for a back injury, movng...
  5. Some airports are stocking the GoPicnic boxes in the "gift shop". Mostly the gluten-free ones and at least one vegan one (that's what GoPicinc told me the other day).
  6. Looks gluten-free to me! Lots of unusal spices! Hope you like it.
  7. I soooo love this little cheer leader and Irish's little dancing guy! They make me want to smile....so I guess I will!
  8. On this thread, we are compiling a list of easy to keep in your house, or on your person, snacks for when there is nothing to eat. Perhaps that would be helpful to you? https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/101748-favorite-emergency-food/
  9. I click on my picture. Then you can see your info. On the top right is "edit my profile" I click that and it lets me change my password as a choice. This is on a PC. Not sure if it works the same on a phone.
  10. Looking at past posts, the OP rarely responds to what he has posted. Hopefully, he reads them.
  11. Since we have been having a few posts saying they have nothing to eat but gluten when they are hungry, I thought we could compile a list of our favorite things to eat when there is "nothing" to eat. I don't mean "pop a chicken in the oven with fresh herbs from my garden". So..... What do you keep with you or in your house for Hunger Emergencies...
  12. I'm thinking like Marilyn- some filling snacks. More than you could need just incase things don't work out the way you think it will.
  13. What did they say about Celiac? We're your blood tests positive for that, too?
  14. It doesn't appear to work in restaurants. Here's why: It's a choice to purchase a product at a restauraunt. And, Just as a grocery does not have to stock gluten-free bread or a boutique does not have to have a size 16, we are physically able to choose where to shop. A college is a bit different. If the student is required to purchase a meal plan, they...
  15. OMG! Yummmmmm! Open Original Shared Link For all those who think a gluten-free diet is a way to lose weight, show them this recipe!

  17. Really, that's all that matters. If you deposited 2, you get 2 back. Not unlike a bank - except you would deposit 2 and get 2.1 back. Fractions of kids isn't good.
  18. Why won't he order your blood work? The colonoscopy has nothing to do with Celiac but is still a good idea over 50. They could do the endoscopy ( for Celiac) at the same time. I know several people who have gone for the routine colonoscopy at 50 with no symptoms and found pre- cancerous polyps. If left, they would likely become cancer in a few years....
  19. This topic is over 5 years old. Please re- check ingredients on products that are mentioned. 5 years is a long time for food products and ingredients and practices change. I think there are newer threads about BBq sauces that might be more helpful.
  20. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link A diagnosis of DH is a diagnosis of Celiac. You may have to show these links to your doctor if they don't understand that.
  21. That's what I was trying to say. Thank you! And the fact that he said this happens to him often tells me he isn't asking a hypothetical question.
  22. Some chicken is injected with salt water. You can tell by looking at the sodium content. Chicken naturally has about 40-45 mgs per serving. I have seen some packaged chicken with 135-150! That's a lot of salt. It's not gluten.
  23. Open Original Shared Link What is a gluten challenge? A gluten challenge is the period of time when gluten is added back into a person’s diet to assist in the diagnosis of celiac disease. Antibodies take time to build into the blood stream before they can be detected through blood analysis. For a gluten challenge we recommend eating 1/2 slice o...
  24. I have not seen any turkey or Honey Baked ham with gluten. As for a pre-made turkey buger - you would need to read the ingredients. They probably add things to it to make it tastier than just ground turkey. You could get ground turkey - I usually get Jenny-o or the other name brand I can't think of right now. Then you could add what spices you like, cook...
